**OFFICIAL CROSSFIT THREAD** **NO BULLIES ALLOWED**

People still rip their hands? Wow.
Probably the most easily avoidable "injury" in CF.

Definitely, but people don't know or are too lazy to maintain their hands.

Also, if volume is heavy, tape of batting gloves will be worn automatically.

Whats up guys. Checking in from across the pond here.

Been doing CrossFit for getting on for 2 years now and love it. We have a pretty good CF community going on over here that is steadily getting bigger and bigger with lots of boxes popping up (some good, some bad as you would expect).

My local is pretty decent with a v good coach and decent programming. We get a lot of the USAF guys from the local bases coming in which is cool (Mildenhall and Lakenheath if any of you know/are in the Air Force).

If people are interested, i put nearly all the WOD's i do up on my instagram (OWEN_G23) so feel free to check that out if you want to.

Anyway, i'll check back in later with tonight's workout.

Nice!

I've been dabbling in programming, from programming for a week to now programming for function i.e "long term progression". I'm trying to perfect programming in six to eight week cycles.

Would love to post daily programming here, but don't want to be the only one posting, so might do it here and in the fitness thread. Figured that it wouldn't hurt.

^ that's a decent weeks plan man. Some good stuff in there.

This is what I did tonight:

WOD 1

12 min EMOM (Every Minute On the Minute)

2 x Back squat

WOD 2

12 min ladder of 10 - 20 - 30 - 40
Wall Balls
Push Ups
10m Run (100m, 200m, 300m, 400m)

Didn't go too crazy on the back squat today as had a bit of a sore knee from my hockey game on Saturday. Went for a steady 100kg ( 220lb) on that (started on 80kg for the first set then 90 then 100 for the final 10 sets).

Got 32 wall balls on the round of 40 for the 2nd WOD. The push ups were the killer there!

So who's planning on doing the open workouts?

I'm going to give 14.1 a go tonight. Not expecting massive numbers as my snatch isnt great.

Not this year, but next year I'll make a run at it. Just observing this year.

Cranked out a workout inspired by 14.1

10-1
Power Snatch @95
DB Squat Jumps w/30 lb

It was a little burner.

i havent crossfitted in over a year now, but just found out my old box is actually getting a real oly coach and they're having dedicated oly classes. makes me want to go back because that was the part i enjoyed most about crossfit.

but peeped the 14.1 workout, watched the announcement online. comparing fisher's score to what froning got in 2011 :x  dude is too beast.

seems like a fun workout, might try it out this weekend.

It was quite fun actually. Wasnt as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I got 212 reps on Friday which was more than i expected.

I reckon i could have got a few more as my double unders weren't great.

My double unders suck, only got five rounds in (225 reps). Forearms were burning though.

Nice!

Yeah my forearms were wrecked afterwards too. did think about giving it another go but doubt i would improve that much more. going see whats on the board at the box tonight and do that.

Sup my dudes! New to the forum. For those of you that Crossfit, cross train etc.
What are your thoughts on nike getting involved and making a shoes to rival Reebok nano and new balance minimus line?

Since when was there a crossfit thread? I love crossfit.

14.3 looks ridiculous. Dave Castro has to chill with his programming. Heavy deadlifts isn't something to be done high volume and for time.

It's a good thing I'm not competing for the open. I am scaling that ****!

I love my Nanos, but if Nike ends up putting better shoes..

If Nike get involved with CrossFit it will be great.

Looking at some of the new Frees that are coming out and some of the adverts (especially for the Trainer 5.0's) it looks like they may be heading in that direction.

I believe Reebok have a fairly long deal with CrossFit so it will be a while before we see any official CrossFit gear/shoes from Nike, but with CrossFit becoming more and more popular, it is inevitable that Nike will get involved somehow even if it is in the same vein as Inov-8 with releasing shoes for 'Functional Fitness' and so on.

As for 14.3... Gave it a go on Friday and got 96 reps.. Was hoping for 100 but my lower back wasn't having it after a fairly heavy week so i wasnt too unhappy.

Yea, it is inevitable that nike gets involved. Crossfit is getting really popular. I just hope it doesn't get too popular. I like exactly where it is now.

That 14.3 was just idiotic.  Guarantee I would have hurt myself had I gone

Rumor has it Reebok signed a 10 year deal with CrossfitHQ in 2005, and Nike was supposed to get a stab at it after.
I think Crossfit originally approached Nike and was turned down.. sucks.

The current 5.0 or any of the Free's with the split sole and heel are worthless. Load transfer to floor is horrible.
Ive been looking at some indoor soccer shoes, like the lunar gato 2 or even the SB to train in, but I am afraid they may be too narrow.

I hit 14.3 on friday, it wasnt bad. My back was fine. 146 I may have to redo it, since my judge didnt keep track of my tie breaker. :frown:
