'01 True Blue 3's slight cracking/crumbling :(

so i just put on these '01 tb's i got about a week ago and after walking around my house for 5 minutes, i noticed some small cracking around the air unit on the inner side of the left shoe...right now its small, but i know if i wear these they'll get worse. is there any way i can nip this in the bud early and prevent more damage while keeping these wearable? or should i just sell them and move on?

edit: ****. completely forgot about the care/maintenance thread.

edit: got pics! someone PLEASE tell me theres a way i can wear these without having to soleswap...im open to legit ANY other method of fixing these.
