WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - XMEN97 release 3/20

So unnecessary i dont think its true.
That has to be fake. They'd have to explain how Ross has obtained the syrum and turned into Red Hulk. smh. Too much going on in CW.
Would that really take that much time?

From the time Ross stopped actively hunting the Hulk once he joined the Avengers his obsession with the beast never stopped and he used his connects to go through a process to turn in to a hulk knowing one day he'd go rogue or w/e. Maybe Fury always had the formula made after getting samples of Banner's blood.

It's not a Hulk movie so the point is just to make Red Hulk fight OG Hulk. No need for endless exposition.

Besides going off rumors the only thing else going on in this movie is a Spidey cameo and the hunt for Bucky by Cap, IM, and BP. The reveal of Red hulk will probably be used as a plot twist for one side to have the obvious upper hand on the other. Then in comes Banner to balance the scales.

There hasn't been a MCU movie that suffered from the too much going on/too many characters to juggle worries and fears you guys have. That's a SM3 and B&R holdover. The Russo's HAVE to do this just to prep themselves for IW.

On one hand some of yall are saying every damn Marvel hero from tv to neflix to movies have to be in Infintiy War but then for a movie based off a comic where all the heroes fight each other in a "civil war" you want to say it's too much. Make up ya mind cuz you can't have both.

There's really not too much danger of 'stuffing too many things in' the IW movies. Because there are two movies.

CW is just one movie.

The turning into the Red Hulk should be a post credit scene somewhere along the line

Then the following movie could offer a bit more explanation

I thought Banner/Ruffalo wasn't even casted for CW.
And as someone who hasn't read the comics, I would be confused seeing a Red Hulk arrive out of no where to fight Hulk.

Might be the curveball they need to show how massive the universe is, similar to the end of IM2.

Do they even need a "curveball" to show how massive the MCU is? I mean they got GotG in space, Thor films has dealt with realms and they've practically been worldwide in AoU.

Not to mention we'll likely see Attilan and Hala soon. A giant floating space city and the capital of the Kree Empire

Doesn't matter. CW is probably gonna have like what 10-12 heroes in it? Overall with like 15-17 important characters showing up?

IW is 2 movies but some think it's gonna be jam packed with 20+ heroes and probably over 30 characters in all.

Same **** when you do the math. Russo's have to get in the right mind frame to manage all of that not to mention pacing and the dialogue being on point.

What following movie? Infinity War? C'mon man.

After CW we won't be seeing all of the Avengers together for a few years. Cameos in BP and Cap Marvel for sure but that's about it.

It's as easy as showing the gov't, who is behind split in sides over this issue, have a secret weapon that's a Red Hulk.

It's not a curveball to show how big the universe is (Red Hulk really wouldn't convey that), it's just a plot twist on the whole "we have a Hulk" line. Basically we got one too. Fight.

A Look Inside Marvel's 'Phase 2' Of Netflix Shows!
By Umberto Gonzalez June 2, 2015

There’s no doubt that TV is in a weird place. Feature films have become king, and are only grudgingly cooperating with their counterparts on the small screen, leaving them mere scraps to work with. Instead of being in on the entire process, television programs are forced to adjust their series in order to keep up with the movies.

Some people have come to believe that the TV side of big superhero franchises’ are being pulled along for the ride. According to some of the latest chatter, they may have a point. Studio execs and writers have begun to feel as though the television side of the interconnected universe is more akin to an anchor than anything else. Their hugely successful cinematic universe and brand took years to build up. Rumor has it that Kevin Feige over at Marvel looks down on the TV side of the franchise, but has come to accept it as somewhat of a “necessary evil,” since Disney demands it. And with ABC insisting on getting their words in, it appears that there may be too many cooks in the kitchen for everyone’s tastes.

There are other non-Netflix series in development as well, which will only complicate things further on down the road. Titles like Cloak and Dagger, Ms. Marvel and a Hulk prequel are all coming our way. Expect more fireworks behind the scenes soon.

One can see why the TV side feels like they have to fight for relevance. They are trying to bring secondary characters in from movies so that their shows feel connected to what is happening on the big screen. Meanwhile, the actors on TV would love to be part of the movie side, but so for the studio has all but ignored them.

Inhumans

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has been using the Inhumans recently, but that might change once the Inhumans movie scheduled for 2019 comes along. It’s a good bet the movie will ignore all or most of what the TV show has done.

The Netflix Wildcard

At this point, ABC is only involved with the Netflix side of the Marvel Universe to save face. It’s a vanity credit. Marvel and its skilled writing team have complete control. None of the silly network mandates are in place, leaving the writers to tell a smarter, grittier and more serialized story.

Daredevil was much more popular than anybody expected. The show has soared, both with critics and viewers. Netflix is hesitant to release exact numbers, but rest assured, both Netflix and Marvel are quite satisfied with the results. Still, that hasn’t stopped a number people around the net from attempting to break down the numbers.

The next Netflix series, AKA Jessica Jones, will feature a great deal of crossover with Daredevil, partly because more actors are cast. Daredevil was in production before anyone else was cast, which is why there were no other appearances.

Netflix Phase II

Marvel is planning a Phase II that will include Defenders, however this won’t take place until 2017. As of right now, the plan is for two or three Netflix series a year, which means that we won’t get Defenders until 2017.

Daredevil season 2 is coming, but won’t air for a while. As for those Elektra rumors and the leaked audition tapes? They’re real. Elektra is coming.

