one of harbaugh's greatest attributes is his ability to hire elite assistant coaches.

he's already got a coaching tree: "5 assistants on Jim Harbaugh’s 1st Stanford staff have since become head coaches"

nowhere. rathman has a job with the 49ers in perpetuity regardless of who the head coach is.

After seeing that clip I remembered marcus marin played the majority of the game. Didnt realized that i guess thats a good thing

this was one hell of a draft. the way steve describes the state of the team at 2:45 is eerily similar to today.

mike nolan did a really nice job drafting. it didn't appear like it at that time, but he drafted a lot of quality players that just needed better coaching.

» First round: Patrick Willis, linebacker

» First round: Joe Staley, tackle

» Third round: Ray McDonald, defensive end

» Fourth round: Dashon Goldson, safety

» Fifth round: Tarell Brown, cornerback

btw pay attention to the number of draft picks they had, and the way they used them. this system is still being used today by baalke. mike nolan recently said on matt maiocco's podcast that they brought it over from baltimore when he was hired here in SF. it's the same system ozzie newsome uses.

So much talent in that draft. A lot of those guys blossomed under the Harbaugh regime.

since baalke is getting **** canned and maiocco doesn't believe the yorks are high on gamble, i hope the dumbass yorks do their due diligence during their search. i would look at the chiefs, patriots and packers for their next GM.

packers and patriots both know how to run an organization, and the chiefs have drafted as well as anyone in recent years. nick caserio, chris ballard and elliot wolf are probably the top 3 candidates. bring in a respectable GM, and you might be able to hire a respectable head coach.

Damn bros, one of my best friends and I go to one of the Rams/Niners games annually for the past 4-5 years and next week is no exception (we went to the tie game at the Stick :x that **** was so frustrating for both of us since neither could talk ****. I remember thinking we made a FG to end it in OT and celebrating butttt we actually missed it  ). Won't front, I want to see Goff play. That hit he took tonight was beyond idiotic on his part, not sure if you guys saw it but Sherman LIT his *** up  / :smh:

Awful matchup I know, but we both ride or die for our squads every week no matter how bad so I respect that

I will never root for tanking on game day, but if that Rams game is the only one we win the rest of the way then I'm not mad. In this awful and hopeless season I would love to have some sort of enjoyment in being able to rub it in his face that our only 2 wins of the year were against them

Pricy, yes. But it's a lot more convenient than the stick. It would literally take at least an hour to get out of there. Levi's Stadium might take half an hour but seeing as how the stadium is near empty it might be even shorter than that. Just don't take the petty cab. The $20 they charge is not worth the walk to the stadium.

Curious to see how empty it will be bc it looks bad on tv and with it being new year's day i'm expecting lots of empty seats. Gonna try and make my way down towards the lower section

You'll easily make it. The entire row in front of me is ALWAYS empty. I think those seats were purchased by some company and they give their tickets to employees because they're never filled.

I had my tickets to the Falcons game on the market last year. I was on my way to the stadium when the tickets sold, so I bought some nosebleeds for dirt cheap. I banked on the row in front of my seats being empty, which they were. I ended up moving up one spot and came out on top that day. It basically paid for my food and gas. I'm thinking you can do the same.

Where are your seats? Might make my way down to that row and see if I can get a couple of seats
I'll buy you a beer too :smokin
