Besides the drugs addiction and constant club prison vacations, seems
like DMX was one of the few who wrote his own ****, and had the cred on and off
camera to boot. nerd.gif

He would flip teams quick and people didn't respect him for it.

One of the first that went the hardest at Pac was Nas.

Its funny because everybody knows Nas's persona he played on records in the middle of his career never existed in real life.

Nas was my favorite rapper when I was younger but I always knew he was conflicted just like Pac, stuck between playing a role on records and who they really were or wanted to be.  That's probably why I can respect Kanye, Kendrick, Cole, Wale,Big Sean, Drake and a couple of the other younger rappers out today.  It doesn't matter if you like them or not but at least they aren't playing a role, they are being themselves.

I can't recall a single time in Pac's career where "damn near every artist from the 90's took shots".  I'd be curious to know who these people were because he worked with a lot of artists from both coasts.

I'm not sure how old you are but everybody took shots at Pac.  It was mostly subliminal but everybody took their shots, this started after the death row era.  Once he passed away that was when it was all love again.

Meek ain't gotta shot. He ain't going against just drake no more he going against Brett hart, Sydney Crosby, arbys, dollar general, bk, Walmart, every city in Idaho so no way he can win. He literally will have to make drake cry on camera and even then they will somehow flip it to an anti bullying campaign and the world would empathize. I like the convo we having in this thread right now tho, way more interesting than mediocre diss tracks

33.  Must have been mostly mainstream east coast folks then.  Interesting thing is he made that One Nation album, as well as made various songs with people from the East during his Death Row stint.

The whole Bad Boy, Jay-Z, Nas, Mobb Deep, and LLCoolJ all went at Pac.  LLCoolJ even said his name on record, my point being that people were not scared of Pac at all.  Pac wasn't universally loved like he is now.

I'll have to look back at my discography of unreleased stuff but I know he did songs with Greg Nice, Bootcamp Click, Big Daddy Kane (I think).  This was during the time he was trying to start his own label (96).
