The Flash (CW Series) thread, season 9

I think the main duos contract is up after next season but it seems like they'll churn 'em out as long as those two are willing to do the show. Ratings are probably decent enough and the budget isn't that big so they can just keep making them forever.

Didn't know they cancelled "the 100". I dunno how supernatural is still on. Sure they have a lot of fans and it's popular but they don't have any story left to tell.

yeah - how is supernatural still on?!?!

Shoulda ended the series after season 5. what season are they on now, like 17?

They ran out of people to fight. They fought demons, angels, the devil, knights of hell, whatever the hell leviathans are. This season they were fighting descendants of doctor frankenstein. They've both died or nearly died a few times already.

This. Once I caught a glimpse of season 6 I was like naw. Same with Smallville. CW can't help the drudgery.

I don't get why the CW is pushing Captain Cold so hard and now as a hero. I can get wanting to use Purcell and Miller but then make them characters that can justify that.

I can't make sense of Barry just getting screwed over in this past ep by Cold and then calling him to join a group with a bunch of other heroes to save the world  Hope every ep is him screwing these guys over and by the end he has all of the Atom's and Arrow's money.

Them calling him the blur just aggravated me. Sounded so stupid. I was stupid enough to watch it for 10 seasons. Even lana and lex didn't want to stick around for it to end.
No. Specifically the "Red-blue Blur" was the dumbest thing I heard of. It's literally just Clark in his red jacket and blue shirt running fast.
But still, the other two are speedsters and a dude engulfed in flames. Those are distracting enough to deal with. Again, it is dumb if he was looking straight on and saw the arrow coming and still simply did not dodge it, but he wasn't looking while dealing with a dude who can run almost as fast as him and another that shoots out fire, dude with an arrow is probably going to be the least of my concern too especially if I didn't know dudes gon' inject me with nano-bots that nullifies my power.

Again I am just saying it is plausible and not too dumb to get hit by an arrow to your back.
Thawne being dropped by those 3 is comical and really doesn't have an excuse. RF has specifically been hyped up and proved to show he's not just faster than Barry but more experienced. He completely outclasses him. A guy engulfed in flames and some other dude that isn't even faster than you should not be distractions.
But I despise Captain Cold, Heatwave and the Atom :smh:

I dont see this show being good for 22 episodes. Im confused to why are they even making it?

I know Flash and Arrow are doing good numbers on CW but a team up show? Really?

I hate those 3 characters as well. So I guess flash and arrow will be busy most of the time so this team needs to deal with savage the most. cw will probably try to develop 2 other dc character shows so they can have one monday through friday.

If they were smart the JL (the less popular members) would each have their own shows.
Aquaman/mondays
Flash/tuesdays
Arrow/wednesdays
Hawkgirl/thursdays
Manhunter(detective show)/fridays

Instead they went with whatever crap that is up there
There's a lot better DC heroes they can use than that.

If I was them I'd really switch it up and use a Wildstorm character but it is the CW so meh.

I said the same thing like you really debut that trailer a few days of him getting betrayed. Like so what future guy tells me Cold is a Legend and a good guy, that guy just screwed me! No way I'm helping him. :smh:

Please don't tell me this latest episode was the season finale..

At first I thought Reverse flash caught Oliver's arrow but son actually got hit by it..

Cold backstabbing Barry and still make the cut for Legend of tomorrow..

To be fair it's not like Reverse Flash was standing straight up and staring at Oliver as he shoots the arrow towards him and he doesn't dodge it. I think the last shot was from behind too, it's not like Flash has super senses.

With that said, I did say the whole fight was dumb and anti-climactic and was practically a throwaway, just saying getting shot by an arrow unaware in the back is not the stupidest or most ridiculous thing to happen in the show, it's actually plausible.
Arrows only travel up around 200 MPH.

Barry was able to catch a bullet he was unaware of fighting that teleport chick about 10 episodes ago.

Bullets travel near the speed of sound (depending on ammo type and gun used).

Barry can catch bullets he's unaware of yet Wells, who is multiple times over faster than Barry, cant catch a damn arrow? Not plausible, just horrible writing for these pointless crossovers.

You guys are going to have to accept a certain level of PIS (plot induced stupidity) in order to enjoy this show. Writing for someone with Barry's powerset will always be hard. If he's able to perceive and react so quickly he should never be surprised. Wells even more so.

I think he didn't even react to the bullet until it touched his suit. That was extremely impressive. Reacting to lighting a couple eps later was too.

On the next episode of flash, Barry dodges everything, catches everyone the first time, except for the reverse flash who he ends up in an endless chase with. Should be interesting.

It doesn't matter if he isn't looking. God it's like you guys just want to sh*t on something so bad you ignore the fact that dude didn't see the arrow so he got hit with it.

So what if Barry caught a bullet without seeing it (though I think he did see it) but that was a different situation and you already know the show is full of inconsistencies (I think Barry heard the gun go off though and he was less distracted while I think a bow and arrow is likely quieter and RF was distracted).

I mean I am not going to go back and forth for several pages on this but if you can't even accept being hit by an arrow when your back is turned (as if super speed is suppose to give you super senses like Spiderman) all while fighting another speedster and dude that is on fire then I really do not know what else to tell you.

And it is also possible to let some things go. Everyone already sh*tting on the terrible fight and episode, it really shouldn't be the issue people are having with when the episode alone were full of stupidity.

Guys can literally go back in time by simply running....... *omg, so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*

Guy gets hit in the back by an arrow he didn't see coming........*omg, such stupid *** writing!!!!!!!*

Highly unfair that on Flash the Arrow comes in and steals Flash's thunder during the big Wells fight and on Arrow, Barry shows up for the first five minutes and bounces

"The city is about to be under attack by biological warfare."

Flash: "Uhh.. I need to do a rain check. I got to talk with Wells. But uhh, I think Oliver got it."

:smh:

That's an excellent point. I thought it was weird Barry couldn't help with something like that too. I mean, it takes him 9 seconds to run around the entire city.

But he had to go talk to someone, who's already locked up?

He needs to save his mom!

I guess we can wait until the finale but don't get your hopes up.

I do hope the finale delivers though after an underwhelming Arrow finale.

While I've enjoyed the quick pace of the show and its reveals each week, I have a feeling the finale is going to end up with some kind of time reboot (aka flashpoint paradox) in order to set the groundwork for next season.  This is suggested in the preview for the finale, where you see Barry going back in time and talking to his mom before she dies.  Otherwise, I don't see how they can maintain next season without Wells as a frequent recurring character, whose interaction with the Star labs team is what made the show entertaining.
