That's the point we're gettin at.
He may be sent to jail for doing something that wouldn't get you arrested or detained. Probation is a trap because you don't have to break an actual law to be imprisoned.

If someone is truly a criminal, wouldn't he have broken one of the thousands of laws out there? Jaywalking? No seatbelt? Playing his music too loud? Sagging? Littering? You mean to tell me with all of his poor decision making, an increased microscope on him and his career they couldn't find one law in America that he broke or is even accused of breaking?

Is he really a threat to public safety or society? Can't be, the judge let him go home with a 2 month continuance. This is all a spectacle. The DA/Judge is a joke.

roll.gif y'all try so hard to keep up with this hood mentality

if you do something wrong I have no problem saying you should be locked up

if probation is too hard to follow then he should of just did the time, simple
post #11711 of 13878
...wtf to wish jail time on another man is horrible if he didnt do anything directly to you. He made a mistake back in 09 and you think he shoulda done 6 years for THAT?? If the situation was flipped onto you, im sure you wouldn't think his 09 crimes are worth 6 years...

If you've ever known anyone that did time or have did time yourself, you know what a 6 year bid can do to him and his family.

This aint a movie :|

6 years for a pistol? Nah.

You right, no one deserves to be in jail my bad everybody makes mistakes laugh.gif who am I to think people should be punished if they get caught breaking the law

Matter fact you should determine what crimes people should be allowed to be locked up for. We should use your judgement bro

Y'all so empathetic to criminals, too cute.

roll.gif but let some thread pop up about someone with a unregistered gun going on a killing spree and all of a sudden it's "we need better gun laws"

His initial 7 month sentence was enough. 6 years is overkill. Might as well just put him away for life with that mentality. I get the whole break the law & face the consequences thing you have & i do agree with that. But 6 years for THAT charge? sick.gif FOH

My point is if you get convicted of a crime, and instead of having to complete the entire sentence you are put back in society on parole and you violate parole IMO you should be back in jail. You were given a second chance and messed it up when in reality you didn't have to get the second chance to begin with.

That mentality that has our people thinking whatever wrong they are doing isn't 'that bad' is the reason they keep getting locked up. If people were held accountable for their actions maybe they would learn their freedom isn't a joke. People always want to be the exceptions to the rule like they're special.

That's not a hood mentality. Forget Meek Mill. You thinking somebody should be locked up 6 or 7 years for a charge like that is retarded.

Have you acknowledged the possibility that Trill (who has been in a situation similar and isn't just passing judgement with no real life experience from behind a computer) brought up where paperwork is behind or someone did their job wrong?

Same thing with the water thing...I doubt dude just walked in there with some Aquafina and poured it into the cup.

Why would I acknowledge that when Meek Mill nor his lawyer didn't mention such as a defense? You really think twitter fingers Meek wouldn't of let the world know that he submitted a travel permit already and they're lying on him? Just wondering

There's an article out right now that talks about how Meek missed an opportunity to be in a Will Smith produced film about some bike gang in Philly because he had a piss test scheduled that day

And in it his manager says that PO's were ignoring his calls for requesting travel vouchers

I'm too lazy to go get it but I'm sure it will make it's way here, or you can just google Will Smith Meek Mill

If this were true, then I'm gonna assume they didn't bring it up because that still puts ultimate fault on Meek Mill as hypothetically he could just sit at home and twiddle his thumbs all day, but c'mon, is dude supposed to sit around and not make money as his PO's ignore his calls?

At the very least, this situation at least exposes that the idea of probation is a trap...dude would have been serving at most an extra year or two if he just stood up and did his time, but they tricked him with the idea of probation and now he's getting sent back over semantics and dumb *** 'problems' that were created by probation, like his parole officer ignoring his calls and potentially messing with his money.

I saw the article where it says he already booked gigs well in advance especially New Year's Eve and he's going to lose money. The reason they say he violated parole is because he was on TV being Nicki's arm candy at a awards show, had nothing to do with a gig/losing money. He wasn't nominated or performing.

I'm sure Meek or his attorney would of mentioned they tried multiple times to get a travel permit and provided proof (call records/copy of travel request sent). Let's assume that Meek really did reach out to his P.O and got ignored, what does that mean? If you know probation is a trap, if you know the DA is out to get you, wouldn't that give you more incentive to make sure you **** is in check?

If my license is suspended and I try to reach out to the DMV to get it reinstated but I get the answering machine then what? Can I go drive my car? I sure can, and if I get pulled over can I say 'I tried to call' laugh.gif nah
