What to do when Ebay bans you?

So I got the dreaded banning from ebay today for flipping some shoes outside of their site, no different than what 90% of shoe sellers do on there. With that channel shut down for offing my extras, what's the next best way to get exposure to be able to move my shoes?

I'm working on growing my twitter presence and instagram as well as a square market store. Any other way to go about this?

Also, has anyone had any luck getting back on ebay? Everywhere I look they say to not even dare try to make a new account, but I feel like if you have a separate mailing address and use a different card/bank acct that it can be done? Thoughts?

Feel free to flame away and laugh in my face in the meantime.

What did you do? Make an auction and then send a paypal invoice to the buyer?

I got hit with a violation for this last year, it kept me in a probational period for a bit like six months.

I didn't slow down though, for every 5 things I put on ebay, 4.5 get sold through invoices.

Craigslist bro.

Just do this, list your stuff. If someone wants to buy, make sure you meet them at a bank, grocery store or police station.

I dont think anyone is dumb enough to pull anything at either one of these locations.

I've sold on there for over a year with 100% feedback. I would do as I would think most on here would, set a price slightly higher than market to cover ebay fees if someone decided to go that route, but my ears were open if someone didn't want to pay that price and I would offer to send an invoice via paypal. I'd say it was 50-50 as to what would sell through ebay vs paypal invoice. I wasn't blatant about it, just would have a google voice number listed for people to text with questions or offers.

I have to think they were reading some ebay emails because there were times when deal talking would be made through there. My mistake on that one, I should have just kept it vague and said text if you want to talk.... but I got lax.

Don't think the local market is that great around me for that. I'm listing locally and on the large city craigslists and offering to do paypal invoice, we'll see how that goes. But I was just getting some decent volume going the last couple months, and ebay gave great exposure for marketing.

I called in to see if they'd reverse it, but after going up two levels they said there was no reversing it. And to add insult to injury, the operator said she couldn't figure out why I was being banned since my feedback was 100% and I had no complaints lodged against me. I'm not going to lie, I know why I was caught, just didn't think I was as blatant about it as I evidently was.

I did the same. I think in December I did like 10 transactions like this, and I did not get in trouble. But I do have a feeling that they read messages. My dad bought an item from someone and the seller didn't want to sell it for some reason because it was low, and eventually that seller was no longer a user.

I'm thinking I will just have to make a new account via a different work address and bank account and only service it from that address, that way ip's aren't traced. Obviously the part that stinks is rebuilding the feedback score....

Has no one else out there run into this issue? I can't believe with all those flipping shoes on here that they're not running afoul of ebay.....

Another thing I don't get is how someone has an ebay store and all over their page for an item is their physical address, phone number and website. All ways for users to simply go and contact them outside of ebay. A coworker today told me today he found a part for a four wheeler of his on ebay, called the number in the ad, told the guy that's where he saw it and the guy sold him the part no questions asked.... Yet they go after the relative little guy flipping 5 or 6 pairs of shoes a month.... smh

they let it rock most of the time cuz paypal is also owned by ebay so they still see money. If they didn't own paypal they wouldn't let all the paypal invoice stuff go on, ebay is not stupid. They know a lot of people have begun to do that in the last year or two. Also agree that for every 5 items I put up about three or four are sold through paypal, just sold one now

what happened to you is either some jerk reported you or you got too blatant with putting it in the listing

damn they really banned you? I don't even understand how that policy is legal to be quite honest; I expect a class action lawsuit coming their way

Technically it's their site and their rules.... I doubt there's a God given right to use their site. I get it. As for reinstating, after my phone call, I was told there is no chance of that ever happening. I think I'm going to just have to go legit with a business account from a business address and business credit card/bank account. Thank goodness I'm married and have a wife I can work through on that, I just need to make sure to keep her personal account legit.

I've been pretty blatant, I guess I'm lucky. I won't risk it anymore though.

I've been banned as well. I just sell on some of the sneaker selling IG accounts(@kicks4sale, @sellkicks etc.). You hit a wide range of people for only a $1.50/post
