Contract the post office explain the situation and hopefully they have him on camera picking up the shoes. Contact the police afterwards.

OP, your best bet is to go to the scammers house and handle your business. NT isn't going to do it for you, we never have, and we never will. We can find people for you, but when it comes to actually doing something about it NT is just going to offer to send pizzas to their house or tell you to record the meet up.

I don't get what people want from us in these cases.
What do you want me to do? Make a better site than $¢ with a safer buy/sell area and less fraud? We did that - 14 years ago.
I could understand warning people about a potential fraud, but the incident didn't happen here. I can't get somebody banned from another website. And I can't allow people to post personal information on THIS website and try to incite our users to go intimidate/harass someone for obvious liability reasons.
At the end of the day, you have to be the one to contact the authorities and report the crime. It is YOUR responsibility.
Nobody can do that for you. It's a rather unfair shortcut to ask our members to bear the burden for you. To ask our members to harass this person on your behalf is to ask them to commit a wrong to "counteract" the wrong that was done to you - or would you rather our users potentially put themselves directly in harm's way to get back your sneakers? Both requests are unfair and unreasonable.
I think it's wonderful that our members demonstrate such loyalty and concern for one another, but that's not something to abuse or wield like a weapon.
If you want to warn our fellow members about a criminal who could very well attempt to victimize them, great. If you want to inquire about next steps or advice, so be it.
