the only thing i'd fire baalke for is:

a.) letting jed and paraag run harbaugh out of town

b.) not pushing back enough when jed wanted to promote tomsula to head coach

i don't know who convinced him to hire chip. i like chip a lot, but I still believe hue and trent would've made a much better combo.

i believe baalke is the longest tenured member of the organization. he's been with us since 2005. mike nolan noted how integral his role was in bringing guys like patrick willis, joe staley, vernon davis, delanie walker, ray mcdonald, and frank gore to the niners.

i think his drafts have been solid. i loved iupati, AD, bow, aldon, kap, hunter, miller, reid, borland, lynch, los, kilgore, brown, etc. and his agent signings and trades, like Q, stevie johnson, teddy ginn, hitner, rogers, cox, etc, are greatly under appreciated.

we've also had zero cap issues since baalke took over. people forget what cap hell means.

i guess many niner fans must be too young or too new to remember what the early 2000's cap hell was like, or what expending first-round picks on players like rashaun woods, kwame harris and mike rumph in consecutive years feels like. fans will see it can become catastrophically bad where you enter a perpetual spiral out of control.  

i think baalke is going to get at least one more year to get a franchise quarterback. land the right guy, and it's a franchise changer. just a couple years ago, everyone was ******** on the guy across the bay, and now he's being commended for his work. what changed? landing that franchise quarterback.

Trade deadline is what, week 6? I have a hard time believing Baalke and co. aren't at least thinking about making a move for someone.

Sunshine is who he is and has been his entire NFL career, who knows what Kap will be (I'm certain he'll get a shot this year if we don't make a move). I'm not ready to hit the panic button just yet seeing as we've played Carolina and Seattle on the road in the first 3 games of the season, but it's still concerning

One thing I found intriguing was Chip saying Kap is our #2 because he's not 100%, soo he's good to go if something were to happen to Gabbert in a game orrr if/when he is " 100% " then will he be our starter? Or could it have to do with the protest.. weird situation

i guess it's time to start intently watching notre dame games

kizer is my #1 QB as of 9/27/2016

i like his size, stature, toughness, confidence and downfield accuracy, but his feet need work. he has a habit of throwing off a wide base or getting stuck in cement at times--almost cam newton-esque(not a good attribute). he also seems to have a habit of locking onto his target, too.

need to watch the entire season to really draw a conclusion.

i just dont love any of these guys, tho. i knew i loved carson wentz from the first game i saw him. while kizer may be the top guy, i think we're really reaching here out of desperation.

The worst part about Jed York isn't that he ran the team into the ground, fired a wildly successful coach and completely gutted a Super Bowl team while alienating players, coaches, and fans alike.

It's the fact that he's 36. So just remember 49ers fans, he might outlast you

anyone who hired jim o'neil gets big, fat ******* F

nah, i think he's been okay so far, but it's way too early to really evaluate anything. he had the same record at this exact point in his first season in Philly, and finished 10-6(not that i expect that).

as far as leading the men, i think he's done a great job keeping the team on track with all of the off-field stuff.

i like his passing play concepts. he does a good job of getting guys open. the windows are tight and close quickly, but they're constantly there. the problem is we don't have a quarterback.

not loving his running game. seeing inside zone being run over and over again is starting to get irritating. we need to mix things up.

I've been skeptical of jim o'neil from day 1, and he's done little to nothing to alleviate my worries.

The niners played the last two defending nfc champions back to back on the road and in one game the team had more days off.

No one should be panicing. Although blaines been trash not tol ealry to say that.

some things that stand out through 2 quarters:

-jimmie ward played excellent. great assignment football. easily our best player in the secondary. dude is very underrated.

-gerald hodges is bad. like, really bad. i dont know if hodges is ******ed or he's trying to do too much, but he's a MASSIVE liability in the run defense. he has absolutely zero instincts. losing ray-ray was huge.

-eli playing the zone read so slowly like he's never seen it before. dude needs to wake the **** up.

seahawks scored on this play with a inside zone run, but does anyone see a problem here on the outside??????? WTF is jim o'neil doing???
 

