OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

Hey djaward, crazy you got sick

Wonder if its from the juicing

So anyways. I start my juicing 15 day cleanse sunday. I have a q. I work 9-5 every day, so have to make my juices the night before. Can i store my juices in the fridge overnight/all day? Will they go bad or do i have to freeze them?

Update for me:

I finished with my clean program a couple of days ago.  Lost 10 or so lbs while I was on it for the 21 days... I feel really good, didn't drink any coffee during that time and I still haven't since.  It's a really good start to getting the diet right, im still gonna do the smoothies in the AM and maybe make one for dinner on days where I've got no other plans/time to cook something solid.

I doubt its from juicing. The grossness is coming from smells. So I dont know whats going on.

As far as storing your juices, make sure you store them in 12-15 ounce jars. You can find them at bed bath and beyond, michaels maybe even staples. Make sure they are glass and glass only.. Juices are good up to 72 hours in glass jars with tight lids, in the fridge. I wouldnt trust anything after 72 hours.

We would rather make the juices the night before than to wake up earlier in the AM to make them. You have to wash and clean the juicer after you are done and that takes about 10-20 minutes. My wife makes our juices the night before. So tonight she will make a total of 8 juices. 2 for the kids, 2 breakfast, 2 lunches and 2 dinners for both of us for tomorrow.

Thats great to hear bro. Cograts. Im gonna start eating soon but not quit juicing. What I might do is still drink 3 juices a day but drink them before Im about to eat. This way I get full quick. If I feel its too much then Im probably just going to juice once or twice a day. Keep going bro and keep us updated.

OP, this thread is worthless without pics
 I know, but I dont think Ive shown progress yet. Wait till next week.

The weight lost has slowed down dramatically. I weighed my self on Wednesday afternoon and Im still at 227 lbs. On Saturday I was at 228lbs. Can anyone explain how that is possible?

Are you weighing yourself in the mornings after you've peed and taken a dump or was it in the middle of the day or something?

Your initial weight loss isn't always fat either. Your body retains a lot of water so that's usually where a lot of the initial weight comes from. Weight loss always slows down after a while.

Eating low amounts of food for long periods of time isn't always the best answer either. The MMA fighter Ronda Rousey was eating like 1 meal a day trying to make weight for her fight and her body just stopped losing weight completely. She had no energy and cuts and stuff on her body wouldn't heal anymore. They called Mike Dolce in to help with her nutrition and weight cutting and he upped her calories over 5x what she had been eating. She started losing weight again, the big wound she had on her hand healed, and she had a ton of energy again.

This could be your body telling you to feed it

Thanks for that.

I usually weigh my self at night after my work out. But since I got sick, I decided to weigh my self to see where I was at. I weighed my self like at 2 pm. But mind you, I didnt drink anything either.

I will feed my body soon. I simply want to complete my 30 days. I will get more protein, calories and good carbs into my body soon.

congratulations bud.

today is day 12 for me, but i think im gonna fall off the wagon with it being V-day and me getting some pressure from the wife and what not. That being said, I think the last 12 days has been a good platform to jump start my change to eating cleaner and healthier moving forward. The lack of booze and coffee has probably been worse than the lack of food for me, and sheepishly i must admit that im probably going to get back on coffee albeit in smaller amounts. like you, i will probably continue to juice/smoothie atleast for breakfast and also substitute it for a couple of dinners every week.

the biggest change for me is the level of activity and exercise ive been getting since i starte The Clean Program. I have noticed an uptick in my overall energy levels and this has helped me overcome that lazy mental block after work each day. Before, I just wanted to go home, pour myself a glass of whiskey, and play with my kid. Since I started the program I've had the energy to atleast do 1 active thing every day; Jiu Jitsu 3x a week and then a 20-30 minute run on my off days and some pushups before bed every night.

I know the weight loss is probably not sustainable once I go back to real food, but I finally broke the 200lb threshold this morning (199! woohoo!). When I started almost 2 weeks ago I was around 213-214. Man I havent been under 200lbs since before I was married (almost 4 yrs). Hopefully with continued exercise and better diet, I can continue this trend and eventually get down to around 185 range but with decent muscle tone.

For you dudes who are considering doing a Juice or other cleanse program to jumpstart the next chapter of your healthier and cleaner life, I strongly encourage you guys to try it. The first few days are going to be rough, but once you get into it you wont regret it.

