Who reinvented themselves better, 2Chainz or Juicy J?

I was thinking about this the other day asked a bunch of the homies and almost exactly half said Juicy J half said 2Chainz

They're both rap vets Juicy being in the game since the early 90s with 3-6, 2Chainz since the early 00's with DTP.

Both put out good albums last year IMO

And both these ****** have been all over the radio in the last few years

It seemed like 2Chainz sat back, studied the rap game and tailored his approach to what  was hot. With basically a whole new image, new name, new adlibs (TRUUUUUU)  and a dumbed down but wittier rapping style that allowed his charisma to carry his songs, he came through and turned himself into arguably one of the hottest rappers of the last few years

Juicy came a little left field also tho, both rappers have a good ear for beats but I think Juicy J's ear helped him more than anything. He hooked up with ****** like Lex Luger and Mike Will and  blended  remnants of the old 3-6 sound with the trap beats, his new **** is noticeably different but in a way still feel like the same ole juicemane. Being affiliated with Wiz when he was blowing up prolly didn't hurt either

In a way this is really kinda like Juicy J's 3rd or 4th reinvention, with 3-6 he went through the Tear Da Club up phase, the Stay Fly/Poppin My Collar phase, the Lolli Lolli

phase, and now here today. Dat longevity

They're usually aren't second chances like this in rap, as fans we're so fickle once you lose that initial buzz it's pretty much over with, but these 2 dudes pulled it off both at like 35+ too

So who ya'll think "came back" better?

In the eyes of casual rap fans, 2 chainz didn't have a comeback cause he wasn't coming back from anything

I was a Tity Boi fan so I applaud his reinvention but the Juicemane been going strong for three decades

The Lolli Lolli phase :x :x

I would say 2Chainz just cause he easily could've been left for dead like a lot of other DTP artists (are artists whose homies put them on after they blow). 2Chainz is basically a brand new rapper, and new fans of his probably only first remember him from the Duffle Bag Boys hook.

But, nothing makes me happier than Kuicy J reinventing himself to still be here and on the radar more than 20 years later. Have all his albums, group and solo, all his mixtapes, and that's just a great feeling to still be rocking with him. Other vets should follow suit, instead of Lord Jamaring themselves. You can very much be a vet and still be on the radar without compromising yourself.

If juicy j never reinvented himself he'd still be remembered for his contributions with 3-6. 2 Chainz on the other hand didn't have that, his comeback was more crucial.

this. i respect chainz's hustle. he never gave up on his dream.
the crazy part about, he been knew he had it

I think Juicy since he wasnt mainstream with Three 6. Most people arent aware 2chainz was ever called Tity Boi.

That being said Juicy has become whack as hell

2chainz easily reinvented himself better. His career was left for dead when he went by Tity Boi. Now my grandma knows who 2chainz is

And I think y'all over estimating Juicy J with the mainstream talk. Yeah they were big to hood ****** and southern whites but they didn't really get mainstream til Stay Fly hit and that buzz was gone shortly thereafter

Juicy J is basically a new rapper too this is a different generation its people 17-18 banging Juicy J who were like 9 years old when their last good album Most Known Unknown dropped

doesn't matter. fact of the matter is if in 2010 Juicy J and 2 Chainz decided to quit rapping

Juicy J would have had an Oscar, a reality show, and Poppin My Collar + Stay Fly.

What would Chainz have had? Duffle Bag Boy?

What does have to do with the topic tho?

My comment was in response to people saying 2chainz was essentially a new rapper that nobody had heard of like that.

You sound like you tryna argue accomplishments

For the people who said 2Chainz don't y'all think it would be harder to get back popping after your buzz falls off as opposed to if you are perceived as being a "new" artist?

niquefreak94 niquefreak94 Nvm bruh I thought you were getting at something different

to answer your first question: nah.

Juicy J had die hard 3-6 fans who will ALWAYS mess with him.

he had people who liked his reality show who will always just

check to see what his new music sounds like. 2chainz had far

fewer (if any) die hard fans who give a damn about if he put

anything else out.

Juicy J been fire since day one. I liked his album too.

Titty Boi was cool, I liked most of his features. 2 Chainz is a rupaul dressing schmuck. His albums and mix tapes are trash.

I don't know if you can pick one though.
Three 6 Mafia had pretty much faded away. Paul and Juice started doing solo tapes and albums again. Juice got hot with RBB1
Titty Boi couldn't get a solo album. Playaz Circle put out two albums that didn't sell at all. Then all of the sudden 2 Chainz puts on a dress and get a few hard beats, boom.

Tity Boi verse on "Fightin in the Club" Chingy killed it too :smokin

Anyone remember that I-20 album? :smh: I bought that, it had a few joints that were real cool but it had some serious trash on it. :x

Its all relative to the music made before the buzz falls off. Considering Juicemane had more hits than misses before his buzz fell off, he was in a good position to get back into the mainstream even as a solo artist.

I remember there being like 14 tracks, and I-20 went like 10/14 on there, so I don't know about that

Go back and listen to it. I would be shocked if you liked 10s song today. I liked 6-8 songs on it. It wasn't a bad album but it didn't have many joints that I was crazy about.
