OFFICIAL JUICING THREAD (NOT THAT TYPE OF JUICING)

I used a cup of pineapples, one apple, a cup of blueberries and spinach leaves and barely got anything. Should I add water to it or add more fruits and such?

Add vegetables that have more water in it..

Cucumber
Apple's
Bok choy
Celery
Or add coconut water, almond milk

This weekend was the last to buy girl scout cookies. :frown:

So I bought 6 boxes for after my fast. :D

But now when I think of cookies, chips or fast food, I get disgusted. |I

It's working.

Completed my juice fast yesterday. Original plan was 2 weeks but I felt content with where I was at. Must say I feel amazing and it was exactly what I needed. My mood is 10X better which was my main goal through out all of this. Weight wise, I did lose a little but I'm 5'9 170 so that wasn't really an issue. Overall I would suggest anyone who's thinking about doing it , to do it. Now from here on I will make the effort to put fruits and veggies into my meals. Even a juice every few times a week. S/O to everyone in the thread for advice and djaward djaward for putting us all on to the documentary and the idea of juicing. You're a true inspiration

Official number after 10 full days of the juice fast is 16 pounds lost. As of right now, the weight loss has leveled to about one pound a day. What I find most fascinating is that I'm still pooping. I feel clean and gross at the same time knowing that I'm getting rid of this stuff in my gut that has been in there for years, possibly.

Next milestone is 15 days. Excited to see where I'll be at after 20 days though.
Congrats bro. Keep doing it.

Today I began my 10 day juicing. I feel like Ive been eating a lot, not a lot of bad stuff but just a lot. Yesterday I had a New York steak(like 8 oz) and I felt like a fatty. I really dont eat bad, I just eat a lot.

SO HERE I GO AGAIN.

can you guys recommend some juicers?

or an FAQ on page 1? :nerd:
I can only recommend the one I own. I use a Breville Multi Speed juicer.

Bought it at Macys for $200 and I love it. I went with this model because Im juicing with my wife and we needed something bigger.

Im on day 7 of replacing 2 meals with a smoothie and eating a lean meal for dinner plus working out 5-6 times a week.

I lost 4lbs. Not as quick as you guys. But im just looking for a long term weight loss. Just being healthy and being more active.
Hey as long as your doing bro. Congrats to you.

You gotta add a water veggie like

MORE THAN ONE APPLE and make sure to use the green one. These are not as sweet as the red ones.
Orange
Cucumber (this one gets you a lot of juice)
Lemon
Pineapple but not too much, its really sweet.

i'm saving money for a juicer, but i just use my blender to make my smoothies. i drink my green smoothie for breakfast, and drink the leftovers while i eat my dinner.

i use one cup of orange juice, two cups of kale, a mango, a banana, and 5 strawberries. so yummy. :D

what are some leafy greens that aren't so empowering in flavor? and will putting chia seeds into the blender dominate the fruit and veggie flavor?
I suggest you use real oranges instead of Store bought OJ. Store bought OJ has a lot of sugar and other bad stuff.

All leafy greens are going to have some flavor. What you can do to dilute those flavors is add pineapple (not a lot), lemon, Mango, Apples preferably green but you can use Fuji or Red apples.

You can use some or all the ingredients to dilute flavor of the leaf just dont make it too sweet.

For Chia seeds, I suggest you add them to your drink after you blend it. They taste like nothing when eating them and dont know if they will have some taste if you blend them.

Girl Scout cookies are the devil. I made sure to stay away from those as much as I could. The good thing is that when I did have them in site, I ate one or two. Nothing like before where it was one or two BOXES.

AS for fast food, the cravings are gone. During super bowl, i was craving Dorritos because of all the commercial. Now Im like :x and rather have pita chips.

7 days in, 7 pounds lighter. Cheated today and had Sunday dinner. Back at it in the morning.
Congrats on your weight loss. How many days were you shooting for?

Congratulations man. Great to hear everything went as planned. 170 pounds is where I want to be by June. Ive been juicing every day but after my 30th day, my workouts became once in a while. I need to get back on it to get to your weight.

Thanks for the shout too. Really do appreciate it. I was kinda surprise that no one posted this documents since it been out for a while. Glad to see people care about their health and beginning to juice with me.

