Adidas KB8 II Returns...

oh man... these are hot

. especially the white colorway. PRAYING I see a Kobe II retro thread very soon considering all these other drops as of late

Do all these adidas crazy retros and what not have feet you wear built in but just using another name? or did they completley replace feet you wear in the crazy 8,97 ect?

been wondering that for some time now

Here's another colorway of the whites that was back then:

wanted these back then, but didn't get them. always loved the purple pair. all adidas kobes after these were downhill...

definition of grails for me. I've ran across whites black and purples in all sizes except mine :smh:
now that they finally retroed the gloves, these are probably my most looked forward to retro in a very long time

I apologize in advance if this was already common knowledge that hasn't made it to me, or if no one cares, just thought I'd share:

So I kept looking and looking at the pics of Shump in the greys of the new retro of the KB8 II and it just kept looking off and *flat* on the outsole, if that makes sense.

There was something the soles and how they came towards the uppers that made them look way different than the originals, even from the side

Then I saw this pic

And compared it to these

And then I suddenly realized what the problem was. It *looks* (I could be completely wrong) like the new sole has been completely retooled and the took away the OG torsional element that ran under the Feet You Wear pods and made it one molded piece making it much more like a normal shoe outsole (and removing torsional support unless they added an embedded shank).

WHY ADIDAS, WHY? To me, the FYW was one of my favorite aspects of the early Kobe line and adidas gear in general. In addition to changing the look of the shoe (for the worse imo), I can't see what performance advantage taking out the torsional support has except maybe shedding weight. I know the Crazy 1 was retooled, but that was mostly herring bone spacing. Why did adidas need to mess with these?

It seems like a step back, kind of like these monstrosities instead of the Tmac 2

I at least get the fact that the "Return of the Mac " was trying to update the outsole with more current adidas tech, but why give us a mutant before the original? Even Reebok gave us Question after Question before the Q96. Again, sorry for the rant, just thought I'd share my outrage. And, like I said, I accept full culpability if I'm waaaay off base and just looked at the pictures wrong and the retros are wonderful.

The soles really bother me. Was it that much more work or did it save that much more money?

I'll still cop. I expect these to be around for $50 and $60. OGs are pretty much impossible so I'll take them

Patent issue, Adidas didn't invent the FYW design, a professor did. Although I think they obtained the right or just using the FYW name.

Yeah something like that...

However the recent Keyshawn Johnson Trainers have the actual FYW logo on them. Not sure what's up

this needs to have the original sole or else, i aint buying at all. lol these r like in my top 5 grails of all time, but if they come out like that with a flat sole. easy passs

So it's just one solid sole now? Man that's lame. Why do they have to mess up things that don't need to be changed... there's a bunch of adidas retros that kept the same sole, and like dude above said they even have the fyw logo on the new keyshawns..

And yes those t macs are real, they retroed them in that sole
