i thought the same thing about red80, SN came out the woodworks, almost immediately after Jecca was kicked out the championship thread :lol:

it may feel like we're the eagles of the early 2000s, but i have a strong feeling that next season, we'll be seeing the NFCC at Levi stadium rather than CLink.

looking forward, the game last week gave me some confidence about this team playing up in Seattle. we didn't get punked and kaep kept his composure despite the crowd.

I hope so. Just gonna be even tougher next year with everyone else in the NFC getting better.

That's still one of the more damning things to me about the NFCG is how they came so close to winning the game despite all that happened. :smh:
 
I'm gonna watch, but def in the crib. Hate watching the game with people that don't watch football. Made the mistake last yr for the superbowl. And there was soooooo much Ravens and Ray Lewis D-riding and hearing chicks comment on Beyoncé outfit and loyalty, almost threw up.
 
Can't agree more^ . Super Bowl party's aren't me I wanna really watch the game and people make it tough when they have zero football IQ. Did it last year and I wanted to swing on my boys at halftime.

Niner games its a definite not leaving the crib. Had to do it for week 10 Carolina this year 1st time Ive watched a game in public in ages. I was in Hawaii and everybody is genuinely nice there. I Was losing my mind at people who came over and talked to me about the niners while the game was tight. Kept my
Cool but I was close to letting this San Diego fan to Shut the F up he wanted to talk to me bout Jerry Rice. Didnt have any idea who Keenan Allen was?? Dude said he had been a fan for 25 years what I took from the conversation was you don't have to even like football to be a charger fan.

Hey Faithful, helluva year. Sorry for the late post but here goes. Yes, we didn't accomplish our goal but we have to commend our team. Kudos to my man, Bowman man. He sacrified his body for us this year and it was a shame he didn't get credit for that fumble. But I am not going to blame anyone but us. Give them credit, they played well. Anyway, let's continue to keep being Faithful and hopefully we accomplish our quest for six next year in our brand new Levi's Stadium. Honestly, this loss didn't hurt as much like the Super Bowl. Sigh. Go Niners!
 
ive been thinking all day about how much the future advancement of the team is really dependent on marcus lattimore being the real deal. frank is amazing don't get me wrong, but his style of play is more methodical, navigating his way thru the smallest crevices and running so low that he avoids taking damage. What the Niners need is a big, physical RB that can beat up opposing defenses, grind them down and have them worn out in the later game. A real 1 cut, down hill, big(~5'10, ~220lbs), physical powerhouse of a RB.  Having that big physical RB in late games is like bringing in that closer with the triple digit heat to overpower tired bats. One of our principle football philosophies is being a physical football team that pounds the rock but we lack a physical, power runningback. This is one huuuuge advantage that Seattle has over us with Lynch. As much as we dont want to see it we need someone to come next training camp and steal the job from frank whether that's lattimore or someone else.

having that future cornerstone already on the roster would be huge for this team.

Seattle needs to win now though. I think Lynch could be a cap casualty even though I personally believe he's the key to their offense, not Wilson. But they have too many upcoming FAs they won't be able to keep them all. Our core guys are basically locked up sans Crabtree and Kaepernick. The truth is even though we lost we are structured much better for the upcoming future than they are. Yes they hit on a ton of their draft picks, but the downside is that you can't keep them cheap forever. Sherman is making $500k and he's worth the money Revis is getting. They've got a lot of underpaid guys whereas we have guys getting what they feel they deserve. We'll be fine next year and beyond and I have no doubt we'll reclaim the west next year.

Lynch may not be here much longer but they already have his replacement on the roster in Christine Michael. Another big, physical RB awaits.

and you're right its going to be interesting to see what happens with Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman. Both of those guys are looking like they'll be the highest paid at their positions.

btw I don't know if it's been discussed but if we don't extend Kap this offseason and he balls out next year it will be a disaster for us. Not only will he get big money thrown at him from other team, but if we were forced to use the franchise tag next year it would destroy our salary cap and instantly put us over. Remember when you the franchise tag $$$ is added for THAT year. I was listening to matt maiocco the other day and he pretty much said that with the money kap is going to get we'll probably only re-sign aldon and lose both iupati and crabtree.

Totally agree with this entire post, sans the bolded.  This loss hurt SO much more to me than the Superbowl last year (even in spite of it ruining our perfect record).

Reason being, we absolutely should have won this game.  I know you could say that we should have won the Superbowl too, but the fact of the matter is we allowed 34 points in the Superbowl....and no team in the history of the Superbowl has given up 30 points and won the game (in fact there has only been 2 SB winning teams to give up 25+).  Add that to the fact that we were down 3 touchdowns at one point, the Superbowl was a little easier for me to swallow.

I kind of feel you on this but the most damning thing out of the season-ending losses we've had the last 3 seasons; is how poorly or average we played but yet still could have won the game. Just fuggin kills me man. I totally get what you mean by we had no business still having a chance to win the SB last year but how close they were to still pulling off the miracle comeback :x |I and it was a similar script this last game vs the Seahawks and you could say even worse since we were leading a good chunk of the game and seemingly had control of the flow.

We've been relatively fortunate in most areas since Harbaugh took over but just think how much crazier it'd be if they were just a little more "fortunate":
Year 1: if we had scraped by the Giants; I see no reason why we couldn't have beaten the Patriots in the same way the Giants did
Year 2: pulling off the greatest comeback in SB history? All the conspiracy theories that'd be out there right now and all the talk of how we're the luckiest team ever :lol:
Year 3: If we'd been able to pull off the comeback drive in Seattle and somehow finished the job vs Peyton and Broncos? :x :x :x

Can't spend too much time pondering "what if this" and "what if that" but makes you wonder...

The quest for six continues on...
 
We shouldve won in seattle and it was a tough loss but the losses always hurt more the farther you go. Granted we didn't play well in the 1st half of the sb but still came up a few yards short of a championship...that stings. However the last lost I can almost put up there with the sb lost because of the Bowman injury. I would be surprised if he plays at all next season and if he does I doubt its much or at a high level.

I was reading thru a couple of previous posts concerning the window for winning a title being wide open for the next few years. Tho I tend to side with that line of thinking, its gonna depend on the previius and this season's draft classes. If the players who were hurt develop into key contributors and/or starters and get some depth in key positions out of this season's class, niners will be in great shape. Cant have either of the classes wind up like 2012's.
