Why are the Jordan 11's the most popular out of all the Jordan shoe models? they get the most fakes

Out of all the Air Jordan shoe models, why are the 11's the most damn popular, the most crazily sought after Jordans? Just asking because was reading a lot of articles and video clips on YouTube showing footage of the riots, fights whenever the Jordan 11's get released around Christmas time every year, swarms and crowds of people rushing into the mall and ripping the doors of the hinges, the people are like a swarm of honey-starved bee's just for those Jordans, and I read there was a fatal shooting incident in Houston Texas in which a man was robbed of his newly purchased Bred 11's.

Also at the same time the Jordan 11's get the most fakes, counterfeits produced as well, that would also explain that they are the most popular Jordan models as well.

SO SERIOUSLY, WHY ARE THE JORDAN 11'S SO GOD DAMN POPULAR, SO POPULAR THAT THEY LEAD TO THESE KIND OF ACTS!?!?!?!?, sorry, it's just it kinda anagers me and frustrates me that people have to go this crazy over a pair of shoes. Overall, what makes the Jordan 11's stand out compared to the other Jordan shoe models in which that makes them the most popular?

yeah but it's crazy how people go that far to committ those kind of acts just to get their hands on them
 
I've never really understood it either. I like the 11s but they are a fair bit down the list of my fave Jordans. Maybe its hype, maybe it was the peak of Jordan's popularity, maybe its just the design most people like. But the shootings, riots, fights have got to stop. Its plain ******* embarrassing. If only JB would kill the re-sell game.
 
Jordan 11's, 12's and 13's are favorite Jordan's of all time, and it's because of the design of those three models

I think that the 11's get pumped up a lot not sure why even in 2000 with the concords and space jams fights broke out in my city, even gamma's got a lot of love and I think they are ugly

U gotta be atleast 30+ to understand. I was 12 and had plenty of as a youngsta, but when them bred 11s drop the shoe game was over! There will never be another shoe with as much respect as the OG 11s.
 
Seriously? All that research on the retro aftermath and no time researching the origins? I personally never cared for em due to thr patent leather (concords mostly) but i was 20, 21 when they dropped. Up till then the Jordan line was stale and he had been retired. Came back and lit it up. 72-10 is right. A title, mvp im sure. U name it. Easily his all around peak time period. Jordans pretty much stunk after the fact too.

i can tell by your post that you weren't alive or too young to remember....but simply put they were ahead of its time when they first released...there was nothing that looked similar to the OG 11s...
 
Jordan 11 is one of the most popular models because it is one of the most well known by the general public. This is due to Jordan's huge comeback & championship win in 1996 and the movie Space Jam. Michael Jordan was everywhere in 96, and he was wearing the 11s all the time.

Also from a design standpoint, it is one of the best executed Jordan models in the entire line. Extremely futuristic, They looked like no other shoe out there at the time back in 1996, and that still holds true today. They are even making the Jordan Future based off of the 11 because of this. There still aren't very many (if any) shoes out there like the Jordan XI.

The 11s really do have the most mass appeal out of any Jordan model. Every year, people who aren't in the sneaker game at all try to cop the 11s, just because they're the 11s.

You can never go wrong with a Jordan XI imo.

Jordan's personal favorite are the 3 and 13 tho.

and if you noticed. Mj wore the aj 11 very often.
3 games in 1995 playoffs, the whole preseason, season, playoffs/finals of 1995/1996, and several games in 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 season (coolgreys). Mj played in the MSG in the coolgreys and scored 39 pts but his wizards lost the game.

but imo, the 11 are over hyped since the 2011 concord retro.
makes me not like them thar much anymore.
 
When they first dropped, it was a game changer. No other shoe was like it and it was dope. However i recall them being fairly easy to obtain. Now, it's more about hype and resell value.

Just turned 26 last month, but ya its mainly i can't stand the riots and violence, shootings that occur over these Jordans

I'm old and I purchased every OG 11 mostly because of my MJ fandom. However when they originally released they were widely thought of as too shiny and flashy and very weird. A lot like how the newer models are received today. They were widely produced easy to get and sat on shelves for a loong time. To be honest I'm not sure where the Hype started but even retros in 2001 were easy to get.
