Just watched that hit squad video NT23 made. That Vernon Davis skinny post meant so much. It basically signified the turn around for the franchise. I know 13-3 was an accomplishment that year but that win vs the saints in the divisional round played a huge role in the comradury IMO.

that team was special man. it was the resurgence of the san francisco 49ers and they should of won it all. @!#$ing kyle williams. Ive never seen a more relentless D than the one that came out in the 2nd half against the Giants. They were destroying Eli.

Red80 or jecca whatever you go by haha. that 2011 team defense was incredible Carlos Rogers was playing fast and making teams no.1 obsolete. That's what makes it frustrating to watch him now he's a shell of his former self and it's 2 seasons removed from him playing with great instincts and recovery speed.

Those videos you posted make a grown man cry with that theme music. Our third down conversion rate in 2011 was putrid Andy lee was ready as soon as 3rd down came up at all times.

The thing about Rogers is that how he is playing now is more in line with how he has played every year of is career, sans 2011.  He was absolute trash in Washington, and would get burned repeatedly.  When we signed him I was actually upset.  Then he played unbelievably, and I thought that maybe a change of scenery was all he needed.  But nope.  2011 is clearly an aberration not the norm.

Cant wait for him to be replaced so we can use his money to lock up someone important.

In 2011 Alex Smith was converting something crazy like 80% of our redzone possessions. I remember he was the league's most efficient QB is the redzone .

BTW everytime I watch VD come off the field crying after that TD against the Saints, I tear up.

.
Sorry bro, there is no way this is accurate.  I distinctly remember that Alex having MAJOR issues in the redzone.  The reason I remember this is because Alex was actually damn good in the redzone prior to Harbaugh coming here, he just sucked on the rest of the field.  When Harbaugh came, this completely reversed.  In comparison to earlier in his career, Alex was horrendous in the redzone.  David Akers made something like 30+ red zone field goals.  I dont mean to call you out brother, but if you are going to make a claim that Alex converted 80% of our redzone possessions, I am going to need to see some stats to back that up.  Because based on memory and how big a deal our redzone failures were made of that season, I think you are mistaken.

Which leads me to Kap.  People say he is bad in the redzone....which I dont necessarily disagree with.  But the fact that Alex had major issues in the redzone, it leads me to believe it is a scheme issue, not a QB one.

 Damn Dland, relax brother! I was actually referring to 2010 so I was off by one year but you made it seem like I was talking about Alex in 2005. Too early to be goin at people's throats no?

Im relaxed.  I was just totally confused, as the conversation going on was about 2011.  Alex was ridiculous in the redzone early in his career.....which made his being awful in the redzone in 2011 such a headscratcher.  Now, here we are three years and a different quarterback later, and we still are having these issues.

Can anyone speak on whether or not Luck had redzone issues at Stanford?  Just curious, as this seems to clearly be a scheme issue.

Funny you should mention that, I was watching the infamous Mike Singletary interview earlier today and thought back to that catch.  As well as how far that team has moved forward from then to now.

Still one of my favorite interviews of all time and truly a memorable moment in 49ers history as far as I'm concerned.  I loved it!!
damn man any new word on BO
The last report I read a day or two after the game was that the medical staff wanted to wait 2 to 3 weeks to access how bad his knee was/is and then go from there.

a random thought: but i find it interesting that a bunch of us were right when we assumed that roman/harbaugh were saving kaep's legs for the playoffs. he looked so much more like the dynamic, "dual-threat" QB we were hoping for the entire year.

if 2013-2014 was his "sophomore slump," considering he still brought his team to the NFCC, then I'm excited as hell to see what he's gonna be like next season.

I can't wait either. I almost feel like this year's lost will make him become more wiser and resilient. Keep him in the pocket alot in the off season and let him gain chemistry with EVERY receiver on the team.

He looked good running the ball against the Seahawks and Packers, but a lot of that was out of necessity. He still needs to come a long way in his pocket passing. There were stresses in the season where he looked shaky throwing the ball. I am excited about him continuing to improve. Roman is gonna have to implicate more crossing patterns in the passing game and pass more out of the dbl TE sets. I like Vance and thought he had an ok rookie season. I just hope they take the chains off him a lil bit more. He needs to work on them drops tho.
