OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

Don't start eating carbs. You will put the **** back on so fast.

I've lost a solid 13lbs this year basically following a keto diet. Working out daily, put on good deal of muscle.

I make a lot of things off of this : http://cavemanketo.com/keto-meal-plan/

Being scared of carbs is an unnecessary fear and the reason you lose weight on this is because the overall calories are lowered. You don't need to completely get rid of a macronutrient to do it.

I've done it in the past and lost weight. I was also miserable and so glycogen depleted that I didn't have enough strength to do a single push up. I also gained all of the weight back because this type of diet isn't sustainable.

I've also currently lost 25 lbs eating all the carbs I want. I stopped counting calories and just made good food choices and everything else has started to work itself out.

Started this last week. i will end on march 29th (Day before my birthday).

I started at 252 pounds. I'm at 247 today.

Congrats

Juicing/blending takes a lot of discipline but if you're sick or want to lose weight that's all the motivation you'll need.  well worth the money, time and effort.  That documentary is one of the first videos that I have watched on Netflix.

I've been blending fresh fruits and vegetables while adding a teaspoon of spirulina and maca root powder.  It's become part of the daily regime.  I've lost quite of bit of weight and feel better,

I own a Vitamix food processor but also have a juicer.  Personally, juicing uses too much of the food for extraction and the fiber and other nutrients on the skins of the vegetables/fruits go to waste.  But to each its own.

A recipe that I do which is pretty simple is:

Beets/carrots/celery/apple/frozen blueberries and any leafy greens in season (Kale/Chard/Broccoli, etc).  I add lemon for acidity.  And raw garlic or ginger.

Fresh and in season the better and grow your own produce or visit a farmer's market if possible.

Did a mini-sorta-prep day yesterday. Had an apple and a few crackers and cheese bits to reintroduce myself to fasting, but per the usual I ended up drinking lots of alcohol last night. Main excuse this time: My birthday. No excuses come March 4th. This will be done.
Happy Belated BDAY.. I was doing my juicing on my BDAY too. It was easy for me because I dont drink alcohol. The hardest part was declining invites to dinners.

Keep us posted with ressults.

Do you eat white bread or corn tortillas? I havent had none of that for over 40 days. I TRULY MISS WHITE BREAD.

Lent began yesterday and I'm on day 2 of juicing. First day was a breeze as it usually is. So far so good for today, but this is usually the day where the hunger pangs come hollering by the end of the day. I won't give in.

You should be alright man. Just make sure you drink a lot of water to keep your stomach full. AND I MEAN LOTS OF WATER.

Are you doing 3 juices a day or 4?

At least 3, but shooting for 4. I'm two juices in for the day. Will have a late afternoon juice and then once more tonight.

You should do 4 now and in a week cut down to 3. If you do 4 now, you'll feel full majority of the day and wont think of food.

And it will be an easy transition from 4 to 3. Keep it up man.

Im at 242 now! 3 more weeks to go!
Good stuff, feels good huh? Start walking for 10 min a day and add more minutes everyday. Keep it up.

^Good stuff. Keep at it.

:pimp:
Yes sir.

Man these hunger pains are wicked  :smh:
They are, but dont focus too much on em. The less you focus the less hungry you are. Keep that goal you're trying to reach in mind at all times. That should be your motivation.

Remember, try watching less tv, if you need to watch some tv, watch a movie (no commercials).

Like 651 said, KEEP AT IT. Dont give up. The first week and a half is the most difficult part of this 30 day reboot. WHY you ask?

Because you're testing yourself. You're seeing how far you can push yourself and your body for 30 days. We programed our bodies and mind to eat at a certain time and trained our minds to think we are hungry when that time comes around.

Remember, you are getting food, youre just drinking it instead of eating it.

HOPE ALL THIS MAKES SENSE, if it doesnt, it will in a couple of weeks.

What I have found to help me so far is reading. Getting lost in a book has proved to keep my mind off of delicioius food, for the most part.

Interesting thread not something id thought id see here on NT. Either way ive been juicing for a while now and i study nutrition and pharmacology and am willing to answer any questions anyone may have on health or juicing in general.

I'm in the gym everyday!

Going to start juicing in the morning. Picking up ingredients tonight. I'm legit excited.

Are you guys able to exercise? I usually go to the gym and stay there for 2 hours (1hr cardio/1hr weights). Burn about (the machine says) 800-1k Just on 1 hour of cardio.

Do you guys recommend me, stop working out for that month? Or drink 2 juices and just have one small lean protein meal for the calories i burn?

Good luck bro. Keep us posted on your juicing.

when I was "intermittent fasting" chewing on ICE while drinking water helped a lot.
This is one of the questions I had when I was juicing,

CAN WE CHEW ON ICE?

Before juicing, I loved chewing on ice, I had a cup or 2 a day. I stopped when I began to juice.

Does anyone know if chewing ICE is allowed?

I began working out a week after I started juicing. But I only worked out for 45 minutes and only burned 300 calories in my workout. I had a lot of energy and was not tired at all.

Your doing a lot more than I did so I dont know how you would feel if you just straight juiced with no meals. People say you can add protein to your shakes (I never did) so maybe you can try that.

djaward...how much juice is a meal?

I'm just curious and wondering how much you drank

as for me a glass or glass and a half

today i had 5 carrots, 1 green apple, 1 fuji apple, and 1/4 of a lemon for breakfast

got it from rebootwithjoe, and it was really amazing

We also got the recipes from that site. We actually coulndt go off the recipes because the juices are meant for only one person. If you doubled the ingredients then the juice will come off strong. And since it was 2 of us drinking juices, we just added enough fruits and Veggies to make 2 juices.

My ounces were anywhere from 12-15 per serving. Thats almost a RED CUP full. We got Mason Jars from Bed Bath and Beyond (I suggest you get them else where and get them with lids that have a sealer. NO METAL LIDS).

When we do apples, we use green apples for the morning and red apples for lunch and dinner. And we use half of lemon to balance off the taste.

This morning my juice was:
Kale
Cucumber
Banana
Ginger
Water
Coconut oil

Going to pick up some organic orange juice to use instead of water.

Do you use a juicer or do you blend?

If juicer, how well does the banana juice? Have never tried it, I've only tried to blend it.

I haven't purchase a juicer yet so I use my blender. Only problem I've had is the Kale didn't blend thoroughly. Basically has pulp in my juice.

Day 4. I broke through. My hunger pangs are minimal and even though I think about food a lot, it doesn't tempt me whatsoever. Energy is good, but for the first three days I was pretty short with people...Irritable. I'm excited to keep pushing this to see where it takes me physically and mentally.

For those curious, I have lost 9 pounds. 221.8 down to 212. Seeing 190 again would be nice, but again, I'm not doing this for weight loss. Just glad it's one of the benefits.

I started juicing at the beginning of the week and it's been tough but some of the concoctions aren't so bad - using an Omega 3000 juicer and a book of recipes. Hoping to keep this up for at least the next month. I don't necessarily NEED to lose weight, but I've had this juicer and haven't used it much at all. This post has helped with sticking to it thus far. Congrats on your progress DJAWARD - hope all is well!