The powers that be at Marvel have also been toying with the idea of adding characters like Punisher, Blade and Ghost Rider, but there are risks with each of those characters. Not only are they darker and more violent, but two of them require supernatural elements in order to tell their stories. The inclusion of these characters could send Netflix over to the goofy side, which is something they’re very afraid of Ghost Rider would also rely on CGI too much for the studio’s taste.

It would also be difficult to incorporate the stories of these characters smoothly. Blade and Punisher are perceived to be rather one-note to carry a series on their own. The heavy level of violence is also perceived to be a risk. They want a “hard PG-13,” instead of an R. And since none of the Defenders actively kill, throwing Punisher into the mix could be a challenge.

It’s far more likely that we’ll see a cameo and backdoor pilot. If it were to go well, like DC did with Firestorm on The Flash this year, it could lead to a new series.

The powers that be in Marvel’s TV universe, on the Netflix side anyways, are working hard to get film actors to cameo. Right now, they are pulling hard for Dr. Strange to appear in the Defenders series. However, that’s an item on the wish list that may never come to fruition. It’s far more likely we’ll see a supporting character come over to bridge things.

The final pipe dream we’re mentioning today is a limited Netflix movie or mini-series that would feature characters like Hawkeye or Black Widow. This could feature both TV and movie characters, effectively serving as a bridge between two worlds. Because so many planets would need to align, this is also very unlikely.

When you get right down to it, the TV side of the equation has much more to lose. Because of that, they’re trying to stay relevant. No one wants to look like they’re playing second fiddle, which is hard enough when you’re going up against massive blockbusters like The Avengers.

Finally, it’s a given that Jeph Loeb will not be calling the shots forever. Right now, there are plans to find a successor for when he does retire, which will probably be within the next few years.

A Hulk prequel? The ****?

I read that whole thing and that's what really caught me off guard. The rest is a lot of more of the same you hear when it comes to these movie and tv problems sharing the same world.

I dont get how blade would make things goofy. They were able to have a whole bunch of super powered individuals in Heroes season 1 without being goofy. Show at least proved that you can definitely have ridiculous powers that are relatively grounded in reality. Not to mention I dont see how Blade would be any more ridiculous than what we would see in AKA Jessica Jones or Immortal Iron Fists.

ScarJo aint ever going to TV with her current popularity.

Why would anyone want a Hulk prequel? Whos idea was that?

That article was so pessimistic and paints the relationship between film and tv in a bad light. That's unfortunate if it's all true.

Probably ABC

If they were to do a Blade and GR show, I say wait til after Dr Strange. Let him usher in the demons and creatures that go bump in the night.

There was a rumor running around a month or so ago that Dr. Strange might debut in one of the Netflix shows.

Not really the article's fault. TV has always been seen as a downgrade from film. Part of the reason why failed movie actors can flourish on the small screen, cuz they aint popular enough for the big screen.

TV's golden era has changed a lot of people's views on that. Netflix Originals, Game of Thrones, MAD MEN, Breaking Bad, and the fact that more and more people have HBO. Still a lot of work to be done tho if TV ever wants to be seen in the same light.

The lack of originality on the big screen is also helping TV out.

Cool...

I think its weird we can't just jump into Blade. 3 movies and a ...uh tv show plus he was in the Spider-Man animated show.

I'm not faulting the article at all. Although I do hope the sour relationship between film and tv at Marvel is exaggerated.

Yes, I do agree HBO and Netflix is changing the landscape.

They jumped the gun on Inhumans nothing stopping them from jumping the gunn on Strange. Especially since Cumberbatch is still at a stage where TV shows would help his career.

I hope that article was wrong about what they was saying about Inhumans and AoS is wrong. It would be a big waste to ignore all of whats been going on.

They're probably just tentative.

Difference between stuff like Blade and Ghost Rider and Heroes is that they remained really mysterious about the origins of their powers and it wasn't official what it was based on until later on.

Blade fights vampires, GR is a human possessed by a demon that's a spirit of vengeance. There's already some general silliness with superheroes but the look of vampires and demons can make things goofy and might not mesh with the rest of the superhero stuff they're doing.

I feel all of it depends on how Dr. Strange is executed and then maintaining that vibe. I think they're going the Penny Dreadful and AHS route.

If the relationship between film and tv at Marvel is like that, as successful with their shared universe as they are, then no wonder DC decided to keep their film and tv universe separate. Probably too much work for them at this point since they're still trying to get their shared universe up and running

So wait not only did they make their own dummy rounds for a real gun but in the scene in question he still gets hit with the bullets?
Yes because they too the Cartridge out with real bullets not knowing that a bullet was in the barrel, so when they filmed the scene, the chose to use gun-powder for it which turned it into a functioning gun.

The problem is all the head honchos wanna be the big banana. I said it before but there are too many "creative voices" and execs that want to be the leader.

I disagree with TV shows fighting movies, because Movies spend 2 months MAX at the theaters. TV shows have longer running times and more space for product placement.

This is what made the MCU so successful right now. ONE voice, ONE leadership. Then Disney went and bought Marvel and it will all turn in to a battle of the execs.

^There's really only two "voices"

One for tv and one for film

Problem is the relationship isn't smooth, per the article

Lol, Disney and Marvel have been partners for all the movies except IH and the first IM, so the narrative that Disney and Marvel can't work together doesn't exist

Respectfully disagree. Disney went after them BECAUSE of IM, and the boatloads of money they got from that. If that movie had been a middle success Disney never gets involved. They saw what Favreau and Feige saw. Tons of characters with the potential to cast at their will and make/create stars by their hands.

Remember that before IM, Spiderman and X-Men made serious bling and a bunch of studios tried to get in on that.
