Won't happen this year, but I really like the idea of Gardner batting 1st, then moving Ellsbury to #2.

It would help them both. You have to pitch to Gardner, and you have to pitch to Ellsbury. If both got on, a double by the #3 drives in two.

Jacoby should be batting first. I can't believe no one upstairs and forced Girardi to do so. It's sickening.


This ******* offense can't put up ****. They're not even facing a good pitcher.

They don't force him because of who is betting 2nd.


But Gardner is a capable leadoff as well, he really works the count, and Ellsbury has more pop. Either 9 (Gardner) - 1 (Ellsbury) or 1 (Gardner) - 2 (Ellsbury). The second option makes more sense, but with God Old Ground Into Double Plays batting 2nd, we have no choice.


Should be Gardner - Ellsbury - Beltran. Beltran is the best combination of power & contact we have, yes I know he struggled, but it makes most sense, and move Jeter to 6th.