-pinion quietly having a good season so far. getting a lot of reps with all the 3-and-outs

-jim o'neil insists on blitzing when tank is on the field. this results in tank having into coverage..tank looks TERRIBLE in space. he should only be asked to do one thing: RUSH THE ******* QUARTERBACK

-ahmad brooks is playing like an all-pro. making plays at every level of the defense.

this defensive scheme is a god damn disaster

on that touchdown to jimmy graham, half the coverage was pattern matching and the other half is dropping to zone landmarks. hard to get more confusing than that for a young defense. 

gerald hodges was completely lost. the hair cut makes sense now.

[h1]A trimmed down Aaron Lynch plans to protest inequality[/h1]
Much needed defensive help will be on the way after the 49ers play Sunday against the visiting Cowboys. That’s when pass rusher Aaron Lynch returns from a four-game suspension for not following proper procedure before a drug test.

Lynch amassed 12.5 sacks over his first two seasons before news of his suspension hit during the off-season because of an unreadable urine test. Lynch said the specimen was too diluted. “I’ve already been in the (NFL drug) program so that’s the next step on some of those type of tests.” Lynch said in August. He vigorously fought the suspension to no avail.

When Lynch did report to training camp, he did so at a high weight. Recently, he has trimmed down through the use of a meal plan.

“I still have a ways to go,” he said Tuesday. Lynch also said the country has a ways to go in solving injustice and inequality in communities of color. That’s why Lynch will join the protest of the national anthem instigated by teammate Colin Kaepernick.

“Once I am on the field and I’m able to (protest), yeah,” Lynch said. “I definitely will.”

Born to a black father and white mother, Lynch grew up in a South Florida trailer park with two younger siblings. Raised by his mother, Lynch described his Cape Coral neighborhood as diverse and poor.

Growing up, Lynch befriended Latinos, whites, blacks and is now engaged to a woman of Honduran heritage who he met in his neighborhood. Because of this diversity, Lynch said he never felt out of place as a man of mixed race, however he said his mother was often looked down upon.

“People looked at her as a problem because she had mixed children,” Lynch said.

Lynch also experienced police harassment in college during an incident outside a club. Relaxing in the parking lot with friends, Lynch said a cop approached and slammed one of his friends against a car for no reason.

“I got into the middle of it and I pushed the cop back and I said, ‘you have no right to do that.’ He immediately pepper sprayed us all,” Lynch recalled.

The incident was part of the persistent injustice Lynch witnessed as a child.

“People need to see what’s going on, it’s not cool. I don’t care what anybody says, you can’t be blind to it,” he said. That’s one reason he admires Kaepernick and the protest he started.

“I think somebody needed to do it,” Lynch said. “He has obviously made a big impact, not only in the football community, but all around the world. I feel like what he did was a great thing. I sure stand behind him, and a lot of people in (the locker room) stand behind him and a lot of people outside (the 49ers) stand behind him.”

Lynch and Kaepernick, both men of mixed race, have spoken often of protest and inequality, and Lynch has been frustrated by how Kaepernick’s message continues to be misconstrued.

“He’s not just drawing attention to the black community,” Lynch said. “He’s targeting the colored community: Blacks, Latinos, Hispanics, whoever is colored is who he is targeting. A lot of people say he is doing black power; it has nothing to do with black power. His target is toward colored people and how they are being treated.”

Lynch’s motivation for joining the movement lies in hopefully bringing about a better environment for his unborn son.

“I have a baby on the way, and he’s going to be black, white, Honduran, and Native American Indian,” Lynch said. “I am hoping when he gets older, he won’t be limited by (his diversity). I don’t want him to be that way, I don’t want him to think that way. Don’t downgrade yourself, or lower limits. That’s my message.”

i forgot how good borland was. watching that highlight video is incredibly frustrating. the guy just oozed toughness, instincts and intelligence. he consistently knew exactly where the ball was going. 

i wonder how different people would feel about baalke if borland was still around collecting probowl and all-pro accolades, because that's the level he was playing at.
