WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Was listening to a pod about the summer movies and still kind of crazy we aren't getting any Marvel movies either this month or next when April/May have been big release months for them in the past. I know the strike obviously delayed things but still. Was just looking and it appears 2020 was the last year (for obvious reasons) they didn't have a release in April/May since Iron Man 2 in 10'.
Uhh… Deadpool and Wolverine doesn’t release this year??

Well not til July. Outside of 2020 and 21' they have released a movie in April or May every year since 2010. They generally use late spring to set the tone but Thunderbolts is currently slated for May 25'. Even Iron released in May of 2008. So they've only missed 3 April/Mays in 15 years.

Disney is doing this on purpose to reset everything, the last movies havent performed well, so they are doing a soft-reboot of their releases, instead of focusing on 2nd rate characters, the focus is on the main stars from now on. If they could, im sure they would like to do away with Captain America 4 and Thunderbolts, but heyre too deep into filming, contracts, etc...

They are banking on DP x Wolverine to shoot Disney/Marvel back to the top, which it probably will, then go from there. Basically everything after Endgame except for the Spider-Man films will be an after thought once DP/Wolvie comes out. Thats what they want.
