Its simple supply and demand, not buyers spending more to ensure their pair is legit or holders of authentics pairs upping their price as DJ mentioned above. Whats stopping fakes seller to up the price of fakes as well?

If fakes never existed their still would be the same amount of legit pairs available

If fakes enter the market guess what, their would still be the same amount of legit pairs available, only this time more buyers (hip to the game or not) have more supply to choose from which in turn decreases the demand. Imagine if fakes didnt exist, now you have more buyers in the market all trying to get their hands on a shoes which is highly limited. Generally fakes/GMs, etc lower pricing.

What yeezy shoe went down in price/value when fakes starting showing up? Even super fakes?

Name one for me.....
None because the hype/demand increased which increased the price of the shoe, not because fakes entered the market.

i guess what frustrated some of us who've always been into yeezys, is these RO's are the first yeezy with no premium materials... there's not a hint of leather, or anything high quality on these... the first yeezys (zens and nets) had the best leather i've seen on a nike shoe, and the solars and plats have the leather on the sides and it's hand cut...

so the resell price is ALL hype on these RO's... it's all people trying to cash in, and the random drop left more of us yeezy collectors high and dry, unlike when we had a head's up b4...

the RO's are commanding this high of a resell price for a couple reasons.... for one, every yeezy release gets higher and higher resells, cuz resellers know what the previous releases went for, and wanna push it higher... but it's also cuz this is Ye's last effort with nike.

the only other factor, like i said a bunch already, was that people saw the early stolen pairs fetching $6K, and cats like FC saw that and thought "well, if people are dumb enough to drop $6K on these, they might do it when they actually release too"... so they set that price, and wala, some have been selling for that.

i doubt they'd be selling for that much had nike treated these like the solars and plats and given them out to so many celebs... freaking D-list rappers were getting solars and plats... they make up most of the market of buyers who will drop $6K to have the hottest shoe of the year, so they are FC's bread and butter on this release...

all that said, prices are coming down a little bit everyday... yeah, there's still pairs selling for obscene amounts, but there's also more and more pairs selling for lower prices...

these cats holding out for $4,500 +, and aren't going thru FC or some consignment spot, are gonna regret turning down really good offers later, cuz they're gonna have to settle for less soon. and then they're gonna have to sit on them a good bit longer and wait for the price to go back up (which isn't terribly hard since they don't have a lot invested in them, nearly everyone got them for retail, which is insane, cuz on all of the previous yeezy releases, very few were attained for actual retail)...

For those that have copped to rock any Yeezy 2,  What is your favorite way to lace them?

@DJ Proto J
 ?

I'm thinking of just tightening the lace locks and letting the laces hang down through the strap.
I rock em like this. But i remove the lace tips so i won't lose em. View media item 812757

This pic cheers me up that even though I missed out on the red October, I atleast have a pair of solars, which are the best out of the three...no brag lol

I guess we are on the same page than, I thought it was comical when someone posted that the prices/value of these would go down when the fakes flood the market.

I wasn't nearly as salty missing out on the ROs as the Solars and Plats.

Two different points we're talking about now bro, read my original reply.

i never understood why people say "i don't wear them with the lace tips because i don't want to lose them." i get that the tips on solars and plats come off easier than RO's, but what good do the lace tips do you stashed in a drawer? if you're rocking yeezys without the tips it looks like you already lost em. i can see if you plan on selling your "VNDS" yeezys down the road and want the tips for resale value or if you're just running out to the store, okay, but if not... what's the point? just rock em and tread lightly.

 where did you hear super perfects aren't available to anyone ? Thats BS.

Also... whos the real idiot? The person who spends $3500 on the Authentic? Or the guy person who spends less than 1/10 of that on some identical shoes ?

i dunno, in the last yeezy thread that got locked, cats were saying that yeezybay wasn't responding to most people.

and who is the real idiot? the person who has the money, is a serious collector, and doesn't settle for fakes, takes pride in having a clean, 110% authentic collection, and knows they have the ACTUAL air yeezy 2 in their collection? or the person who still drops WAY too much money for a fake, and tries to fool people into thinking he's got the real thing, when even if he fools others, he can't fool himself?

it's not even about what other people think, tho most people would get called out by people in the know, if they tried to pass off fakes for authentic... but even if you fool everyone, you can't fool yourself.

that's the difference between taking this seriously, and not.

like i said, serious art collectors don't settle for fakes or prints, they go after the real thing. it's something their passionate about.

how are they idiots?

just cuz you don't have the money to spend on authentic stuff doesn't mean someone who does, is an idiot.

this is what's so funny to me about these fake warriors lately (and you sound like one of them)... they think people are idiots for having more money than they have. not everyone who spends big bread on the real thing is living beyond their means. you don't need to be in people's pockets counting their money anyways, how they spend their money is none of your business.

and then some have the nerve to call the ones who buy authentics the hype beasts, when they're the ones who have to have a shoe so bad that they can't afford (a lot of times they don't even know if they like it or not, they just want the hottest new, most hype thing, chances are just to stunt on people who don't know any better), that they settle for a fake... it doesn't get any more beastly than that.

Where you see these settling at, 2000? Lol

thinking maybe you quoted the wrong person, cuz i don't think i said that.

i'm thinking they settle between $2,500 - $3K in the coming weeks (which pairs have already been going for), b4 pairs start drying up.

think I'm close to securing a pair.....btw if you buy from overseas...makes sure they have a small square sticker y the size tag.

question to the solar owners; I know the leathers ages and gets that ashy look, however has anyone tried conditioning the leather to keep it from getting that ashy look? is it even possible or is it inevitable?

I just asked a simple question.... Looks like a struck a nerve though.

Really though?... Comparing 1 of 1 works of art to mass produced sweatshop sneakers ? I think you just answered my question :smh:

Info on this?

I'm close to getting a pair for my friend from overseas, now I'm nervous.

I can always get the money back, but I'd rather just avoid the hassle.
