WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Him crying in every movie. Didnt care for that.

IDGAF about this "men should be able to talk about their feelings" movement. No you shouldnt and men shouldnt cry.

Emo Peter was awful. Don't care what anyone says. That's unforgivable. 10x worse than Max Dillon.

The problem with Spider-Man and starting over is that weve seen 2 reboots both with sequels in less than 12 years...don't nobody want to see an origin Spider-Man movie ever again...is enough...we know how Pete got his powers and that Osbourne is his best friend and worst enemy....at this point hand the rights over to Marvel, come to an agreement where they share rights, call back Tobey and just throw him in the mix as sub-avenger like he is in the comics....everyone already knows who Spidey is.

Btw seasoned Tobey will fit perfectly as Spidey in with the rest of the Avengers IMO...YA blaming Tobey for the emo-centric Raimi universe...YA gotta remember he's just the actor...He didn't write the script.

Garfield didn't write the script he got either

Only reboot I see succeeding is when Marvel has complete control of Spider-Man and he's firmly in the MCU.

You have a point..

So basically, if Sony retains Spidey it doesn't really matter what they do or who plays Spidey

Keep Garfield on, and they're just working with a disgruntled employee and a universe that people hate

Recast Tobey, and they're just spinning their wheels and going back to a well until that runs dry

And if they develop balls and nuke everything, they might just end up with a franchise worse than ASM.

Just depressing.

^^^Acting wise both dudes Garfield and Toby are fine.

They both just have the bad luck of being associated with universes that don't fit well with the MCU.

If Sony never relinquishes the rights, then I guess it doesn't matter which actor plays Spidey. Sony will dry up the Spidey well either way, sooner or later.

But if Marvel gets the rights, they should just start over from scratch with a new actor. I really don't think it'd be that hard to find a third actor capable of being a great Spidey that people will love.

When I think about it more even with me not liking the quality of ASM movies story wise it sucks that Sony basically had this problem with Garfield and now he's out.

At the very least I still wanted to see what they could do with a solo female movie, Venom movie, S6 movie or w/e even after seeing all of those emails that gave little hope and reading those ridiculous rumors simply cuz it'd all be anchored by the ASM Spidey. If they're even thinking of rebooting on the fly I can't help but think it'll effect these spinoffs.

Naw, pretending asm never happened is the best bet. The whole thing is a jumbled mess either way but what can they do?

Garfield was very game for Spiderman. My only real issue with him was that he was a little too cool as Peter.

Toby was a little too geeky. Somewhere in between you'd have the best Peter.

Someone on here mentioned Logan Lerman. IF Sony keeps the rights and decides to go with a high school Pete again, be might be a good choice. I've seen him do cocky (Percy Jackson) and I've seen him do shy (Perks of Being a Wallflower)

Marvels president's thought on ASM2.

In an email from 2012, Marvel President Alan Fine explains to Tom Cohen (Marvel's VP of Production who acts as an intermediary between them and Sony) all of the problems with The Amazing Spider-Man 2. "I wanted to burn the draft after I read it, never mind thinking about buying the DVD."

Rumors about Ant-Man

"According to StarLog, Hank Pym will not only come across Howard Stark and Peggy Carter in the 60s flashback scenes. Supposedly he will also encounter 'a young military hot-head by the name of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross', who was played by William Hurt in 2008's The Incredible Hulk. But that's not all. The article goes on to establish that The Avengers: Age of Ultron will kick-start the events that lead to Civil War, but also that General Ross will be working alongside Stark during the event - which isn't too hard to imagine given his stance on the Hulk. Apparently Hank Pym will be approached by the General in Ant-Man's post credits scene, to recruit him to their effort to register all superheroes with the Government. The article also reveals that Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow will be imprisoned during the movie, which they go on to speculate will lead to Scott Lang breaking her out using the Ant-Man suit."

Lol. I'm not surprised by a single thing in this post.

Ant Man having to break Black Widow out. I can dig it.

Black Widow the ultimate free agent. Not tied down to a solo film but making cameos in every else's films.

No casting announcements this week. I'm shocked.

Was sure Marvel would follow up DC's announcement with one of their own

Having General Ross back and having him side with Stark makes me wonder if those rumors about World War Hulk were true years ago...I can see Ross, Tony, Pym and the Government pushing Hulk out instead of the Marvel Illuminati...

But where is lamekilla to make sense of this? ASM2 is a masterpiece is it not? How much higher up the hierarchy of Marvel do we need to go?

It's holiday season. Movie and comic news tends not to break around this time even though you could argue it is the perfect time too. Expect something in the middle of Jan.
