WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Does anyone else think the comic book movie bubble could burst?
I mean were getting too many movies & shows now, will people get tired of them. Is it just a trend?
Were talking over saturating the market now
I have this fear for the last couple years

if their stories are good then I wouldn't be worried.

Im not saying theyre gonna die out. Im just saying the ticket sales down the road might not be as impressive as they have been. Causing the studios to either stop making them or drastically cut back the budgets
Casual fans could get tired of too many comic book movies on a yearly basis

It's possible, any genre gets stale after a while if new ideas and great stories are not being told. But like everything in entertainment, it's cyclical. Right now just happens to be the time when the special effects are up to par to make these movies look interesting and the interest is there to generate the revenue that justifies the budgets these types of movies are receiving.

Not to play captain save-a-Marvel, but what Marvel (MCU) did that built up the fan base outside of the typical sci-fi/superhero crowd was create a single universe that appealed to people's desire to have serialized entertainment. Connecting things seems obvious in hindsight, but it was a novel approach to storytelling in movies that are not sequels. People's desire to see a story to its end is putting butts in seats. Marvel has also gone into overdrive to capture young viewers by making their cartoons, games and merchandise all tie into a shared universe. People have been begging for that kind cohesiveness for a long time from other franchises and for some dumb reason, these other studios didn't deliver. Lucas dropped the ball big time. I don't know if he got bored or what, but what Disney is about to do with the Star Wars universe is something fans have been BEGGING for. Why deny the addict their fix? They are doing spin offs of great characters because they know what the fans crave... Brawndo!

I think Marvel also saw how to incrementally improve stories and not dump it's load all at the outset. I think story telling will improve as time goes on. I don't think it was completely intentional at first to have average story telling, but I think the above average story telling that will lead to an epic saga IS very intentional. Unlike some other studios, Marvel has learned from its mistakes and kept pushing instead of rebooting and trying again. Not a shot, but it's obvious that DC/Warner doesn't quite get it. Fans are extremely forgiving if you step your game up the next go round. Look at how many people continued to come out to give the Hulk, Iron Man and Spider-Man second and third chances. IM2 sucked ****. Let's keep it real. But somehow, IM3 crossed the billi mark. The interest is there.

Kevin Feige On Hulk:

[Hulk] is going to appear in many of the movies announced today. Part of the fun of Avengers: Age of Ultron was saying, ‘you’ve seen another Iron Man adventure, you see another Thor adventure and another Cap adventure, but we haven’t seen the Green Goliath again. So that was important in the characters you haven’t seen – Hulk being one of them and Hawkeye being one of them – Ultron will make up for it.

On Black Widow:

Black Widow couldn't be more important as an Avenger, but like Hulk the Avengers films will be the films where they play a primary role. [Her role] is very, very big and further develops her character. The plans we have for her through the rest of the Avengers saga are very big and she is a linchpin. So instead of taking her out there or doing a prequel which we haven’t done yet, we’re continuing the forward momentum of the continuity of the Cinematic Universe, of which Widow is a key part.

A Hulk solo has to come in Phase 4. Has to. Like it really has to. He doesn't need a trilogy, but with the improved visual effects, and with Marvel learning from their previous efforts, he deserves another story. TIH was meh for me. Ole girl who played Betty annoyed the hell out of me

I think Marvel having solo films be more consequential and tied into a clearer version of an over arching story, whether it be Civil War or Thanos will stop the bubble burst for a while..

But they have made it incredibly hard for anyone else starting a new Cinematic Universe..

Nowadays one bad film makes **** collapse onto itself for the new guys

I am not happy with the Doctor Strange director choice.

I wonder who the writer will be...
I know the writer for Sinister is a huge comic book fan and Derrickson has worked with him before. Hmmmmm...
the writer the Jon Spaihts i
Big Sci-Fi hollywood writer.. he wrote the OG promethus script

http://variety.com/2014/film/news/jon-spaihts-writing-marvel-doctor-strange-1201223405/

he's a good writer but dudes usually use him for drafts and then completely rewrite this stuff

No, my question, how can you fit all those people into two movies

The Infinity War movies are going to be Lord of the Rings status with the scale and length

All those people can fit no problem. There doesn't need to be MUCH character development in a film like this. Just a lot of tension. I want to see them all in a room or an area though suited up.

I will bet any amount of money that the total amount of screen time for the AoS and Defenders characters will be 15 mins between all of them anyway. They are just saying those guys will be in the MCU before Infinity wars, not that they will be in IW

15 minutes is cool. Other than the ones listed under other possible heroes and cosmic, I expect most of those characters to be in there. They have to be.

they showed the scene with Thor's Hammer?

Yeah man..

All of them were partying and whatnot and Thor put his hammer down on the table and a few of them were tryin to lift it but were unable to..then goes into the Ultron part which was is classic already :pimp:
