Visiting a family member in Honolulu for 8 days. What should I do?

Can anyone recommend places to eat?

Places to visit?

Things to do? (ATV, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving)

Shopping?

Lounges/Bars/Clubs

Go to Kakaako Kitchen. http://kakaakokitchen.com/ Without a doubt my favorite place to eat when I was there.

Catch the sunset at the north shore.

Learn to surf. Its super fun but its really really hard to actually catch a wave/or I really suck but it was a blast!

While the shopping is great (you'll feel broke ) dont waste your time, I mean everything is at your fingertips with the internet, you'll be in paradise go enjoy it!

Have fun!

Dunno if youre single or not but hawaiian women is top notch, dat tropic tan and pidgen accent makes my balls melt. have fun with some hookers, theyre everywhere. and lastly just kick back and relax and enjoy being in paradise, hawaii is super chill, def one of my favorite destinations. enjoy famb.

Visit Pearl Harbor

Hike Diamond Head

Hike Manoa Falls

Snorkle at Hanauma Bay

Eat at Giovanni's Shrimp truck

Relax at Waikiki beach

Attend Paradise Cove Luau (not as good as the one in Maui though)

Ride ATV's at Kualoa Ranch

Can't go wrong with just driving up and down the coast and stopping at any of the beaches. Enjoy your time there!

There is a burger joint right off diamond head...it's next to a market...burger was heaven bruh.,,,

Go to the zoo, hike KOKO head :x (if you are not in shape hiking Diamond Head will be better) , hit up Waikiki, Ala Moana Mall is pretty cool, you can buy like $7 snorkeling gear and go to north shore and snorkel, you can visit the Dole plantation, you go to Wet n Wild if you like water parks. Everything is pretty much 35 minutes driving distance, traffic is unavoidable.

Can't believe no one has mentioned a sunset booze cruise. $25 all you can drink for an hour :smokin

If you gotta have a burger, go to Honolulu Burger Company. Kua Aina is overrated!

If you're okay with raw fish, go hit up a supermarket and get some ahi (tuna) poke! Or any kind of poke in general. How can I explain it? Hawaiian carpaccio? What sashimi would be if it were more awesome?

Unless you're really in need of stuff you can only get in Hawaii, it's not really worth bothering with shopping IMO. Go get some In4mation, Fitted, Kicks/HI, etc. shirts/hats/stickers from the stores if anything. If you're from a big city, there's not much more they would have.

If you're down with pork then definitely get some kalua pig (salted pork slow cooked in an underground oven and then shredded) or Portuguese sausage. At the very least, get a laulau (pork, chicken, and/or fish steamed in ti leaves) or an acai bowl!

As far as local beer, I'm suggesting Maui Brewing Company b/c it's the closest you'd get to a local microbrew that's readily available.

Co-sign on Leonard's Malasadas, but Liliha Bakery's coco puffs are also worth a sample. Go on Tuesday morning's to get the freshest ones! Also, if you're not up to driving all the way to the North Shore to eat shaved ice, Shimazu Store is also good and the serving sizes do get a little crazy. I never had it, but I think they have one that's as big as an adult human head.

If you're not down with the beach, I feel sorry for you. My personal favorites are Lanikai, Kailua, Ala Moana, and anywhere on the North Shore. If nothing else, go to see the women in bikinis! The further away from Waikiki you get, the more likely you will see some authentic Hawaiian hotties in my experience.

I was there in October and I'd have to say definitely hike Diamond Head, it doesn't take long to reach the top. Also, definitely eat at Leonard's, Teddy's Burgers, and Hank's Haute Dogs (I had the Saturday special of Bacon Wrapped Lobster Dog). If you can, hit up Pearl City and check out Pearl Harbour. I was able to go in the morning and got a free tour of the place, and then for lunch went to some spot around there Cajun King for some really cheap and good shrimp and lobster. And lastly, try to go to Lanikai Beach and kayak around.

I loveeeee Hawaii man, heaven on earth
really?

ive heard from a few people that its boring
Indeed. Maui is boring. It's beautiful, but there isn't much to do, but for my purposes, that's just fine.

Don't waste your money on jet skis and atv's Go to Cromwells, check out "stairway to heaven", eat at "boots n kimo's ", stay away from waianae. And you'll be straight.

PM. Me for more

I loooove hawaii as well. Was on Honolulu a couple months ago. Love how simple, friendly and laid back life is out and of course how beautiful the islands are. :pimp:
