Michael Sam Ramifications Not Yet Thought Of

i think this would be EXTREMELY rare. it'd obviously be discouraged like most workplace relationships are, but that usually doesn't stop people. how people handle the issues that arise in a relationship will depend on their maturity at the end of the day. unfortunately, we've seen some boneheaded dudes in pro sports.

Him texting prolly has a little to do with it but even if he told him face to face his pops woulda still felt the same way imo.

gay aint in old school ****** vocabulary

For anyone acting like this is a preposterous notion, there was a NFLN "Football Life" on the former ******** TE who was gay back in the late 60's-70's. He and an RB on the team were in a relationship for awhile. I'm sure it's happened numerous times but I don't foresee it becoming a common problem like CP is talking about

Did DoubleJ's hack your account and make this post?

It was sarcasm, chill with righteous indignation. The players aren't even allowed to fraternize with cheerleaders. and there's still uneasiness about homosexuality in the nfl. People are just going to be professional about things from now on straight and gay alike.
I felt like it may have been sarcasm, but you honestly don't know on here sometimes /shrug

I know it sounds crazy to everyone, but in 5-10-15 years, there will be openly gay couples on a team.

We all know the numbers, there's 1,600+ players, at just 1-2 per team there's likely 100+ in the league.

In time, a scenario will come as I described. How will teams handle that will be VERRRRY interesting.

Didn't open the thread as jokes, but I probably should have known it would go this way.

i personally think Micheal Sam killed his chances of getting drafted
its crazy because its gonna be so blatant dude was an all american

True, but what team wants to deal with that type of distraction?

any team that would deal with the distraction of:

DUI man slaughter
sexual assault
dog fighting
alleged murderers

hmmm...that's about 98% of teams

(yes, that's ripped off from jon stewart  )

You see Donte' Stallworth's comments? Basically gave major props to New England's locker room atmosphere.

word, Champ. makes sense. NE certainly won't go out of their way to get him, but if he's there and fits their plans, they wouldn't hesitate much, if at all. tebowmania was completely bottled up and the memory of hernandez was literally destroyed in NE

He is the 12th rated pass rusher according to ESPN. Strange, because he is an all american from the Sec. I feel sorry for the team that has to deal with the media circus when they draft him. I'm sure he'll be a good player, but like tebow the media will bash us over the head with his image repeatedly to the point we root against him

Wait, are you saying because people are gay they no longer have the ability to be professional?

no...he's saying people in workplace relationships lose the ability to be professional sometimes. the effects of that on a football team could hurt the team. that's his point.
