WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

How is not wanting someone to tamper with the work that you put your name on egotistical?

If the movie turns out to be trash because of someone else's changes, then you get blamed for it, not the studio. Your career could end and the studio will simply move on.

In an ideal world, Gunn and Whedon and the Russos could put egos and money aside and work together for the IW movies, given the expected scale of it and the large cast.

They all have their different strengths.

Whedon, the script, with Gunn and the Russos being able to vote out scenes if it becomes too Whedon-y

Gunn, cgi, visuals, along that realm

Russos, choreography and the major action pieces.

That would be awesome. Obviously, not an ideal world and not a realistic scenario.

Just speaking out my dreams lol
That wouldn't be a good idea at all ideal world/realistic scenario or not. No offense.

Directing by committee is a recipe for disaster if you want a cohesive film. I mean you're kinda just hoping all of each director's best abilities would be merged in to one and the rest or any negatives wouldn't play in to it. You'd be better off wishing for one director that somehow had all those skills to begin with  Not to mention you'd need somebody in charge of them just to get **** done. Voting or vetoing wouldn't be enough. This isn't like a tv show or one of the movies with a bunch of vignettes.

I don't think Whedon really cares about making MCU movies as much as most people do. He's a writer/director too so he's probably all marvel'd out after working on Avengers for about 5 years straight. I wouldn't be surprised if he does much smaller scale movies for his next couple of projects (stay the hell away from Star Wars though!).

Meanwhile, the Russo's are probably just happy they're being put on like this. They came from directing TV and Owen Wilson movies

Whedon's always been the smaller scale director. Hell there was a time he was more tv writer than movie director. It's just that Avengers was a dream that he wanted to do. Now we all knew it was going to be a blockbuster but not as much as it was and I'm sure even he couldn't predict the scale in which it grew too. It's pretty much only that franchise that makes him look like a blockbuster type director.

He's actually has done smaller stuff in between the Avengers movies and he will no doubt continue.

Rumors are going around so for your sake you better hope it doesn't go through...
If he becomes a SW director for any movie spinoff or w/e his complaints about doing Avengers for so many years and all the hard work would be lies.

Them cats running SW run an even tighter ship since they're sort of doing a reboot.
Bryan singer was probably begging to be on hand lol
 Ayo!

The Russo brothers are always on point with chemistry and dialogue, this is just facts. They know how to play develop the roles of characters and make em thrive, even with menial parts.

My biggest concern isn't with everyone have a part, my biggest concern is how are you gonna have flesh humans fighting people that can withstand space, cosmic blasts and superhuman strength. I mean Nebula could body half of the Avengers roster without breaking a sweat.

The Russo brothers' responsibility are primarily directing. Russos have yet to write a script for Marvel. Dudes who wrote Cap 2 are Christopher Markus and Stephen Mcfreely; they're the same dudes who wrote for Thor 2 and Cap 1, and the same ones who will be writing for IW.

My apprehension is more so on the fact that Spiderman has yet to be cast and filming has been going on for damn near 2 months. I don't need the gawd superhero's role limited >:

Yea true, hard to be optimistic about any extended role at this point. 4 months of filming left, I'm guessing?

Or maybe we're still good and all the NY scenes are at the back end of production

Now that I think about it, I remember when ppl were flat out saying Butterfield had the role and it was all but confirmed.

Yea, I'm a little confused now
Pretty clear it was just a rumor and certain ppl ran with it like it was official.

Same thing when that one actor was confirmed as Dr. Strange. I forget who and then it wasn't talked about, who was rumored as Strange changed, and at one point I think somebody had to actually say nobody was cast as Strange yet. Then Feige just sneaked in the Cumberbatch announcement after announcing Boseman as BP.

While some of the hacked e-mails had some of the ppl higher ups talking with each other about the new Spidey debuting in Civil War was it ever actually confirmed by Marvel after the announcement that the new Spidey would in fact be in CW? :nerd:

^^ I thought Feige confirmed it. I mean what was the purpose of even doing a civil war film if spiderman wasn't involved in someway. That story had more impact on spiderman than anyone else.

To do a dope superhero movie where they fight each other over an issue that can lean on what's topical. The story had WAY more impact on Iron Man and Captain America last I checked. IM became head of SHIELD and that led to Dark Reign and Cap "died" being replaced by Bucky for like 4 years or w/e. Not to mention half of the Avengers had to go on the run and operate halfway in secret while being hounded by SHIELD Avengers and goons.

Not to glorify using Spidey  If they wanted to do a movie that impacted him they'd do Secret Wars.

As soon as CW starting filming and there was no official word yet on who was playing Spider-Man, it should have been pretty obvious Spidey has lil to no role in the movie

You don't just cast a big role while filming starts, that usually leads to disaster

Let Cap and IM flourish

They have, for 7 years now lol
Eh, it's really been IM show for most of the time and he dipped with IM3. Now Cap is rising after TWS.

IM has been at the core of all this driving the entire MCU to most of it's success. I think the changing of the guard will come after IW. Then GotG will flourish more in the forefront with Strange, Cap Marvel, BP, and whoever else backing them up as the look and hope for the next breakout hero.