I got my *** out of bed at 7am this morning and jumped on the tread mill for 30 mins... I did have a glutten sort of day though and ate some pizza and a cookie at work though.

Imma get back eating clean but i felt I owed it to myself to be a fatass for lunch.

Baked, stuffed shrimp tonight for valentines day... Brown rice on the side.

My total weight loss got me down to 190 from 201-202... I'll be in the 180's in no time though just as long as I continue to eat right.  a few more pounds and I'll have to bring my pants back to my tailer and have him let in the waist... I'm on my last belt hole right now and my current suit pants are bunching around the waistband. I think the waist on them is 35".

im on day 4 of straight juice and think i might cave.

by cave i mean juice for breakfast and lunch and eat exremely clean for dinner.

idk though i might stay straight juice for a couple more days. either way im not eating trash anymore. straight juice, fish, chicken and veggies. thats it. i gotta get right out here!

Keep going! This is only temporary. You will have food again. Just not today.

P.S. - I expect the same type of support when I try my prolonged fast.

bro stop acting extreme.

a man needs steak.

juicing is good in moderation just like anything else in life.

to the dudes depriving their body thinking they're fixing it... nah son.  i want a sound mind and body.  not gonna frustrate one to achieve the other.

Props to you homie. These holidays, parties, going out with people are test. If you can pass these test then you can do you anything. Ive been to a few parties and get together and I did not cheat. I just said no thanks Im juicing and people respected that. A lot of the time people will ask questions but other than that its good. Just stay away from the food.

My caffeine must go to was a coke a cola. I had to have at least one a day. During lunch, always had to order a large. At restaurants I would get about 4 to 5 refills of it. I had to have it. Now that you;ve done this, you will be able to control your amounts for everything. Keep up the good work though. 12 days is pretty good.

The less you think about food the easier this is. The less crap food you have at home, the easier it is to juice. I had to throw away all my crap from home. Sodas, cookies, snacks etc. Once we got rid of all that, we shopped and bout healthy stuff like nuts, more fruits for the kids and other healthy stuff they can snack on. Stay strong. and I hope you can do it longer.

Stop acting extreme? What are you talking about? What makes you think a man needs steak to live? A man needs a healthy body to live. Some want to live till they are 50 a lot want to live till they are 90. I chose 90 bro. I will have meats in a couple of weeks but my choices will be healthier.

Show me where juicing is in moderation.............................

That decomposing plant fiber smells horrible after a couple days :x

Gotta clean that stuff up ASAP.

I usually put the waste in a small bag and throw it out right away. It will have your place smelling like a landfill.

It's great compost if you do gardening though.

My wife and I work as a team.

She does the juices and I clean up right after shes done.

Putting a bag in the waste basket is a smart Idea. Finding the bags is the problem.

UPDATE WEEK 4

Yesterday was my final day of a 30day juicing and man do I feel great! After 30 days of Juicing Ive lost 30 pounds dropping from 248 to 218. From a sz XXL shirt to a sz L (Im shooting to fit into an

EXTRA MEDIUM). Pants size from a 42 to a 36. My clothes fits me loose now but I love it. This is not over yet. My goal is to get to 180lbs. by June. I will start eating solids but will continue to Juice, its part of my life now. No more eating out or

bad foods, just straight healthy and good foods. I made my own vinaigrette dressing to add to my salads. Lets see how that goes.

For workouts, I started to do INSANITY. Im doing it to get toned up. I felt like the Elliptical machine wasnt doing much for me and felt like I wasnt getting the results I want. My wife had these DVDs lying around the house and she said to try

them so I did. This feels like the workout I need.

I ate a small salad last night and felt like throwing up. It had no dressing just lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and cucumber. NO DRESSING. After half hour, my stomach began to turn and felt like I needed to let it all out. Instead, I went to work out

and felt great afterwards.

Funny thing is that I still hate looking at myself in the mirror. I still see the same person. I can only see results when I wear clothes. AM I being too hard on myself? Maybe, but again, theres still a lot of work to be done.

Thanks again to those who posted helpful advice. It really did help and Im sure it helped other too. Big special thanks to my beautiful wife. She was my chef making all my juices everyday.

You guys have any questions, please ask. Pictures will be up soon.

Great job op, I plan on starting with the gf on monday. Keep us updated on how the weight is affected once you start with solid foods. Curious as to just how much you will gain right back.
