OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

Congrats OP. All the age comments reminds me of this vid. May have been posted here on NT or in this thread

DAMN thats impressive OP. Great job.

I just finished the 21 day Clean Program this weekend. I'm a quitter though and cheated on my 21st day hahahaha (Carne Asada burrito for lunch and duck leg with roast root vegetables and side of roasted potatoes for dinner with 2 glasses of wine). Aint gonna lie, those 2 meals yesterday were unbelievably delicious, but I instantly started to regret it.

Today was day one of being off the cleanse, but I am going to try and stay committed to healthier eating. I still had a green juice for breakfast, and a small cup of fruit and half a veggie wrap for lunch. Gonna hit the gym after work, then FEAST on some chicken breast, curry cauliflower and roast brussel sprouts for dinner.

OP, once you start hitting that Insanity on a regular basis, I'm sure you are going to start seeing some crazy changes to your body. During the juicing/cleanse I noticed that my energy level had noticably increased, which in turn allows me to increase the amount of exercise i do without fading. I'm hoping the uptick in exercise can eventually help me get to where I want to be. Right now I'm still doing jiu jitsu 3x a week and running on my off days. My weekly mileage has exponentially increased. Before the cleanse, I'd be lucky to log maybe 2 miles a week. Now I am doing 3 miles on my weekday offdays, a 5+ mile run on Saturdays, and a quick 2 miles on my "rest" day of sunday. I think I need to supplment the running with some plyometric and other total body/core building exercises and I should be good to go.

Just started this with my Nutribullet this morning.  I'm going to shoot for a week, but we'll see how today goes.
Good luck to you bro. Let me know how that taste. Always wondered if theres a different taste between blending and a Juicer.

Bro you look ten years younger in the face :wow:

I was expecting loose skin and all that when you were being hesitant to post pics  You look great fam keep it pushing :nthat:
Thanks man, really appreciate that. Maybe theres no loose skin because of the work outs Ive been doing.

I do feel my belly more jiggly then before (thats a good thing). Before I started juicing. my belly was firm, now it just feel loose. I gotta tone that up.

Congrats OP. All the age comments reminds me of this vid. May have been posted here on NT or in this thread
Thanks for posting that video, Ive never seen that before. Its true though, juicing will help you look younger and will help your skin clear up. I dont know about being a Vegan though, that take a lot of commitment (Just Ask BEN).

More discipline than me.

good **** op!
Thanks bro. You must have discipline and will power to do this. If you dont, then you will fail instantly. But again, having someone to keep you on check helps too. Thats why I suggest you do this with someone else like a girlfriend or wife.

Some one that wont let you cheat a little bit. CHEATING IS CHEATING.

OP you inspire me bro. I gotta get on your level

Seriously great work
Thank you for that. Never in my life did I ever think I was going to lose weight by just drinking healthy juices. I was a negative person and Im glad I did this. Thanks again.

Wow congrats man. 21 days is a lot. Was your goal to do 21 days or were you trying to go longer?

You are crazy for eating that burrito bro. After my juicing, the only thing I wanted to eat was veggies, roasted veggies and sauteed mushrooms. I wasnt craving any meats for some odd reason. I say that because before juicing, I was eating

meats everyday. I had to have it. The good thing about you is that you continuing to juice. Keep that up and dont give it up. If you feel like you have to eat, try drinking your juice first, then a cup of water then you can eat. You'll get full quicker.

As far as insanity goes, I feel like its helping me tone up. I feel and see my arms changing. My legs always feel like jello (thats a good thing right?).

But you, you're going ham man, congrats to you. I do 2.7 miles a day on the elliptical machine and it feels great. I dont know if I can go 5 miles in one shot. I gotta try that one of these days.

By the way, that extra energy feel amazing huh? Yesterday I went to Disneyland and I thought I was going to be completely burnt out today but nope. We got home at 10:30 and woke up at 530 ready to go. Not tired at all.

Im telling you, this juicing is better than drinking redbull, coffee, Soda or even one of those 5 hour energy drink.

Keep up the good work Mojo, seems like youre doing everything right. Keep us posted on your juicing.

Quick update for you guys..

So this is an update for this long weekend i had. I will start off with Friday.

Friday, I attended a bachelor party at a pool hall and man was that tough. Before I left home, I had my wife make me a juice and I ate a salad. I knew that there was going to be a lot of temptation. When I got to the pool hall, all I saw was food. Pizzas, burger, wings, nachos and everybody was offering me something to eat. Good thing is that I pass on all of it. People were looking at my like I was crazy. All I had that night was water and I felt good.

