Authentic Jordan 11s being burned ? Someone please explain

Just saw someone post this video of someone burning a 100% authentic jordan 11 bred to see if it would cook an egg.

What is the sneaker world coming to? Someone help explain. I have been looking for these in my size and cant find any authentic ones and when I see this its a shame.
