WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

I've read and heard that people want Thor to die and replace him with the female thor in the comics. I better not see a live action Thor with boobs any time soon. Unless they belong to Kat Dennings.

About inhumans, I was reading that the way Marvel is going to get around not being able to use mutants is to make inhumans the new mutants?

There's supposed to be some kinda extraterrestrial bomb that make random people everywhere on earth like the inhumans who made it?

Someone mentioned Katheryn Winnick the chick from Vikiings to play Carol. Sounds interesting
That would be cool.

She's great. That show is great.

That's been everybody's assumption since the X-Men rights being with FOX was clarified. Since like Avengers it's been talk that Feige wants to make use of Inhumans and everybody is like they're replacing mutants.

I think Marvel studios just wants an ip where they can have a group of ppl already born this way so as not to have a bunch of constantly different/other/new origins of their super powers. Saying they're inhuman is just better.

Inhumans aren't anything like mutants really so I expect the stories about them to be vastly different for the most part. Starting with Black Bolt and Medusa as king and queen. If anything they're more similar to Wakanda the way they're a isolationist kingdom to the point they've been a secret for centuries.
Hancock with will smith made more than Amazing Spiderman 2
Wow

I always did like that movie but didn't think it was THAT good. Will still has that box office power I guess.

I honestly think Slott might be talking about the comic... seeing as he writes Spidey but who knows.

Yeah I'm thinkin it has something to do with Spider-Verse

Jesse Eisenberg for Black Bolt!

I remember after it came out talk of a sequel and that Will was down for it but then not much else but yeah it definitely felt like the perception was Hancock failed.

Maybe it swept up in DVD sales and globally.

It could be like the recent event that happened where Attlian fell from the sky and the Terrigan Mist was release and anyone with inhuman dna received powers. Like people who great great great great grandparents that were Inhumans was getting powers.

To be fair, this is a bit misleading.

Hancock made more then ASM2 in domestic box office ($227m vs $202m). But worldwide, ASM2 beat it by about $80m ($708m vs $624m).

Also, domestic numbers were much stronger back then, today it is all about international box office. Only GotG has passed the $300m mark this year so far (I think Hunger Games and Hobbit 3 will follow suit).

Granted not many gets to $300m but a lot of films back then were closer to it and those that passes the $300m mark does it by a big mark. iirc TDK made $533m in the US and Avatar was at some ridiculous $700m+.

Domestic numbers have been down the past few years for sure.

I'll make this quick

Long time lurker since Dec. '99.

Alright, with that outta the way. I'm just gonna throw this out there...

...Teresa Palmer for Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel.

Americans just don't like to go to the movies anymore, lol

Cheap bastards

Plus it's too damn easy to download films these days. Expandables 3 probably lost a few millions off the box office because an HD version of the film leaked a few weeks before it's release.

that movie was pure **** tho

They were all bad but the purpose of the film was just the testosterone filled machismo movie ode to the old times. It wasn't meant to be a great film. Just enjoy the massive killing.

First one doubled it's budget, second one tripled it. Third one made as much as the first one but the budget was probably bigger so it could have used as much penny that they could get. They even made it PG13 though that might have backfired instead.

I also think more people are willing to wait for things to come to blu ray

With blu rays, streaming

Hdtvs

Sound bars, other speakers

Ridiculously easy to have a nice movie setup at home

If I turn my sound bar up to even half its capacity, it feels like I'm at the theaters lol

Cheap considering the fact that everyone has upgraded tv's in the past decade and has a more comfortable setup at the house

Zik stop. This is Hollywood. Like I mentioned EVERYONE knows who Wonder Woman is more so than any female character in the Marvel Universe and DC got someone with sex appeal first, acting range second. Gadot's looks are subjective but bottom line she's a supermodel more so than an actress. For me to spew DC vitriol any chance I get believe me when I tell you that there moves haven't been stellar but marvel is watching. This is Marvel's first Superhero outing with a female lead. Best believe it will be drawing comparisons to the Wonder Woman film and it's already at a disadvantage because outside me, you and some regulars in this thread who could tell you who Ms. Marvel was without the help of an EMH animated series? My mom knows who Wonder Woman is though and like the rest of the casual audiences the familiarity will draw them in. Marvel is about to take another guardians of the galaxy-esque chance on a galactic superhero film with a female lead that no one has heard of. There isn't a talking raccoon to deliver quips and sell toys this time around. So besides the MCU connection, do you know what's gonna drive casual movie goers to come see a female lead super hero film that no one has heard of outside comic circles? Yeah, I'll let you figure this one out....

Seems like we found the problem

Lame, this thread would just not be the same without you.

You're seriously suggesting we mimic DC's casting choices?

He's my favorite on here
I see NT is on it's "He-Man Women Haters club" tip today. :rolleyes
:smh:

Nah. You just have to give me a REAL GOOD reason to give up being able pause, rewind, and freeze frame my HDTV, in the comfort of my bed/couch, as I please. If you think I am going to drive to a multiplex for plotline rehashes and Transformers you are sadly mistaken  I have every movie in the world a download away and I can spark blunt after blunt while I watch youtube.

^^^Bryan Cranston as Skye's father in AoS instead of whoever they got playing him would've been dope.

Man has got too big for TV though.
