How would the use of PEDs change your perspective of NBA players?

If the NBA decided to test like the MLB and stars such as LeBron, Kobe, Dwight came back positive. would it change your perspective on them?
How so?
I'm just wondering after reading how A-rod was juicing for so long and manage to keep it under wraps (even though everybody knew) if any other athlete from a different sport does this kind of thing and avoids detection. That guy did not play

I think it would be pretty naive to think baseball players are the only ones using PEDs on the regular.

Wouldn't care.  NFL players are for sure on HGH also.
Well......there is a real shocker for you.  A Seahawks fan doesn't care about PEDs.

let your feelings out, its all going to be ok

I dont know why all professional sports dont have consistent standards when it comes to testing.

Either way, not really. I dont really know how much of a "performance enhancer" HGH actually is when taken by itself. Its usually always stacked with something else (ie test, etc..), but for some reason HGH gets all the blame.

Pretty sure studies have shown it to not have an anabolic effect, it wont make you stronger, but more of a benefit for cell recovery and rejuvenation. If thats the case, then by definition is it really performance enhancing?

It wouldn't matter to me.

With all the new science and technology that is available I believe that more athletes are on ped's than not. The MLB has just been the only league stupid enough to make this a central part and discussion point when it comes to their league.

David Stern and Roger Goodell aren't dumb enough to throw all of their superstars under the bus and I'm not complaining.

No, because morality has no business in professional sports leagues anyway. It's only entertainment.

I believe we allow PED's to change our perspective on players when we want it to.

It wouldn't, because I already assume many of them are using them.

Wouldn't care. If PEDs are what enabled a guy like Kobe to average 27 ppg in his 17th season , then I'm 100% fine with that.

Westbrook just had a pretty intense pre-game workout before the Memphis game & some people think that he'll return much quicker than expected. If PEDs allowed that to happen, then I'm 100% fine with that.

I watch sports to be entertained. If PEDs allow guys to play at a higher level that they couldn't reach otherwise or return from injury faster, then I have no problem with it.

if i found out that lebron and kd were taking peds i would be mad at kobe for NOT taking them

this is sports, winning >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> everything

thats probably why they dont test the same for the NBA, they play more games than other sports and their bodies are put through more trauma, it would seem like a must for them to use something that aids in quick cell recovery

now stuff to make them jump higher/ run faster is lame imo, but then again they get paid the big bucks to entertain and i will never be mad at what they do with their bodies

to me, the argument ends once you look at hs footage tho, Rose has BEEN jumpin out the gym, there are hs players who can run low 4.2s and these kids are only 15, i play with guys who are only 5'9-6'1 and can yoke so far back, they smack they own ***, n a few of em are just 16/17 yo kids who cant afford to eat properly let alone buy PEDs

Wouldn't change my feelings just like baseball. Don't eem care if dudes are juicing etc.

i wouldn't be surprised one bit if it came out that guys are using adderall or something . they're entertaining me , that's how i see it ...

PED's don't bother me at all.

I know damn well most of the players in the NFL and NBA are on "somethin" so it wouldn't change my opinion on any of them.

Bottom line, I rather see dudes play at the ultimate level, then everyone shrunk down to nothin, getting injured every other day and being reduced to leagues full of 6 foot white dudes "ballin" like it's the local YMCA.

There's a PED to make your jumper wetter?

Baseball players were comically huge and cumbersome. For a good 2 decades the sport was a pissing contest about who can hit more balls farther, that's what made their whole PED scandal so pathetic.

Basketball is a whole different animal.

The engine of the current NBA era are the smallest players on the court. The Lillards, Lil Zeke's, Rondo's, Kyrie's and CP3s. Nothing about these cats indicates PED usage, their greatest assets are their minds.

^que? Anyway it would def . Diminish thier legacy. But it's just part of that culture and always has been in different forms albeit.

i wouldn't care because there isn't much consistency. why is adderall against the rules, but shots of toradol for pain are allowed? who legislates what is performance enhancing, and what isn't and on what basis?

steroids can also help you recover faster from injury, and stay healthier. steroids doesn't just mean becoming hulk.

and using steroids doesn't help you hit a baseball, but it'll help you hit it farther if you square it up.

Injury recovery doesn't help you perform better during games so I could care less.

The PED taken by baseball players directly affect their in game performance.

If you clean, and sprain your ankle badly, you can't play the next game.

If you usin, and sprain your ankle badly and CAN play the next game, that is absolutely helping your in game performance.

LOL. you mean to tell me, if two guys tore ________ ligament. one guy uses and the other doesn't. the guy who uses comes back substantially faster than the guy who doesn't. that isn't affecting on court performance, considering the other guy isn't even playing?

But if you're trash, take a banned substance for a speedy recovery and play the next game....your'e still trash.

There's a difference between a true performance enhancer and a banned substance.

Certain banned substances are potentially dangerous in the long run and can help players recover faster and several NBA players have already been caught doing that, i.e. Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu. Ironically (or not), they were B- level players, trying to keep their careers afloat after injury, those drugs didn't make them perform any better.

Totally different from the MLB, where some of the players regarded as the best ever were taking heavy levels of various dangerous drugs that helped them perform at never before seen levels, skewing the whole perception and legacy of the game.

Ain't no PED to make your crossover, change of pace, jumper trajectory, ball IQ, etc better.

I'm sure that there is a fair amount of banned substance use going on in the NBA but the nature of the sport, minimalizes the impact of that usage.

Perfect example.... look at the Bash Brothers vs The Splash Brothers.

We're not talking just about people who "are trash".  What about going from good to very good, or very good to great, or out of the league to a bench spot?  The margins are what make the difference....  And modern PEDs can close that gap.
