If these released like normal releases most people still wouldn't be able to ultimately afford them in the resell market. All nike is doing is getting rid of the middle man and adding in a great cause.

Let's be honest, most people that would have gotten them through a normal release would have bought them to sell.

If only the Adidas Tmac 4's lacing system had some sort of automated lacing system as opposed to the mechanical one they came with, and Adidas beat Nike to power laces ?

The same could be said about 2011, and yet there was plenty of demand.
 
I understand it's going to charity but it's going to feed the greymarket monster heavy as well.

Most people can't or won't be able to afford or get these. And if they are able to are you really going to wear a pair of shoes you spent $5k+ on?

Heck they can likely do gm pairs with the autolacing.

Depending on the functionality of the shoes they could be pretty hard to create correctly. Having something that tightens and can sense exactly HOW tight it is before the straps stop pulling in can be a very difficult thing to do. Especially in that limited amount of space.

Making robot arms to pick up one specific sized cup is VERY easy. Making a robot arm to pick up a multitude of cups varying in shape, size, material, is much more complex.
