OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

Ben Roethilisberger, I pm'ed you

Good stuff djaward, have you posted the exact juicing diet in this thread yet? I saw the pic and saved it, just wondering exactly what I should start with and do on a daily basis. Thank you!
I have not, but check this site out. This is where my wife gets the recipes for juices.

Also, my buddy wants to sell me his juicer - the Omega VRT350 as a place opened up next to him that has the "holy grail" of juicers he says, and he's been buying all of his for a reasonable price/can save time as he's always busy with work

Should I hop on the juicer? It's basically new and he wants $200 for it, I just know nothing about them

^ I believe that is it
I dont know much about juicers. All I did was I went to youtube and searched reviews for the juicer I was going to buy. Mine had a lot of great reviews. It too cost $200 new.

Juicing is for betas
Thanks. :D

First day was a success. Got hungry during the day but once I got home I made me a juice and felt better.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

BTW green juice smells like :smokin

15 minutes of weights? What are you doing one exercise?
Just lifting free weights. Nothing crazy. I grab two 40 pounds dumbbells and lift. Do that a few sets and thatst it. I do more cardio then anything.

Congrats bro. Keep up the good work. Remember to stay positive and say no to food.

I said that wrong.

But I would suggest not being so ignorant to the idea that the way most have been taught about food and nutrition is dead wrong.

People think they get their nutrients by eating animals who eat proper nutrients and think it's filtering? I don't understand the logic there. I do however understand why we think dairy and meat are essential to our diet. It's what's been taught to us. Definitely a tough thing to wrap your head around at first. Especially when it's almost consciperacy like when you learn about how and why we've been taught the wrong way. But, science has ALWAYS backed this. Not BROscience. I'll go with the brightest minds in science past and present before I follow what zyzz on the misc says or what Jay Cutler says.

Preach.

Had to give in this morning. My dad's cooking is just to good. Besides this morning I had this weird cramp in my hands and all throughout my legs. I also had absolutely no energy. I felt like if I hadn't ate I wouldn't make it today. I still plan on juicing three times a day and eating healthy tho.

Juiced with my breakfast and now I'm feeling :pimp:

Hardest thing to do is say no to food. The harder part is saying no on your first 2 days. Thats why its easier when someone else is doing it with you. My wife is juicing with me so we have each others backs.

Keep juicing though, and eat less crap. You'll feel a lot better , TRUST.

If you dudes would just workout regularly, do good cardio and had a good clean balanced meal, you won't need to be juicing....juicing is just a shortcut to drink your nutrients rather than incorporate them into a balanced meal...

why the gif? :rolleyes

what he said is 100% true

Everyone thinks they "know" don't they? Every topic has to turn into some sort of debate because of this. Never fueled by facts, but always with little slick remarks. If you disagree with information you find in a thread either have an open mind and ask questions, present evidence to back your claims if you disagree or bounce out the thread. Otherwise, you contribute absolutely nothing.

I don't get this, if you don't mind juicing and drinking horrible tasting vegetables with fruits, why don't you just run the mile or do that extra workout?

It's a **** load of commitment to do that alone(lift and run), but even more to maintain a 'juicing diet'...

I'm not doing that one right now, although I have watched and juiced before...

This is what I'm on.

http://www.amazon.com/Clean-Expanded-Edition-Revolutionary/dp/0062201662

Basically taking out ALL foods that are usual suspects to cause allergies or be toxic... eg peanuts, shellfish, peppers, gluten, red meat etc.

I'm only on day 2 of it so I'll post as I go if anyone's interested.

Hey Fraji you still in this thread? How is it going?

I'm on day 5 of The Clean Program right now and its been rough for me. I think part of it is that I just didnt properly plan out my solid meal schedule for the week when I'm at the office.

I've yet to bust the juicer out yet, just been goin smoothies for breakfast and smoothie or raw/cold soup for dinner. My one solid meal of lunch has been shredded chicken breast with a ton of spiniach, drizzle of olive oil and a dash of balsamic. Today I just about broke down at lunch, cause I felt that i needed a change, but as I was walking around the area by my office I came up on this restaurant/cafe that served food that was right up my alley. Had a nice quinoa/brown rice bowl with kale, broccoli, azuki beans, and seaweed. It was a welcome change from the chicken/spinach salad i been on for the last 4 days.

