How Much Longer Do KD and CP3 Get A Pass? (Rings)

The media loves to play the blame game when it comes to superstars not winning a ring, as if basketball is a 1-on-1 sport.

How much longer until the media starts blaming Durant and Chris Paul for not "having what it takes to lead their team to a championship." Dwight has gotten it. Melo Anthony has gotten it. LeBronze got it. So when does the media turn on CP3 and KD or will it never happen since they are such media darlings?

PS: I love my city like I love my life. Don't tell me I am making this thread to put KD down.

Por favor, responda

It's coming for Durant whenever Lebron passes him the torch.

I have no idea how Chris Paul escapes it. Must be his playing style. I can't think of a pass first guy that has caught flak.

Its rarely Chris Paul's fault when his team loses, he can only make his teammates so much better

It boggles my mind how a lot of people give him flak. I can't think of a post season he has been in where he has been sub par or the reason they lost. Maybe those '12 Clips but he brought them to that level and outside of Blake, that roster was ******g atrocious in the post season.

He should get a pass for having that dog **** Hornets team win two games against the Lakers in '10.

KD gets a pass for a couple more years b/c he's relatively young and is playing at the same time as someone named lebron ...

KD, Chris and especially Dwight & Melo should be bagged on. Well actually Dwight n' KD have been to the finals so they are achievers. But Chris and Melo need to hear the criticism.

lebron isnt close to passing the torch, but kd AND the thunder are ready to just snatch the crown. kd gets a pass for the russ injury last year

Melo gets ragged on the regular.

He does, but not for having no rings, though. Melo doesn't get half of the slander that Lebron did for not having rings, and this dude hasn't even been to finals.

I do agree that CP3's time is running out though. It's either this year or next imo.

KD is good for a few years.

How many times in NBA history has a team won a championship with their best player being a point guard?  (Serious question)

I think this is why Paul gets a pass.

^ Chauncey Billups
Totally disagree with this.  Those championship teams that Billups were on were LOADED.  IIRC, those teams had 4 all stars on them.

Ok so one?  That's the point I am getting at.  In the history of the NBA, teams that are led by a superstar point guard rarely win championships.

I think the media's subconscious (or conscious) affinity for dynamo wings is why Chris Paul gets a pass.

This is the season for Durant. He has to at a minimum get out of the West or he'll receive the backlash.

CP needs to get to a finals at this point.
CP Never gets any blame. Anybody else can have bum teammates and get crowned on and he has a decent squad but when they fall short everybody will be blaming jc, bg, dj etc

So is no one really agreeing with me over the fact that CP3 gets a pass because he is a point guard?

I mean, I rarely hear anyone (NT, analysts, people in general), give all time great point guards any amount of crap for not winning titles.

Chris Paul is a point guard. The job of a point guard is to make other players around him better, not carry the team on his back singlehandedly.

The only people who would bash Paul are those who don't understand basketball. He's been very good in all of his playoff appearances, unfortunately his teams lacked a legit #1 option. Not his fault.

The players who should be feeling pressure are Durant, Melo, Dwight (everyone's pretty much done with him at this point)

i have always been saying this

1. pass first guys dont get as much heat for team success than "ball hogs"

2. you cant win a championship when your best player is your PG

IMO CP3 not being able to get his team past the first round is just as bad as melo or tmac. its just that cp3 plays basketball "the right way" so people look past him and blame his teammates