Saturday, today was a special day because my step sister was getting married today.
BREAKFAST-
I woke up, made the kids breakfast and decided to make my self some breakfast too. I diced up some turkey, tomatoes and mushrooms, made my self and egg white omelet. I only ate half of it and gave the rest to my wife. I DID NOT JUICE FOR BREAKFAST. I felt great and did not feel any different. Drank only water with my meal.

SNACK- HAD NONE

LUNCH-
For lunch I had a salad with chicken in it (my son and I split one but he ate most of it. I DID NOT JUICE FOR LUNCH. Drank only water.

AFTERNOON SNACK- On our way to my sisters wedding, we stopped by ROBEKS and got a smoothie NOT JUICE.

DINNER-
At the wedding they had Spaghetti, white pasta with chicken and mushrooms and salad. I took my own vinaigrette dressing and had salad only. I had 2 plates of salad. The first plate was just salad. I was still hungry so I got another plate. This time I decided to add some of that chicken and mushrooms from that white pasta. It was pretty good but I can see all that oil on my plate. I DID NOT HAVE A JUICE FOR DINNER.

So for Saturday I had nothing but solids and NO JUICE. I felt ok but then Sunday came.......

SUNDAY-
Today was another special day because we were having a family day today. My brother came to visit us from Maryland so we wanted to take him out to eat sea food. This is how my day went,

I Woke up with minor diarrhea and stomach pains. I dont know what caused it but I think it was because I didnt juice. Not sure. The wife made me a juice containing Oranges, Carrots, Ginger (more than usual) and lemon. Also had some lemon water to help with the my digestion. Thats all I had for breakfast.

For lunch I had this, (MINUS THE BREAD AND NO TORTILLAS).

NO JUICE FOR LUNCH just had water.

On my home I felt fatigue, weak with no energy. All I wanted to do was go to sleep. I havent felt like that in a long time and I felt weird. We had to be home by 330 pm because my son had a baseball scrimmage at 4 pm.
I did not want to go but he begged me so we went. It was a good idea to go.

DINNER-
After my sons game, both my boys wanted to eat IHOP so we went. I had 1 and a half of pancakes and a large cup of Orange juice. My wife had a meal and so did my kids. I felt ok with what I ate and didnt feel like it was a bad idea.
I DID NOT HAVE A JUICE FOR DINNER.
When we were laying in bed, my wife began to get a pain in her stomach. She couldnt handle it so she threw up. I was ok but she wasnt. She was kinda nervous because we were going to Disneyland the next day and she was worried she was going to be sick. She drank a ginger ale and went to sleep.

MONDAY (HELL DAY FOR ME).

I woke up with the quickness. I felt like I was going to SHART. So I ran to the bathroom and let loose. Great, I had diarrhea. This began at 530 am. From 530 to 7 am (this is the time we headed out to disneyland) I went to the bathroom 4TIMES. My wife made me a juice to help me. I drank it and we left.

From home to Disneyland, I made a total of 7 pit stops to take a number 2. I was in pain and not feeling well. The last pit stop I had to throw up, only thing that came out was acid. My stomach was in pain and I felt like I just did 1,000 situps. We got to Disneyland and was waiting for the rest of our party to get there. For the next 30 minutes I went to the bathroom for another 4 times. These 4 times, it came out both ways.. I was feeling so weak, I could barely get up from toilet and walk back out. At this point I was going to call it quits and just go to my car and fall asleep while my family was at disneyland. But I didnt. I ate some apples and peanut butter and drank water. 10 miunutes after that, I had to go to the bathroom again and handle my business. My wife said I look like I was dying and was considering getting me a wheel chair. I declined so She bought me a Vitamin water instead (Ive never had that before and it was disgusting). People were saying I need electrolytes and Vitamin water had that so I drank it. I drank it SLOWLY Like sips at a time. Ate some trailmix and more apples with it. and felt better. By 3 pm I was feeling alot better and did not use the bathroom at all. Fel like everything was out of my system. I did not have any lunch or dinner though. Only thing I had was fruits and nuts.

My kids had this (TURKEY LEG),
View media item 824966It smelled so good but got grossed out while they were eating it. So I had to walk away.

Woke up today feeling good and made sure my wife made me my 2 juices. Im never again skipping on my juices NEVER.

The reason I told you this story is because I want you to know how much not drinking any juices has effected me. I need juices in my life and its not a smart Idea to skip them. So for those who are juicing, continue to juice. I might have made some bad decisions this weekend but I can guarantee it will never happen again. I regret majority of the stuff I ate this weekend. I thought eating fish was a good idea and it probably is, just as long as its not fried.

Sorry for the long post, again, just wanted to share my experience with you guys. Have a great week.

Sounds like you shocked your body with the greasy food even tho to me most of what you ate seems healthy exception of that fish. Assuming you went to San Pedro?

Thats what Im thinking too. But in all honesty, I thought I did pretty good eating what I did. I guess it was too much and should have skipped it.

