**Official Meek Mill Thread****Dreamchasers IV Out Now**

Drake is the rap game's James Harden. Ghostwriters are his free throws and help from the refs.

Right now, Harden is considered one of the best handful of players in the world. And the clear best at the SG position. But the SG position is weaker today. Just like the rap game. When it's all said and done though, you likely won't mention him in the same breadth as MJ/Kobe/Wade at the SG position. Just like you can't mention Drake with the Hov's/Nas of the world.

KIA shine was saying it way back when, and I remember reading about some chick saying she was writing for him. But hate aside he's a kanye level entertainer, loved by many around the world. And a kanye level rapper, gets help penning his hits.

Like MJ, Kobe and D.Whistle doesn't get calls from the refs

And we know 100% that Nas and Jay didn't get bars from others?

Isn't here video evidence of Jay doing with Ye in here and the amount of Big's lyrics he used. Oh yeah, I forgot. when Jay does it he is paying homage

This

Why you pushing the Kia Shine thing like he was ghost writing?

Trying to act like it is the same thing

Ya'll sure do go hard trying to defend Drake.

It's like with steroids, well everybody does it. Everybody isn't failing or getting caught so that must not be true. There's a ton of reference tracks floating around involving other rappers, right?

If this involved a rapper you didn't care for you would feel the same way, right?

Hov's spot at the top is solidified. His successes are not suspect.

And that video was inconclusive.

I pray hov had ghostwriters for kc and anything post ag cuz it was all mediocre

I rock with Drake somewhat. He isn't someone I compare with Nas, Jay, 3k or rakim. But, it is not ironic that he once was an actor, so, he definitely is school on scripts and public relations. He's a true thespian so, he does act out these ghostwritten songs really easily. It's weird though because his father is from memphis, a place of RICH music history so, I thought he'd try to be more authentic. The machine is definitely behind dude. It is blatant, with city council men, brands, and media outlets bandwagoning the beef. People who hate rap, and our culture.

 Brah Please. You really gonna take this stance

And I never said it was cool. I said it was a bad look from the jump.

But it seems like for some folk it a crime against music for Drake to use someone else bars, but when other folk do it it is "part of the game"

And if Drake wasn't a rapper you hated would you be acting like you're acting?

If the use of writers in hip-hop was so prevelant and everyone does it...why are we having this conversation?

If Jill Scott came out and said Rihanna doesn't write her music, it wouldn't be such a big debate, because we already know that practice is commonplace in that particular genre.

If it were the same for rap, this wouldn't be garnering so much attention and major radio stations wouldn't be having this same debate and asking people to call in and give their two cents.

The "how do we know everyone else isn't doing it" is like asking "well how do we know every actor wasn't dropping quaaludes in martinis in the 70s"?

There's a reason this subject is so taboo in hip-hop.

If everybody does it cool, I'll get to everyone else when the reference tracks come out. If u played me some Kendrick Lamar reference tracks I'd hope on that slander bus in a second for anyone saying he's the best rapper or one of the best rappers out. No different than drake or anyone else. Let me find out future had help on his 4peat smh **** would hurt my heart.

@ this thread about to go into a sports debate.

Meek either needs to drop the second diss or Drake needs to drop the 3 Peat Death Blow.

Who is it part of the game for?

Does anyone take Eazy, Fat Joe, Puff, or Dr Dre serious as rappers?

Does anyone think Kanye is a top emcee?

Let me find gunplay ain't write his verse on cartoons and cereal... Or if pusha had reference tracks for mnimn. It ain't just because its drake with me but it is that much sweeter that it is since I don't like his music at all. If Gucci ain't write first day out I might commit DAT.

Don't even bother. Using reference tracks and borrowing a bar or two is the same thing when it comes to Drake fans. Everyone borrows lyrics

None of this takes anything away from Drake's ability to consistently output quality music. It just means that for the crowd that cares...he may not be the lyricist we thought he was.

I don't understand why people can't see the difference in making great music and having a great pen. Acknowledging that his pen is in question isn't devaluing his ability to make hits. Same exact scenario with kanye.

I'm not about to delete his music from my iTunes.

Ya'll underselling Drake something vicious. His sound broke barriers like few rappers ever have, just give credit where credit is due. You don't have to like it to appreciate his music and business savvy.

Was the excerpt from the Wu Tang article where Ghost says Rae wrote all their verses for a particular song posted yet? I noticed that I didn't see anyone calling them frauds in here.

What sound barrier did he break? Will Smith, Andre 3000, Kanye, Nelly, etc. have done all of this. Heck, 3 6 Mafia won a Grammy in 2006. This is all a byproduct of fairweather observers who now want to profit off of hip hop. Just being rehashed...