To all those juicing, good luck and keep posting. Really enjoy reading up dates and stories of you guys.

WHOS GONNA POST PICS?

Day 13 today. I haven't weighed myself since after day 10, but my pants are loose and some shirts I wear have less of a noticeable bulge from my gut than they used to. I have a four-day weekend, which I took off for the NCAA Tournament, so I plan to get a lot of rest in during that time and do some stretching/light workouts to get things revved up. I've been working about every day since I've been on the fast, so a nice little retreat is welcomed.

What are y'all doing to suppress these hunger pains? Ish is real right now :smh:
You gotta distract your mind from being hungry. Talk a walk, go running, a hike, the gym, ANYTHING. I know someone said they read. Just do something to take your mind off of hunger.

I know its hard to do but its doable and a challenge to yourself.

What day are you on?

Eat Pistachios, I know it's not part of the juice thing. But I guarantee a handful 12-15 will fill you up.

Officially surpassed the 15 day mark. Today is day 16. Still losing one pound a day. I took time off for March Madness, so I have four days of all the time in the world to juice and relax. Should be a great segue into the third week.

What I find funny is how people react when they ask if I'm still juicing (in fact, to them they say: "are you still not eating.") or when I tell them what I've been doing for the past two weeks. "You should eat." "That's not healthy." Or all other various forms of their input that comes from conventional thought. It gives me an added source of motivation to show people that how we think of food is messed up and how we go about nutrition has been severly warped over the years. And I'll show them by losing the weight, experiencing the best health of my life and letting them see just how good I look and how vibrant my personality is, given I haven't eaten. Another thing that will go along with this is making sure to incorporate working out and eating healthy when I'm done. I think a lot of people, because of their own ego's, want to see me fail by gaining everything back when I'm done. It's not happening. Those are my thoughts today.

Congratulations man. Whats the hardest part so far besides not eating?

Isnt it funny how people say "What you are doing is not healthy. You need to eat something"? I would respond by saying "Would you be saying the same thing if I ate a plate of fruits and veggies? They just stay with that confused look on their face.

And you are totally right about people wanting you to fail. A lot of people have that evil mentality on them and wanting to see people fail. Those are the same people that have no will power to stick to a diet or even attempt to try to eat healthy.

And trust me, you will not gain the weight back at all. After your juicing or rebooting, you will start watching what you eat and how much you eat. Your thoughts on food will change and will look at food totally different then how you did before.

I catch my self looking at labels of food Im trying to buy. The healthier food taste a lot better than the other stuff I used to buy. Stay strong @651akathePaul you're on your way to success and you got 14 days left. Its all down hill from here.

Appreciate it. I agree totally with what you said.

The hardest part is socially wanting to go grab a few beers with friends or get home from work and have a cold one while watching a game. I've trained my mind for this period though to realize it's only temporary and I'll someday be able to have a beer again.

This has probably been asked/said on here before but... arent you guys losing weight bc youre in a severe caloric deficit & are essentially starving yourselves?

someone pls clarify.

I don't have a juicer but I do have a blender. I was going to make smoothies with frozen vegetables and fruit. Should I use liquid with it? Almond/soy milk or fruit juice?
Wat I read online is that smoothies aren't that much better for dieting since ur getting more calories

Your correct...

But the idea I'd that if you are getting all of your nutrients and vitamins and minerals (I'll disk in that in a second), you can survive off of just that...

The human body works like that...

If it needs calories and your not giving it to your self, it'll find calories in your body to feed off of... the easiest form of getting calories from your body is fat..

To dig a little deeper into this, the easiest form of fat on a man's body is from face, chest, arms, back...

The hardest? Stomach and thighs... that's why it's always the last place to lose weight when your working out..

But if you want to know how to lose it fast, pm or ask and I'll tell everyone the secret to that...

Sorry for rambling.

The next place your body will reach for calories is muscle... which isn't that bad if your looking to get into model mode...

As long as your getting nutrients and vitamins, you won't die, pass out, faint, collapse or get weak...

Your body will just rub on auto pilot, but super charged on what it needs.

Correct...

But be careful of which liquid you use that's all...

I like almond milk...OD!

But if I want to cut calories I'd just deal with water or coconut water..

Coconut is sweet but not high in calorie...
