Good to see Hayne get that UA deal :pimp:

Crazy how he left $4mil a year on the table in Australia to play for a rookie contract in the US

But sponsorships will get him back up there

:pimp: :pimp:

I'm on my phone, so I can't type it out as thoroughly as like, but I wouldn't worry at all about his production from last year. Not to mention he's playing a different role this year as a 4-3 end.

Buts it's the tools. The ridiculously explosive first step, hand strength, and the motor. He is tenacious as ****, and he does a great job of keeping his hips square to the tackle and churning those feet. He might be the physically strongest player at his position in the league.

Btw Aldon was eased in with a specialty role. Mack had to play as a starter in a role I don't think suited his skill set. I think the perfect role for him would be Ahmad role of 3-4 strong OLB.

It's the tools.

So red....hope you dont mind continuing this conversation....we can switch to PM if you want.

So I am going to preface this by saying I am aware that you have probably forgotten more football than l know.

But I watched the whole Raider game today. Much like 75% of the games I watched last year, Mack was pretty much invisible today. He did not affect the game at all. I know the guy appears to have the tools, but I just feel like something is missing. He just seems to be taken out of the game far more often than he really affects it. Maybe I am wrong. Time will tell.

No, you're 100% right. he looked horrible. too dependent on the physical tools without using the cognitive aspect of the game. he has to learn how to set up his opponent instead of being so predictable if he's going to be a pure pass rusher. he looks kind of unnatural rushing out of a 3-point stance, too.

i still feel like he's still not in the best situation that maximizes his skill set. he's a prototypical 3-4 strong side OLB. he's more than just a pass rusher IMO, and i think he's at his best when he's pass rushing, setting the edge and dropping back into space. just imagine him playing the ahmad brooks role. i always envisioned him as ahmad brooks with way better physical tools.

andrew whitworth was stonewalling everyone pass rushing his side, tho. one of the best pass protecting left tackles in the game. aldon looked like trash as well.
