yeah, but all those hits were on receivers where he could be sensible with his hits and brace himself.

whenever he has to tackle a RB in space with a full head of steam, RIP Reid. he's become a huge liability. dude has been taking horrible angles to the ball carrier in run defense all year, and i would attribute it to his fear of sustaining another concussion. this is football. you can't play scared. the game is already dangerous as it is without playing with fear.

agreed. he's just not the same. can't blame him for not wanting to get more concussions, but at the same time you can't be worried about it on the field

and BTW, that was absolutely another concussion sustained yesterday. i would bet my life on it. from all my years of participating in and spectating football and combat sports, if there is one thing i have a discerning eye for, it is spotting concussions.

Anyone that has been watching football for a decent amount of time can tell for sure. Look at the way his arms buckled and locked up.

He really has regressed imo, and that is beyond laying any wood. Like you said his run support, and open field tackling and pursuit.

i want jimmie ward to play his natural position in center field. i think him and tartt would be a formidable duo. 

plus, it would allow you to utilize him to cover receivers and NOT bring in a sub package, which would help the front vs teams like seattle who like to manipulate our defense and run against the soft box.

Agreed. That would be a nice duo with some great flexibility. To use as an example again, Honey Badger is like a Hybrid out there, they bring him down and they use him to cover that slot. I could see Ward doing the same, he is already so much better since he's been forced to do it.

As much work as our offense needs, I just want to have an elite defense again. It's just so fun to watch a great defense fly out there.

Not just that but this isn't the yr to be reaching for a qb in the 1st with soooooo much defensive talent. Paxton is a nice prospect as is Goff but I don't know about picking them where we'll end up drafting

if you follow the leaks and the Niner PR, you can infer exactly what will happen this offseason:

1.) Tomsula will be here next season

2.) OC Geep Chryst and ST coachThomas McGaughey, Jr. will be fired 

3.) We will NOT draft a QB in the 1st round

4.) Kap might still be here next season

The only team in front of us that would take a qb is the Browns

1) Titans have Mariotta
2) Browns need unless they happy with Manziel
3) Ravens have Flacco
4) Charges have Rivers
5) Cowboys have Romo
