My friend invited me to go car shopping. He wanted to get the E63 AMG ... We walked in to the Somerville, MA. dealership ... from the time we walked in the sales associate started questioning my friend, his funds and his ability to purchase the car. 30 minutes into the visit, the guy say, before we continue how are you planning on purchasing the vehicle and how good is your credit. Dude didn't even care to try and be discrete about it .. Basically looked at my friend and I and from my personal opinion he formulated a they can't afford this car and just want a joy ride. My friend basically told him does it matter? Just do your JOB and sale me the car .... Dude was like give me a second, I'm going to get you someone that can help you and bounce ...

Neatless to say - he went to the Westwood location and purchase the car in cash. My dude comes from old Asian money and he was ready to purchase ... Dude lost out on a pretty good commission .....

Happens a lot.

too bad for the dealer.

 YOOOOOOO! What in the hell!!!

I hate damn stereotypes..
I know ... This happens a lot in customer service jobs . Always see employees trying to talk down on people because their appearance . Not until the start speaking proper do they get a bit of attention, even then they still trying to treat them like crap.

To be absolutely fair... I'm white.. If I went to a Benz dealership today, with how I look today, and wanted an AMG, they'd be asking me the same damn questions... It doesn't matter what race/nationality you, it's all about your age and look...

funny story.

me and my cousin. both middle eastern wanted to joyride the new toyota frs and we were both 19 at the time. they guy asked us how we were gnna pay. we told him our father is in dubai right now cuz he has an oil company and he was gunna buy it for us. dude went and got the keys right away no questions :smokin :smokin :smokin

I'll be honest.

As an asian, I don't think that stereotype applies to us.

We're known to have money, so unless you're a south asian who looks hispanic I HIGHLY doubt that dude had written ya'll off as pobre.

EVERY dealership does this. It's one of the first questions they ask any potential buyer.

STRONG reach.

exactly my point .. it doesn't matter what race is how you look. The thing is, these cats ain't even caking ... They make good money but they still have to work. However in regards to customer service jobs, a lot of the people doing this are barely getting by ... Why are they do quick to judge when they border line qualify for wealthfare

IDK if srs, dudes at Benz dealerships make good money. granted its feast or famine at a lot of dealerships but generally salesmen can pull in good money.

Top salesmen can clear damn near 100K+.

welfare?

get off your high horse fam.

Looks Hispanic?

Oh

Racist!

yeah I'm racist because I'm not ignorant to the fact that hispanics and blacks are stigmatized and stereotyped in this country. and obviously pointing it out makes me racist.

:rolleyes

right....