ANd yes, thats San Pedro. Thats our spot for family get together or special events.

Yeah your digestive system went into shock, don't think it was necessarily because you missed a juice
Any ideas on how I sent it to shock? Does anyone know?

LIke I said above, I thought I was eating pretty good. BUt I was wrong.

From my experiences with dieting short term never as long as you have gone. Which I believe is 30 days right?

You are at the point where you have trained you stomach to only handle certain levels of grease. If you look at your story once you reintroduced grease and heavy foods into your diet bam you went I to shock. Maybe slowly jumping back in would of helped.

By the way San Pedro is it getting cleaned up haven't been there in years. Got so mad out how dirty people where there throwing trays into the ocean I made it a choice never to go back smh

IMO too many solids at one time. Your system got used to having to do minimal work to break down the juices. So making it break down that many solids (even though it was mostly good choices) put it into overdrive. You have to gradually build that back up.

I remember I didn't eat beef for 2 months, ate half a burger and was sick the whole day,

My wife keeps telling me to slow down while eating. Its like someone has a gun to my head and I need to finish before they pull the trigger.

Shes right though, I do need to slow down while I eat.

Read all of it, OP. Very inspiring. Makes me wanna try it. Gonna watch that doc this weekend and invest in a juicer soon. I do fasting during Ramadan so I have the mental base to handle something like this but idk how I'd react without solids. I used to be in the best shape a year and a half back. Working 2 jobs kind of got in the way of it so I need something to kick my *** back into the mindset of the healthy lifestyle

I don't have a juicer but I do have a blender. I was going to make smoothies with frozen vegetables and fruit. Should I use liquid with it? Almond/soy milk or fruit juice?

A good mentality is what you need to get started. People going in with the only thought of losing weight will fail. Preparing yourself for this is a must.

Good luck to you bro. Let us know how it goes.

To be honest, I dont know how to answer that question. I did not blend my drinks. For my juices, the cucumber, apples and oranges were the base of my drinks. Those fruits and veggies made the juice watery.

I have heard of people using coco water. Check out youtube, thats where I got most of my recipes.

Very impressive OP. Truly awesome.

I'm going to stock up this weekend and give this a try as my cousin has been pushing it for the last couple of years and he swears by it. Sitting in a cube again and commuting has killed a lot of my gym time and cardio time. I'm hoping this gives me some extra energy and just a clean start.

Congrats OP truly inspiring. Been wanting to start living a healthier lifestyle, but it's tough always being on the go and being young there's a lot of temptation lol. But you've pushed me to go out and grab myself a juicer

Theres always time to do a quick 40 minute workout. The problem is getting up and actually doing it. Always thought I never had time to do it till I started doing it.

Now I get home, cook dinner, quickly check homework and off to the gym or do a video. By the time Im done, its 730 and I still have time to do other things.

Do it, its a good thing for you youngsters to start now then like me at age 33 with 2 kids. You have a lot more energy than I did (and I hope no kids) and all the time in the world to get healthy and fit.

Yes eating out and eating junk taste great, but at my age, you start caring more about what goes into your body and how it effects you.

Try juicing for 2 weeks, if you like it then do it for another week. If you dont like it the start eating solids with 1 or 2 juices a day.

For those wanting to give this fast a try -- I will be doing one starting March 4th for lent. Whether you're religious or not (I'm new to it), I think it provides the perfect opportunity/excuse to commit to this for a longer period. Instead of succumbing to friends who want to go out for drinks you can just shrug your shoulders and say it's for lent. Most people won't argue.

Having said that...I want to go on a pronlonged fast during lent, but I won't say the entire 40 days just because I know how hard this can be. But I will be doing a prolonged fast. Feel free to start it up and we can post about the experience to make it easier for us...Just a heads ups if you need a push...

Thats a good idea. This will help you guys get rid of some bad habits for 40 days.

Its definitely going to be easier to use lent as your excuse as to why you cant have that greasy food or a drink.

Keep us posted on how you do @651akathePaul , are you doing this for weight loss or rebooting?

Both, really. But also for the cleansing aspect.

I've mentioned before having done a few brief fasts and how that led to my body rejecting the regular junk I would eat and that's still somewhat carried over for the longer-term. I just can't eat the same way that I did prior to the short fasts without feeling absolutely miserable. The goal now is to cleanse myself and work myself into a completely different lifestyle with my eating habits. I know the effects will be profound after a pronlonged fast. Weight loss will just be an added benefit. Mostly that sense of feeling and being healthy.

Did a mini-sorta-prep day yesterday. Had an apple and a few crackers and cheese bits to reintroduce myself to fasting, but per the usual I ended up drinking lots of alcohol last night. Main excuse this time: My birthday. No excuses come March 4th. This will be done.
