The story of the 2014 Royal Rumble wasn't Dave Batista returning to win his second Rumble match, or Randy Orton defeating John Cena to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Title.  It was the fans and their vocal disapproval of the product they were given last night, mainly focused on Daniel Bryan.  The Royal Rumble is often the second most anticipated and remembered show of the year, and this year it will certainly never be forgotten due to the fans hijacking the show.  Though if the booking continues on the path its on, WrestleMania may be even worse.
  • The New Age Outlaws d The Rhodes Brothers to win the WWE Tag Team Championships on the Preshow Match
  • Bray Wyatt d Daniel Bryan in easily the best match of the show.
  • Brock Lesnar d The Big Show.  Brock destroyed Show with a chair before the match.  The match was started and Show hit a knockout punch.  Brock recovered and hit the F5 for the win in 2:01.  After the match, Brock repeatedly beat Big Show with the chair.  Brock was made to look like a killer, but Big Show walked out under his own power after at least 15-20 chair shots.
  • Randy Orton d John Cena to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.  This was the match that the fans really turned on the show because they had no interest in seeing Orton and Cena for the 1000th time.  The crowd immediately broke into chants of Boring, followed by Yes, No, Daniel Bryan, Undertaker, Y2J, Randy Savage, This is Awful, and We Want Divas among others.  The match had a ref bump.  The lights went out and the Wyatts surrounded the ring.  Cena was distracted and Orton won with a rollup.  The Wyatts beat up Cena after the match.  Just like Show, Cena also walked to the back on his own.
  • Dave Batista won the Royal Rumble.  I thought the match itself was very well worked, one of the better Rumbles in history.  However, the crowd did not want to see Dave Batista win, and they let that be clearly known.  Rey Mysterio was entrant 30 which meant Daniel Bryan was not in the Royal Rumble.  From this point forward, the crowd killed the remainder of the match.  Some of the key spots were Punk and Rollins starting things off.  Sheamus made his return.  Kevin Nash, JBL and Alexander Rusev (NXT) were surprise entrants.  Sheamus made his return, and El Torito was in there for comedy.  Kane was eliminated almost instantly by Punk, but Kane later pulled out Punk from the outside.  Roman Reigns was the star of the match eliminating 12 men, a new single Royal Rumble record.  It came down to Reigns and Batista.  The crowd getting behind Reigns was the only excitement they had in the last 15 minutes of the match.  The two traded spears before Batista eventually threw Reigns out.  The cameras stayed extremely tight on Batista as Vince didn't want to capture the disapproving crowd.  After the show went off the air, Batista played heel, including flipping off some fans.
In an interesting note, when the Royal Rumble was aired hours later in India, WWE had removed all crowd noise from the Orton/Cena and Royal Rumble matches.

Coming out of last night's Rumble, first we have Elimination Chamber.  The Elimination Chamber match currently looks like:
  • Randy Orton
  • John Cena
  • Brock Lesnar
  • Bray Wyatt
  • Daniel Bryan
  • Sheamus
We'll also likely get CM Punk v Kane.

This will lead us into WrestleMania which is now shaping up as:
  • Brock Lesnar v The Undertaker
  • HHH v CM Punk
  • John Cena v Bray Wyatt
  • Randy Orton (c) v Batista for the WWE World Heavyweight Title
  • Daniel Bryan v Sheamus
  • Goldust v Cody Rhodes
The early word coming out of tonight's Raw is that while the show is being rewritten (this is normal for WWE), there are no plans to shake up the WrestleMania card based upon the reaction of the fans to Daniel Bryan.  It will be interesting tonight to see how a non-PPV, midwest town (Cleveland) reacts to Bryan, Batista, Cena, and Orton.

Congrats to the Royal Rumble winner... Meangene45 with a score of 785, beating out the 2nd place finisher by 45 points.

I've decided this year that since Elimination Chamber has become the 4th biggest PPV of the year (ahead of Survivor Series), it will now be worth 1000 points as well!  Survivor Series will remain worth 1000 points along with Summerslam.  WrestleMania is worth 2000, and all other PPVs are worth 500.

How long have you been watching wrestling buddy? WWE RARELY gives in to fan demand................ This man has been hot since Wrestlemania 28... We are knockin on WM 30 and he held the belt for like 5 minutes.....

Like I said in the previous thread.............. If TNA were serious competition, than yeah, People like Ziggler, Ryder, even Ryback would be main eventers right now, because if not, they would just bolt to the other company, but being the only game in town means you can troll the fans as long as you want.

They are a publicly traded company, WWE Network is only gonna raise their stock.....

Daniel Bryan has neither the look or gimmick to present to the puclic as the "face of the Company" , Character wise he is leaps and bounds a better person than Orton, but Orton has that look that makes Vince/HHH/Steph drool

Latest update from Meltzer:
After rewriting several segments throughout the day, we just got word the show is changing again less than two hours before it's start.

Also, it's confirmed Big Show is not at TV, as he flew home from Pittsburgh on the same plane with Kevin Nash.

Dudes been saying this since the summer. They don't know what the hell they're doing with this dude. When they put him with the Wyatt's I knew they were lost.

Daniel Bryan lost the Heavyweight Championship in 18 seconds at Wrestlemania 28, was kept longer than anyone wanted to as Kane's tag-team partner for Wrestlemania 29, and now this. The WWE definitely does not have any big plans for him. As someone above mentioned, we've been seeing this for about 3 years now. All of the fans logically think that one day he will get his just do, but this will be 3 Wrestlemanias in a row where he isn't a part of anything important. I already lost hope, as it is clear that the company is clueless.
