we'd be lucky to get a 4th round pick in the CFL for both the turd of a QB and the unreliable, big mouth ************.
Stanford’s Garnett eager to impress 49ers
It’s not known how interested the 49ers are in Josh Garnett, but this much is obvious: The Stanford guard is very interested in the 49ers.

Garnett is a likely second-round pick, but he eagerly participated in the 49ers local pro day today in Santa Clara. Elite prospects such as Garnett are usually only spectators at the event which is teeming with fringe prospects, but the Outland Trophy winner wanted to make an impression on the 49ers.

At Stanford, Garnett (6-foot-4, 312 pounds) was known as a mauler in a power-based offense. However, he believes he also has the athleticism to thrive in Chip Kelly’s offense, which features a zone-blocking scheme that requires agility from offensive linemen.

“I want to show that I can run zone and I can do all that stuff,” Garnett said. “I don’t want to just leave it to the film. Whatever you can do. If you really want to come to a team and you really feel like you have a good fit, like I feel like I would have here, you want to do everything possible to put yourself in a position to get picked up by that team.

“What better thing to do to come out here and let coach put his hands on you, see you run around? … I’m not going to leave it to chance or just on the film. I wanted to get out here and really show them what I could do.”

The 49ers count guard as one of their many positions of need and Garnett indicated he met extensively with their coaches at Stanford’s pro day on March 17. He already knew Kelly, who recruited him when he was the head coach at Oregon and Garnett was at Puyallup (Wash.) High.

“I’ve really built a relationship with the (49ers) coaches, which has been awesome,” Garnett said.

Garnett’s dad, Scott, was a defensive end who had a three-year, 27-game NFL career that included a three-game stint with the 49ers in 1985. Scott Garnett was an eighth-round pick of the Broncos in 1984 and also played for the Chargers and Bills, but Garnett said his parents are loyal to the 49ers.

“Dad’s a huge 49ers fan,” Garnett said. “Mom was ecstatic to hear that I was coming to the 49ers local pro day. She was really happy, so I’ve got to send here a picture of me in the (49ers) hat.”

***************************************************

As noted in this story during the combine, Garnett is a human biology major who plans to be a trauma surgeon after his NFL career. He’s worked in a cell biology lab and done job-shadowing in an emergency room.

“I just love being able to see the high-intensity environment,” Garnett said. “Everyone’s working together. The quarterback is the head doctor. You have the nurses, kind of the offensive linemen of the thing, doing the dirty work but not getting the credit for it. But everyone is real locked in and working as a team.”

at this point, I believe Goff is going to fall to us barring a team trading up....

1.) Laremy Tunsil

2.) Carson Wentz

3.) Jalen Ramsey

4.) Joey Bosa

5.) Myles Jack

6.) Deforest Buckner

I'm ready.

Isn't the QB class for next year going to be trash? If so I can definitely see a team trading up to get Goff or Wentz

I wouldn't mind though, especially if that means we land Buckner or Jack

As of right now, yes, it's not very impressive. Deshaun Watson is pretty damn nice, but I wouldn't take him over Wentz nor Goff. I want to see if Brad Kaaya shows any growth next season.

2018, however, could be a very special QB class...

i wonder what team will be desperate enough to trade away their draft to jump us for a QB...

I know Josh Rosen...who else?

Kyle Allen and Max Browne. Deshaun Watson if he stays in school another year.

Still very early in the process. Need to see a ton of growth from everyone, including Rosen.

It's crazy how fast things change over a season or two. IMO, Dak Prescott was a joke before last year. Today, he looks like a solid prospect with his arrow pointing upwards.

I wasn't as big of a Goff guy from the jump! That team was terrible, tho.

The grind never ends!

James Bradberry has Baalke written all over him. day 3 target.

James Bradberry, CB, Samford

6'1", 221lbs, 33 3/8"
STRENGTHS Well built with the size that defensive coordinators look for from NFL cornerbacks. Plays with adequate lateral quickness and reactive athleticism when transitioning forward. Drives hard to the throw looking to make a play on the ball at the catch point. Long arms with ability to aggressively jam and redirect receivers off the snap. Uses length and size to trap receivers against the sideline from press. Plus ball tracking ability on downfield throws. Looks comfortable in zone coverage with feel for routes that are developing around him. Rarely out of position as run supporter. Will use sideline as his ally against run and is diligent with containment on the perimeter.

WEAKNESSES Base and balance need quite a bit of work from press coverage. Below average, clunky footwork transitioning from press into coverage. Looks unsure of himself against receivers with initial quickness off the snap. Has issues maintaining feel against inside release and gives up too much separation to start the rep. Gets turned too easily in coverage and is sluggish in his change of direction. Gets too locked in on man in front of him and doesn't show innate awareness and instincts. Might not be able to transition to safety. Appears lacking in alpha aggressiveness. In run support, ducks head into contact and doesn't drive through the target. Need to see more hustle and less complacency from him on backside. Waits too long to rally to the ball when it is away from him.

SOURCES TELL US "I'm hearing his name come up quite a bit on the road. Anytime a corner looks the part physically, he's going to get plenty of attention because those guys are still fairly rare in our league. Can he play? Senior Bowl will be big for him." -- AFC area scout

BOTTOM LINE Long, well-built cornerback who plays with enough ball skills to interest teams. On tape, Bradberry shows consistent issues with his footwork from press coverage and gives up too much separation to quick receivers early in routes. A step up in competition may be challenging for him early on and despite his size, his best spot may be as a zone corner.

"ESPN's Mark Dominik believes a Colin Kaepernick-to-Denver deal is "done," and contingent only on the 49ers drafting a quarterback.

If Dominik's belief is correct, the trade would go down on draft day. A former NFL general manager, Dominik bases this belief on the fact that Kaepernick formally visited the Broncos' facility, and "you never let a player visit (another) club without (the) trade and contract already figured out." Dominik's theory makes sense, and he still has connections throughout the league. Unfortunately, we won't find out whether Dominik is right until April 28"

I'm thinking the same.
