NIKE AIR MAG 2015

For Nike to do anything but a mass GR is just totally dumb. Everyone wants these shoes. It has nothing to do with being a sneaker head or owning a bunch of other Nikes. People who don't even wear sneakers and laugh at us in or over priced running/hoop/cross training shoes will want these.  2 main reasons....

1) The loyal fans of this trilogy will be crazy for anything (especially something official) that has to do with that second movie.

2) Many people (myself included) feel that we should be far more advanced than we actually are at this point (and it probably has a lot to do with this movie and others like it). We already have the TVs and the picture frames, but other than that, that flick left us in the dust. I'm not saying that I expect flying cars and hover boards, but we marvel too much over our phones. Out side of that, we haven't advanced that much since 1990. Kids are still wanting shoes that I've had since 95'. Makes me feel like we're in the stone age. C'mon, Nike!!!!!

So why limit it, or auction the release? They can charge whatever the hell they want for the shoes as a GR anyway. I was already guessing 700$+ range anyway (for people saying "no one will pay that." Just shut up. Somehow you missed the last decade or so). If they can get 250+ tax for kicks that came out '98, they can do whatever they want at this point. THIS WOULDN'T BE A HARDCORE SNEAKER FAN RELEASE ANYWAY. Some of those Speilberg movie fan boys will put the goons and hypebeast to shame on this one. Have you ever seen these Stars Wars and other sci-fi movie conventions? These dudes are crazy for real......

The only time I would wear these shoes is to try them on and geek out at how cool the auto-lacing is, cant see myself wearing them out.  Every other shoe I have ever bought I have worn, or am planning to wear, but these would be a collection piece for me.

This is the ultimate throw back to my time as a kid, would be a shame if I miss out because Nike goes the limited route.

We haven't changed much since 1985 because retro sneakers are hot? How does that make any sense?

power lacing could be cool and the actual shoes ultra hyped, but they're AWFUL to me, can't see me wearing these apart of in a movie....

I would wear these every damn day of the week. now, if I can't walk into a store a grab these I'm good. Maybe 10 years ago I would bite the bullet but now, naw.

As long as the shoe is actually wearable it's on but for the love of McFly don't make another goddamn prop

I always saw this shoe as a collection piece
Only time they pop up is at sneaker events

would be cool if they updated the air mags into a more wearable shoe model ala AF1 but with a self-lacing system.

Not to mention the mark up of $15 to make shoes vs a fine tuned performance vehicle almost hand crafted

Analogy is weak…

Owning a ferrari is a status of your current wealth. Anyone can get a pair of Nikes.

Anyone can get a Ferrari if they have the cheddar. Air Mags are the same. Easy to come by, but you need to have 7G of disposable income to blow on shoes.

Air Mags are a status symbol in the exact same way.

Browsing Youtube and I found this.

IGN a station that reports on games is talking about the Air Mags.

2015 is going to be interesting, I hope Nike does auction these off though.

I'm not trying to give some 2 bit reseller who tries to make 50 dollars on GR Jordans every weekend any of my money.

At least with an auction I know that the money will be used to help fund research to cure a disease.

I hope Nike does another auction for the Air Mags in 2015, I don't want to pay these 2 bit resellers who try to flip the hot release of the weekend for 50 dollars.

I don't want to deal with ATC's and people holding these in carts asking people for OOP's for 1K+ simply because their bot added to cart.

I don't want to deal with Nike servers, the site crashing, check out issues, waiting in line for 2+ hours just to add to cart.

This is a big boy shoe, let the people with real money throw it towards a good cause (actually donating towards a charity for parkinson's disease) and be rewarded.

I'm tired of seeing people flip DB's just because its "Easy Money", and couldn't careless about anything other then the flip on resell.

I'm tired of the games, just auction it off and let the money fly.

why does everyone think it will be as limited as the first release?

in my opinion its going to be a much wider release..the fact that there was any type of statement from tinker at all about it. the fact that he said it to the public..

also this shoe isn't a half a** model like the last one..this is the real deal power laces..the FACT that patent papers are out to public describing how it works even shows..this is going to be big.

(^ you guys should read its really cool description of the power lace motor under the sole that spins the laces tight)

i think nike will go kinda big with these to the public..it only makes sense..

they will go for a pretty penny $6-800 and then if you aren't prepared on the day they release then your out of luck

So many speculations, not enough FACTS!

Or should I say so many speculations that people are trying to pass off as facts.

THIS x infinity...this thread is definitely going to get out of hand periodically. And the blogs are all going to contribute to the nonsense. As a few of us stated earlier, unless it comes direct from NIKE in the form of a press release, Tweet, whatever...no need to put any stock in it.

Every single patent is public. They are public records...

These will be for the 1% that can afford to pony up for them. Embrace that now and you won't be so salty come October. Nike will not retail a shoe for $800 that they once auctioned off for several thousand.

So these won't retail for under $800 because Nike auctioned prop versions of this shoe 4 years ago to raise money for the Michael J. Fox foundation...................... sounds like facts to me.

So basically for this release "I'm actually a fan of the trilogy" is gonna be the equivalent of "I actually watched MJ ball in these, so I deserve them more" in the Jordan threads
