Is N.E.R.D.'s "Fly or Die" underrated?

Pharrell was never as popular as he is now even during the height of the Neptunes run.

He wasn't performing at the Grammy's/every relevant festival before 2013, his public profile had actually gotten lower.

Performing at the Grammys doesn't solidify his popularity.

Dude has won Grammys. Designed for LV, moncler, etc.

He's just back popular again.

Everyone has known dude before 2013. He might be more popular now due to his recent collabs but lets not act like the world just discovered dude.

Why do people act like Pharrell wasn't always popular?

He's not any more popular now, than he was 4-5 years ago.

Pharrell was always a super popular dude. NERD just wasn't a super popular group.

He was a household name then, but he's branched out even more since then. Doing soundtracks and collaborating with Hans Zimmer and other legendary producers, expanding his brand with the clothing lines and whatnot. The industry is so fickle now, that it's easy for a lot of listeners to forget just how long the Neptunes' time in the sun lasted. It's like Timbo's resurgence in '06.

I don't know how this song never blew up:

The Way She Dances>*

I feel this way as NERD as a whole. Their sound had an iconic feel, so you wonder why it never was picked up on a mainstream level.

For me it FOD, SS, ISO, and then Nothing, all are good for different reasons but I always felt FOD was a more comprehensive album . I think "Forreal" is working on his solo and a NERD album, plus King Push, should be a dope wave of music soon.

One of the best songs ever

The beat is just

:pimp: It really is. I saw an interview where Tyler the Creator said hearing this song on the radio changed his life

It just didn't blow for some reason. Imagine if they had given this song to Hov back in that 2000-2003 time period (with their Pharrell hook + Jay-z verse formula).. It would have been MASSIVE :smh:

The Neptunes won all 4 of their Grammys prior to 2013 and Pharrell has performed at the Grammys more than once.
