Zik, what do you not like about Arrow?

Reason I ask is I just went thru 2 seasons in a lil over a month and I love that show. (even the cheesy CW of it all, but I understand that)


Loved the pilot for Flash, will enjoy watching both shows, and hopefully they can connect them here and there without it getting stale or silly.

I think I've posted some of why in a few cb based tv show threads.

Overall I don't like the tone of it, the terrible acting, the story at first with him on the island and the flashbacks were cool but then it just torpedoed, the villains, the cast. Not to repeat myself but it is like a poor poor man's attempt at being the tv version of Batman Begins.

I never did get through the full 1st season, probably like the last 2 eps I didn't watch. Just wasn't for me and too CW if you know what I mean. Perhaps if I had did what you did and binge watched a lot of eps I'd have a slightly different opinion of it or could've given it more of a chance but at this point I just don't have any desire to make this show apart of my list.

I did try to catch some of the premiere tonight but eh it didn't grab me. I'm actually of the opinion right now that they're doing Green Arrow completely wrong. On a related note, sad to see how far Brandon Roth has fallen Not that he ever shows a whole lot of potential and Returns was trash but damn to sink all the way to CW superhero tv show? :x I wouldn't wish that on actors I dislike.

And we're talking about a guest feature. Not the star, not the star, but feature. Fire your agent superman.

I read something somewhere about some of the villains like my boy Wentworth as Captain Cold and then I was reminded why I don't read Flash comics. He has some of the lamest villains or at least lame names for them.

I specifically when I saw Professor Zoom's name. I mean c'mon Nothing strikes fear in your heart like Prof. Zoom.

If they were smart, similar to Arrow, they'd just hijack better DC villains.

Yeah, I think Anti-Flash is the one that killed his moms for w/e reason unless they're gonna make it Jay Garrick and it'll be all an accident.

Another thing is they need to come with more threats where the suspension of disbelief doesn't have to bend too much since we're talking about threats for the fastest man alive. It was a good start with the tornado/wind controlling guy but they have to keep matching that level of difficulty in various ways to keep things interesting. They got a chance though, given all of the DC super villains.

Never really followed Flash but Grodd seems like an interesting character based off Wikipedia. I have faith in Flash especially after how Arrow was handled the first two seasons.

I don't follow the comics so I'm not familiar with the Flash universe, but reading up on the characters it seems like Iris' bf Thawne is based on Flash's arch nemesis Professor Zoom. Which makes sense because conflict is already brewing between them since they're in love with the same girl. But then again, in the flashback to the night Barry's mother got killed, we seem to glimpse Zoom for a quick second which would suggest that Zoom isn't Thawne after all since that happened years ago. Interesting to see how everything plays out.

For those knowledgeable about the comics, is Dr. Wells' character based on anybody?

Co-sign Zik about some those villain's names being OD corny. Professor Zoom?

And the dude who manipulated the weather is known in the comics as Weather Wizard?

All that said, I'm all in on this show.

dr wells is a new character that was created for the show. A bit of a red herring to throw people off as to who prof zoom is. It coukd be thawne. Could be somebody else

Even though not many may care about Flashes rogue gallery of villains, they can get people to care just by watching the show.

Like Dr. Snow, not sure if this is a spoiler but she will likely become Killer Frost. Then the other assistant is going to be Vibe, not a villain but if/when he gets his powers then people would give a damn just because his a regular in the show.


As for Grodd, it is going to be Rise of the Planet of the Apes with Serkis but if they can deliver half the performance or cgi for that, they'll be good.


I might be in the minority but I'm excited to see Ray Palmer, he is supposedly going to suit up in this show and not in Arrow iirc.
