What to do when Ebay bans you?

for some reason the site is jacked up tonight and not working right but this is the first i seen this. I thought it was because I put up a boatload of add that had tagged pics with my google voice, but i'm not the only one having this issue it seems. Thought I was about to get banned there too! LOL

I was indefinitely suspended from selling on ebay recently due to exchanging emails for PayPal invoice with another user. Had been on ebay for 14 years, perfect feedback, no past violations or warnings.  Tried talking on phone to multiple tiers of CS reps and nothing, it was like I was dead to them, "there is no resolution for your current selling status at ebay" then awkward silence followed with "I understand how you must feel" and repeated I'm sorries mixed in.  It can happen to anyone.

Will try Kixify and other avenues but hard to compete with the amount of traffic ebay commands. Will most likely go stealth to get back on.

A list of ebay alternatives would be cool

i haven't gotten around to setting up my stealth acct yet, but definately check out kixify. I think it's a hair easier to run via paypal, and i've even had soem sales through the site. As I mentioned before I've gotten more sales there in the same time period vs my last two weeks on ebay. Also, I noted I have more views on kixify at this point as well.

I'd just love it if a viable alternative to ebay came to the forefront.

If it didn't cost anything, I'd set up my own site for people to run sales via paypal. I'm just not techno savy enough to pull it off. I would figure you could make a decent penny

Signed up, waiting for approval on Kixify. I wish Google would come out with their own auction site to rival ebay.

What are your thoughts on Kixify? I just signed up as well.

It appears that they take 8% off any sale. How do they pay you? Is PayPal involved?

I've sold one pair on through the site (the others led to pp invoice sales), I'm assuming i'll get a bill from them to pay the 8%. When someone buys, it just goes into your paypal account and you just treat it like a paypal invoice order (print the shipping label and ship it).

So far I like the exposure I'm getting on there, I'm actually seeing more page views than what I got from ebay, there's less competition it seems.

I'm still pricing my shoes like i did on ebay (with enough built in to cover the commission, paypal fee and shipping), and if that just leads to a deal via pp invoice then so be it. I'm sure plenty of sales will run through their site and they'll get a good amount of money from me.

Now to just get my feedback score up!

I've offically deaded all outside of ebay sales.

My question is this though, if you have an item listed on here or other sites and on ebay as well and you sell the item on one of those sites with no record of messages about the item on ebay, would they get suspicious over that.

Its not worth the risk getting banned to try and save 10% imo seeing how their actually cracking down on this now.

I wonder how far back their going through people's transactions or how blatant the sellers who got banned were about it.

I doubt it. Also eBay is stupid. Not only do they charge 10% but feedbacks are not required. I completed three transactions and not one person left a feedback :smh: I gave them 10% three times for no reason

I think the key is getting buyers to contact you outside of ebay and not get a message chain going where they can go back and track.

Here's what I see is key if you intend to work deals outside of ebay while using ebay for marketing.

1. Invoice from a paypal acct not tied to your ebay acct.
2. If an items sells, go in and change your asking price (assuming you are on a buy it now set up) to something so rediculous that no one in their right mind would buy it and actually pay for it and then let the listing run its course and not relist it after that.
3. I'd tag your pics with your google voice or twitter handle so that nothing is put in the description of the item, and i would not have the main photo with the contact info.

IF I decide to get back on there, that will be how I roll. Lesson learned.

They take 14%!  They own Paypal so they're getting paid off of both fees.  I got sick of playing their games so I started my own site.  Screw ebay.

I'm still having decent success with kixify at this point. Getting more views and generating sales (some in some out).

This happened to me twice but I got reinstated twice and they were def reading my messages. I sold at least 50-70 things outside of eBay store. After the second time I knew eBay were a bunch of clowns. I dont sell on that name anymore but I still can

This is what you got to do if they dont reinstate you. You better not use that same computer or IP address because they will link account. Your IP is on that blacklist. If you make another ebay name on that account they will ban you within 24-48. They will find you .

Other than that someone has got to get eBay up outta here man.

To me the worst part about eBay is how they treat sellers like employees of their site.  They rarely take our side in disputes, we aren't allowed to leave Buyers negative feedback, and screw us on fees...when all they've done is provide traffic to your items and the credibility of being a known/trusted name.

I believe if you put enough work in, you can build a reputation and fanbase of your own that's positive enough to sell your items.

how much traffic is legitiamately on here? I didn't think iss was that great, i've listed a few but not the traffic over there that is here.

i cant sell on the internet anymore, too many low lives with these scams and chargebacks. im not rich and gonna risk losing $300 and a pair of shoes.

got about 15-20 kicks i wanna unload but :smh:

^ all you have to do is protect yourself with signature confirmation and your pretty much straight

At this point, if their feedback is low or their PayPal isn't confirmed I just refund them and block that persons ebay name.

That lack of protection when it comes to chargebacks is rediculous though.

meh, ive seen nd heard plenty of stories with people who have all the proof and sig and still get scammed.

plenty of paypal stories on the net and forums.

i just wanna get as close to market value for my kicks, i usually just unload them off to solesupremacy but i want more money

it shows that the person got the shoes...it cant be a complaint about the condition of the shoes if you have pictures... i just dont see how the buyer can get away with a chargeback if they know the condition of the shoes prior to buying and they signed off on receiving the package... what possible excuse can they use to get away with the chargeback?
