as many great memories I have at the stick, that place was a dump.

never forget going to my first baseball game in the 80s. sitting right behind the dugout and goin home with a Giants batting glove :nthat:

Red I typically agree with you but I cant on this (or anyone who shares your opinion).

Aside from Levi's not being in San Francisco, there is nothing about Candlestick that is better. Nothing. Ok maybe the turf too. But my point remains.

That's just it. There was literally nothing to do at the Stick but watch the game. There's way too much frivolous, unnecessary ******** at Levis.

I wanted a football stadium with a home field advantage, not a 49er-themed amusement park. The Seacocks did an amazing job with the Clink.

Jed lying his *** off last week saying seats were filled a few minutes into the 3rd. Don't believe it. Those empty seats stayed empty 2nd half. I literally wondered if I could move to midfield every game knowing if the seat owners came back I could just move a seat over.

And I heard a lot about the unshaded seats on the east side of the stadium. It really isn't that hot in Santa Clara. Anyone complaining about the heat is a *****.

What about the stadium has an amusement park feel to it though? The museum that costs 20 freakin bucks to get into that Is empty during games?

Sorry dont mean to come at you, but I feel like most people are complaining just to complain. We dont have a bunch of slides like AT&T Park does. We dont have build a bear factory like AT&T Park does. We dont have bowling alley, an organic garden or a kids play area like AT&T Park does. AT&T Park certainly is a great home field advantage in spite of al that. So what about Levi's is different in your opinion? Because it certainly does not have the distractions that our baseall park has.

I wouldn't call it an amusement park but there are definite distractions. The biggest one I think is the amount of wifi that's offered. With how popular fantasy football is I've sat around people looking down at their phones checking stats from other games to keep up with their fantasy teams. Also, something I think could help is the concession service. The Levi's stadium app offers concessions brought to you but for $5/service. That's outrageous. If they offered it for free or even a reasonable lower price people would stay in their seats more. There's a team store inside the stadium and people were buying merchandise after the game had started and even after halftime was over. I'm not even sure why there's a Michael Mina restaurant.

I get what you're saying, but you cant compare baseball to football. The home crowd has almost zero impact on the game in baseball, while a football crowd, like Seattles, can create chaos at the line of scrimmage. Not to mention a football crowd is supposed to be a lot more mature and boisterous than a baseball crowd.

As for the amusement park notion, its all the stupid novelty **** like a million food concessions/restaurants, museum, private lounges, wifi/cellphone bs, "chilling area corridors", etc. Its sad seeing our stadium 2/3 empty after half. They literally spent money to create vegan food concessions. Wtf? That money should have gone towards fixing the ******* field or designing the stadium to increase crowd noise. All these stupid ******** amenities designed to keep the average fan doing everything EXCEPT watch the god damn game. So much for a homefield advantage.

I didnt even touch on the exorbitant prices, which has dramatically altered the quality of fan at the game. Caters to these silicon valley pencil-pushing hipsters. 

The stick was a dump, but it was raw. It was visceral. It had an aura to it. 

I know I am in the hardcore minority, but I am not there to have a good "experience"; I am there to see my team win. Not a god damn penny of mine will be spent that **** hole.

It comes down to who is going to the games now.

Companies like Yahoo and United have entire floors in the corporate tower and I can't even fathom how much money they put into that stadium.  They allocate their tickets to techies or other professionals who might enjoy the game and are knowledgable but won't feel the need to have an impact.  

I myself enjoy watching games live but I don't feel like screaming just because the Rams have a 3rd and 8 on our 20 yard line.  I might have been in the minority at the Stick but it's the majority at Levi's.
 
honestly just give it time. The interest in those distractions will wane.

The fans will eventually sniff enough of the new stadium smell and chill to watch the game. It was the first year after all.

Good point about Att park having hella **** too. The reason I think that's helped us is because we've manufactured a home field advantage by giving the fans everything they could want to forget they have 3 long hours of baseball to sit through. Come playoffs the fans feel like there's just the game now. It's an interesting advantage we have there.

So I'm just curious what the atmosphere will be like during post season.

I still ain't giving jed's bum *** my money though.
 
the most interesting and disappointing sign of our times that I saw at Levis was the verizon cell phone charging station. walking back to my seat from the concessions, i saw a group of 4 or 5 people waiting around it in the middle of the game.

There isn't a stadium in the United States of America that doesn't have cell phone charging stations now.
 
I ran into Jarryd hayne and Paul miller over the weekend. Dude was surprised that I actually knew who he was. Jarryd was asking me for directions and I had trouble understanding the guy. Paul miller had to ask me the question. They nice dudes though, surprised hayne was driving a Ford Edge. Then I realized what his guaranteed contract money was.
 
Jarryd Hayne better learn to run with lower pad level, or dude will go back to Australia in a wheel chair.

Yeah I agree also. But both him and Paul miller looked cramped as fuh. In that thing. Also dudes were trying to get a clean fade before they went to Santa Cruz and went to some hole in the wall hair cut spot. Wouldn't be surprised if he came out with a bowl haircut. Lol

That's hilarious.  I ran into Jarryd Hayne this weekend too.  He was out at Old Pro on Friday Night!