Dude's like OP who are on a straight juice cleanse, big props to you guys. The one solid meal I get at lunch each day is a huge boost of motivation for me. Its something I can look forward to each day.

I really need to step up my exercise regimen though. The whole reason I started the cleanse/detox was so I could reboot my system and hopefully make a lifestyle diet change. Part of that lifestyle change (and my first short term goal) is to start competing in BJJ. Right now the only exercise I'm getting is 3x a week of jiu jitsu, but if I can supplement that with another 2-3x of cardio and light weight training I hope to be in comp shape by the summer. wish me luck.

It doesnt matter how you're doing it, as long as you're doing it. Not everyone can do 3-6 juices day. Heck I can only do 3. The not eating part though, everyone is different. My wife works at BMW and everyday theres food at the office. She began eating salads now and other healthy snacks.

Exercising is up to you too. I have a gym in my complex so its easy. I dont think Id be doing a lot of work out if I didnt have a gym. Maybe you can start off with a workout video. Problem is getting up and doing it.

Trust me, once you start seeing the difference in your body, you are going to want to continue it even more. Thats how I feel.

Good luck man.

^ thanks man.

just seein this post has been a good boost for me. the thought had crossed my mind today to cheat since its the weekend now, but seeing this has given me motivation to keep it going. hell, i havent logged into NT in probably 6 months, so it was a nice coincidence that I stumbled across your thread on the 1st page.

Hope I can make it through the weekend without tripping up. Booze is my big problem. I probably drink atleast 2 full pours of whiskey a night, 6 if not 7 days a week, for the last 5 years. During the weekends it would be significantly more. I cut down my drinking to 2-3 days a week in preparation for the cleanse, and now its going to be my first full week with no booze since god knows how long.

@Mojodmonky1 What up.

I've got 5 days left before I start to reintroduce some of the "unapproved" foods like dairy/soy/gluten etc.

I've been doing pretty well on it, first day was the 21st I believe... I like the smoothies, especially in the AM, I've made a couple of soups for dinner but not impressed... The Cream of Spinich was the best but i still prefer the ease of making the smoothie...

Lunch has been tough but some stuff I've been bringing to work is brown rice pasta and grilled chicken... Just gotta make sure you eat enough.

If you have chipotle near you, GO!  Burrito bowl: Brown rice/pinto or black beans/chicken (I x2 my chicken) and Guacamole.
pimp.gif
Takes me like 15 minutes to get there and back and its sooo worth it.

Since you're having trouble with the lunch I definitely would suggest you find some brown rice pasta or make brown rice to go with your chicken (pound the chicken thin and cook it in the pan with olive oil... Season well with salt/pepper)

Anyways, yea I cant wait until next thursday when I can at least eat some cheese again... Going to try to add in each thing one by one to see how they affect me.  I've been snacking on cashews and apples with almond butter... Hummus and stuff.

Down to 193 from 200-201 in large part without much physical activity other than a couple days snowboarding and my Sunday night bball league.

SONUVA....

so this was the place I went for lunch today http://www.mcafedechaya.com/ to get my quinoa/brown rice and veggie bowl

RIGHT NEXT DOOR was a Chipotle. In fact one of my co-workers was like man I cant do this healthy stuff today, I'm goin to Chipotle. I shoulda followed him.

now i know.

Just to give you an idea about the temptations where I work... I'm an Events Manager at a full service Hilton... Cookies and bagels and sandwiches and anything else you can imagine surround me 9 hours a day.
laugh.gif
They cook hot meals for employees as well, usually pasta's or beef products or BBQ Chicken and always a dessert selection.

On top of that, yesterday was my birthday and these fools got me an ice cream cake from Friendly's
mean.gif
Threw that sucka in the freezer for the next week and forgetting about it until then.

Once you get your will power to the point of no return it becomes easier to resist these temptations.  12 ppl standing around eating the cake thats for me and I was able to say no 0_0.

I'll use this to confess my 2 transgressions, last friday at lunch I had 1 beer and today I had a Gluten Free hard cider at lunch... Both days I was up at Gore Mountain snowboarding. There I said it.
