4. "Trolling", or making posts with the sole intention of creating problems on the board is against NT guidelines. This includes registering an alternate ID for the purpose of creating problems on the board. "Troll ID's" will be locked immediately and permanently, and can be locked without notification to the rule breaker. Don't get yourselves banned over something stupid.  If you ever want a shot of reopening or recreating the other thread, you'd better at least prove yourselves capable of demonstrating some basic responsibility.  

but what if a thread is dying and you save it by allowing it to flowerish with new blood?

For example, lets say a fallen angel (we'll call her Cantrel) is exposed as being a fraud and the thread dedicated to her is slowly abandoned. Then by the good efforts of a caring few that thread is resurrected by including some rising angels who are in the Cantrel mode? Similiar to how the Washington Wizards where resurrected by adding a young John Wall, Bradley Beal and Marcin Gortat to the roster after the Gilbert Arenas debacle.

When the Wizards were among the worst teams in the league, we didn't allow fans of other teams to come in and try to hijack the thread to give it "new blood." 

You know what the issue is here.  

Banning a user from a thread takes two clicks.  Banning a user from the entire site takes two clicks.  

If you want to reopen or replace the other thread, the only way to do it is to prove to the staff that its regulars can be counted on to report all violations immediately, ensure the discussion remains focused, and respect our community's standards/policies at all times.   What I've seen thus far demonstrates the opposite, and only reinforces the decision to lock that thread.

I see your point. I suppose the jay-z theme music was a bit much.

I was thinking more of a seattle supersonics situation, wherein supersonics fans become Wizards fans and then recruit Kevin Durant to Washington DC in hopes of finally bringing a championship to the capital. A merging of powers and resources, if you will.

We were already warned when somebody else brought up somebody's sex tape or nudes of something like that. I already forget. That was like a week ago. Nobody reported posts then and nobody urged ppl to stop soon enough before Meth had to come in and tell us to stop. So we were already on thin ice.

If I recall right, Meth also warned us a long while back so this was kinda our 3rd strike anyway.
