Nike Air Yeezy Red October 2 Thread Officially Released VIA NDC 2/9. No BUYING/SELLING/TRADING.

The quality isn't as bad as folks make it out to be though.

It's not the greatest by any means, but I was expecting JB Retro type quality on mine

I do agree that they could have done a much better job on them though now that I have them in hand.

The biggest complaint seems to be about the midsole paint job.
This.

I can see some black through the paint on my midsole.

However, I'm not going to sit here and get mad over it.  The entire shoe itself is still amazing and a must for my collection.

This is going to be me rocking them in Vegas at Encore Beach Club/Marquee:

How can something might be a GR and numbers are still limited?

Black/Red XIs were a true GR but I'm sure almost no one is salty on missing out on those. Even if they aren't sitting on shelves right now.

What if a shoe sells out and everyone is able to get their pairs? Does it still mean something? You were disputing the point that this adidas shoe will be limited and people won't get a pair but Kanye said it himself they won't be limited. Then your saying they will still sell out but that doesn't mean that there will be a lot of people who didn't get a chance at a pair either like these Yeezys

Really? You're really asking this?

Really?

Think about that question for a while and then get back to me. On average how long do Jordan & Nike GR's take to sellout?

Some of ya'll man, it's like pulling teeth trying to help ya'll understand things.

Not saying they wont sell but you will have a much better chance at getting them then you did the Yeezy's. Karmaloop confirmed they'll be receiving some, probably not the limited ones which are probably the nice ones but it's more of a hope of purchasing.

All contingent on Kanye being able to produce a good sneaker with what adidas has.

Okay a better chance is not the same as them being available for everyone.

Yeezy is probably going to drop a hot shoe with Adidas, in multiple colorways and they'll all sell out day 1.

Now will more people get them? Sure. Will a lot of people still miss out? YES.

IF we're saying they'll be more accessible that's one argument.

But it's foolish to believe that his Adidas shoe won't be highly coveted and won't sell out instantaneously day 1.

Will the resell be far lower than the RO's? Yes, but that's a different statement.

But it's not like people can sleep in on the day of release and will still be able to get them at anytime without having to sell some sort of resell.

GR =/= unlimited quantities, what is so hard to grasp about that statement? Seriously....

Where did you see me state everyone will get a pair of adidas X Kanye west? Never said that, just said they will be easier to get based on pure numbers and retail providers. He said he designed 20 shoes with adidas for the men and women's line, that's already much more than nike was willing to produced. Just stating these will be easier to get, speaking about the GR pairs not the special release I'm sure they have planned.

Dude making hypothetical assumptions and theoretical situations and he is making factual conclusions for a shoe we haven't even seen. Done with this argument.

nah but ya'll acting like they'll be unlimited. like some Superstars.

like GRs don't sell out day 1.

hypothetical assumptions? do you even know what an hypothesis is?

based on how other rapper's shoes have sold with Adidas, and based on how pretty much everything Kanye has ever touched, be it LV, APC, or Nike has sold out instantaneously it's not a leap to believe the same will hold true with his Adidas project.

Be done with the argument, because you're wrong.

factual conclusions . hear yourself right now?

Here's my take on it—even if a sneaker is labeled as a GR, that doesn't necessarily mean it will be easier to purchase. The main factor one has to keep in mind is demand. If a GR supply is less than demand, product will quickly sell out and there will be many customers who miss out. Thus, the "illusion" of "limited" will be created—not because the release was in fact limited, but because a GR supply didn't meet the high demand.

The Playoff 11 and the Gamma 11 were both labeled as GR and many people still missed out and had to resort to paying resell price. This is because demand was greater than supply, not because it was a limited release. On the flip side, you have QS releases from Nike Sportswear that sit on shelves that nobody wants because demand is less than supply even if the supply was limited to begin with.

TLDR; even though the Kanye x Adidas collection will be a GR, it will still be tough to obtain because of the demand due to Kanye West.

Maybe you have me confused? the original message you quote was just stating the 2 chainz adidas can still be found for retail, I wasn't talking about the Adidas X West shoe.

in any case man the 2 chainz shoe sold pretty darn well.

Big Sean's shoe sold out.

This Kanye bro. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how his adidas shoe will sell out.. It really truly doesn't.

You hit the nail right on the head. But many folks confuse the two. They also want/yearn for exclusivity. They believe the item is "limited", thus hype ensues within. Or even the way around if you look at it.

Supply and demand is the culprit. Quantities and production numbers is just the easiest place to point the blame.

Very well said..... Couldnt have explained it any better.

I went to Adidas Originals store to grab the 2 Chainz release and there was a line.  About 6 or 7 people in front, some that got there super early.  The shoes are made of a great nubuck material, and are extremely comfortable.  About a .5 size big in case anyone was curious and looking for a pair.

I've worn mine a bunch and am pretty excited for future Adidas collabs now.  Much better quality wise than some GR Jordan's i've bought lately.

Definitely worth the $130.

I didn't even know them guys even had sneakers(Big Sean and 2 Chainz)

Any sneaker release by Adidas is a non-event. Nobody is checking for Adidas sneakers and it's for a good reason.

 your ignorance is showing.

Adidas is irrelevant in sneakers. They make up 5.5% of basketball market share. I know we are talking about rappers here but it's all basically the same when it comes to selling sneakers. I'd speculate that these rappers have even lower sales numbers than basketball players.

The strategy hasn’t worked yet. Adidas’ U.S. market share in basketball was only 5.5% in 2013, according to SportsOneSource. Nike and its Jordan subsidiary had a 92% share last year, while Reebok (1.4%) and Under Armour UA +5.12% (0.7%) fought for the scraps.

Adidas’ other athletes have also struggled to move product. Dwight Howard morphed from one of the NBA’s most marketable players to a pariah with fans during his awkward three teams in three seasons saga. Howard is also hurt by the challenges that big men historically face selling shoes. Adidas sold only $5 million worth of Howard’s signature sneakers in 2013, according to SportsOneSource’s data. John Wall moved from Reebok to its parent, Adidas, last season. Results were less than inspiring for the 2010 No. 1 draft pick. Wall’s retail sales were also only $5 million.

basketball?

man wth are you talking about bro? get outta here with that nonsense. what you're saying has NOTHING to do with the conversation at hand. It's no secret nike runs this basketball thang.

Adidas has soccer on lock (you know, the world's most popular sport) and goes blow for blow with Nike in the lifestyle department.

Y-3 is HUGE. Adidas x Bape sold out on instant. Adidas is HUGE internationally man.

doesn't take a forbes article to figure out that Nike trumps Adidas in the basketball realm.

Someone who knows what they're talking about.

Saying Adidas is irrelevant in sneakers is laughable.

What % market share do they have on soccer?  I mean, it IS the most popular sport on the planet and all.

they pretty much ARE the market share in terms of soccer.

Adidas probably does better overall numbers internationally than Nike.

Not even an adidas head and I know this. Some of ya'll just can't be objective.

Just checked the numbers, adidas made more revenue than nike last year.

about 10 BILLION more.

GO head ya'll keep arguing. Make yourselves look foolish.

nobody checking for adidas right?

Kanye's project with adidas won't sell out right?

his shoe might not even look good right?
