Kaepernick will be on the prime time stage this Sunday with the eyes of the entire NFL on him. Things could get ugly fast.

Might be best to change up the line and throw Gabbert out there to see how they do. If they get manhandled, it'll only be Gabbert taking the lumps.
Kap is the QB of this team.  I was all in favor of benching him in the Cardinals game.  But benching a player in a game for poor performance is one thing.  Benching him for the start of a game for a player of Gabbert's caliber?  No way.

Use a benching to send a message, not create issues.

media is dumping on kaep, caling for his head, along with a lot of callers on the radio, but I refuse to believe that gabbert will do anything effective but hand the ball off to Hyde. even with the turnstile offensive line we had last year, Kaep is still on par to be sacked more this year. i doubt gabbert will fair any better.

i might be wrong, i might be stubborn, but i fully believe that giving gabbert the starting role this sunday is like saying we're throwing in the towel for the season.

all this talk about Goff is silly. tanking for a chance to grab him early would be a moot point. dude wouldn't have a chance to be effective with this current line. we need to grab straight maulers at tackle and guard before this team considers a new QB. it aint sexy, but if the right side of the line continue to be useless in both passing and running plays, I hope baalke revisits that strategy from 2010 and picks up lineman in next year's draft.

Y'all can't seriously be surprised by all this...we knew this was going to happen. The way the offseason went we were the most predictable team going into the season :smh:

even with the tumultuous off season, i still expected a better start than this. what's thoroughly surprising and disappointing is how anemic this offense is through the air. with torrey and hyde becoming starters, if anything, I was under the impression that the offense would be able to carry this team while the defense took a step back with the loss of patrick, aldon, borland, cowboy and cox. instead, we're stuck in singletary era.

Exactly this... Now like I said earlier before we can give up on Kap, give him a legitimate line to work with where he doesnt have to be able to constantly worry about being hurried 99.9% of the time

If he has a legit line and still can't produce then I'm fine with moving on because theres no way with the weapons the 9ers have that he shouldnt be able to produce

Fix up C/RG/RT then see how things go from there

I'm not disagreeing. I agree that the line needs to be shaken up before any moves regarding kap are contemplated.

Kap suffers the same way David Boston suffered from a physical standpoint. He's too big to be elusive or shifty. All that time in the weight room is counterproductive, there is a such thing as too big.

kap simply doesn't have the genetics to what wilson does. kap is a long strider and he has to work to get to top speed. he has very little short area quickness. wilson is the opposite. he has very good short area quickness and change of direction. they both have about the same amount of muscle mass on them. wilson might even have more relative to his body type.

kap has slow feet. he might beat wilson in 40 yard dash, but wilson's feet make kap look like he's moving in mud when you compare their short area quickness.

davis boston was just a idiot. dude literally got to IPF bodybuilder status.

Goes back to the height difference, hence why we don't rarely see backs over 6'2

Like how Brandon Jacobs was, dude wasn't shifty at all because of his height

Yup, most of the QBs with the greatest feet are around 6'-6'2

Joe Montana, Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, etc

Whatever hopefully I wake up tomorrow looking forward to a headline like "Tomsula gives the oline a twist" or something like that

Bruh that would be amazing :pimp: I ******* hate the York family with a passion.

I wonder if it crossed Magic Johnsons mind while he was here

Magic is here for many reasons. One reason for him to be here in Silicon Valley is that he is a board member with Square. His reach extends further with the Dodgers obviously as well as broader business connections that may/can overlap with people like the 49ers ownership.NBA exhibition games are starting up (Warriors were at SAP against the Raptors with more games next week) There is also a Super Bowl in Santa Clara in February. If I'm Magic why would I not be in the building networking...
