As far as advancing the MCU story it:
--established that Tony has PTS and issues with being a hero in the mix of action which plays a part in AOU (remember the ending?)
--established that Tony can remote control his suits (huge for AOU)
--established AIM which opens new story lines moving forward http://marvel.com/universe/A.I.M.


After the initial disappointment about The Mandarin wore off, I went back and rewatched it and it isn't a bad movie at all.

I'm starting to see each movie as an episode rather than a stand alone and that gives me more appreciation for the MCU movies.

only if everyone would do this and stop being so damn critical about it....

I have said IM 3 is not bad but not good. IM 2 is the worst tho. But most would disagree. Me and my brother just shrugged and said "meh" when we came out the theatre. But I havent had any interest in rewatching it.

I could forgive the other flaws if it wasnt for the stupid Mandarin twist.

The mysterious extraterrestrial arc in agents of shield seems completely unrelated to age of ultron

Maybe related to the next movie arc after Avengers 2?
