WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

Oh god, please no DC vs Marvel debate again.

In the end, this thread has been quiet for the simple fact that they had no presence at SDCC.

We already got a DC vs Marvel vs Fox in all the other threads.

Not sure why people trash a movie that has yet to come out. What's the fun in going into a movie expecting it to be bad?

Especially from a studio with a great track record

All the reasons for trashing ant-man has been given already.

Great track record at releasing varying degrees of okay - above average movies. Only 3 standout titles so far. So I wont go in expecting this to be the next Winter Soldier, Iron Man, or Guardians of the Galaxy.

Sometimes coming in with low expectations is the best way to watch a movie.

When my expectations are too high, I find myself overcritiquing everything and getting let down

This

And Ant-Man has been getting pretty good reviews so far so i feel good about seeing it this weekend

It's actually not getting good reviews, its 70% on RT right now.

AoU is only at 74% but at least that started off in the high ratings then slowly fell off.

This is not an AntMan hate at all, already got my 7PM Thursday ticket, just saying it is probably one of the lowest rated MCU films I've seen off the bat, they usually rank high then fall off a bit.

As long as the movie is not boring and doesn't have some big plot induced stupidity I will be ok with what I see.

This is probably the most open minded I've been coming into a marvel movie for quite some time. It's a refreshing change of pace for me. And kinda feels less stressful, if that makes sense. I know

I don't really go by Metacritic or RT but 70% is still good IMO.

Having critics who's taste align with your own and going off their opinions >> aggregation sites

Almost everything I've read said the actual heist part of the film in great and the tone/scope is refreshing but the origin parts hold it down and that's pretty much what's expected

Well obviously you can't always rely on them when deciding what you want to see, you have to have critics you like and listen to and agree with most but if we are going to talk about "it is actually getting good reviews" then you have to base it off those websites to get a good sample size.

70% is about average. In comparison, Cap1 is at 79% and Thor1 at 77%. IM3 is 79% and IM2 is 72%.

I mean it will make money and probably surpass expectations but it doesn't bode well to get lower ratings that those (especially on NT when those seems to be on the bottom of the barrel when it comes to MCU minus the Hulk films wich are both below 70%).

Nothing but the truth. I went in with terrible expectations for First Avenger, and was pleasantly surprised. Same for Incredible Hulk honestly. And let me even throw Amazing Spider-Man 1 in there. (Damn shame that bit at the end had to happen :smh: )

I don't put that much stock into those ratings. Obviously, I pay attention to them a bit but I don't like to rely on them heavily because there have been movies I've enjoyed with low metacritic and RT numbers.

Hell, critics have been putting Terminator Genisys on blast to the point where I was almost discouraged from watching it, but then I watched it anyway and ended up thoroughly enjoying it.

7:30pm movie tickets were purchased last week for ant man.

I'm actually pretty stoked for this movie.

I think it will surprise many.

Yea, 7 pm here too. I been loving going at 7 pm release day lately cuz my theater always handing something out..

ej. Poster for GotG
action figure, tee shirt for AoU
tomorrow land pin for Tomorrowland

I'm pretty mad I didn't see F7 and Jurassic Park at my usual theater release day

Soooo this BvS trailer has brought about new found AoU slander. Not really understanding the slander for that film. I will admit that the film suffered from too much marketing. The commercials and little exclusives showed 70% of the film...

Don't pay the DC fans any mind.

I get that they're excited. But then they are going over the top.

It's like the equivalent of Knicks fans going, 'all right. We got a few wins. Now we gun win the championship!' lol
Yeah but Knicks fans say that on purpose not seriously.

These DC fans want it so bad they're believing all the hype, embracing past crap, and tearing down work from Marvel like they been garbage

I don't understand the tearing down Marvel part lol

A few DC trailers and you see people quick to slander Marvel everywhere

If the upcoming DC movies are any good it'll just get worse

Let's try not to manufacture rivalry and just be excited about DC movies without thinking about Marvel

I don't understand why any of them get ripped to shreds, I welcome all this ****. :pimp:

Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Captain America, Marvel, DC, Fox, who gives a ****? Make a good, entertaining movies, comics brought to life, and I'm happy to check it out.

Clark Kent wears glasses and nobody recognizes him, I'm not trippin all over DC about it. I'll leave that to all the **** tards here on NT. :nthat:

Just brought it up for people who didn't know about it. Although I knew what it was, I didn't expect it to go down the way it did.

Trying to have this be the first Marvel film in forever that doesn't get the post credits scene spoiled for me
