I like the old feeble 616 aunt may. It makes Peter fighting crime that much more dire because of the risk that aunt may could potentially be all alone if anything ever happened to Peter.

If you have young vibrant Aunt May she's not checking for Peter at night, she's getting turnt up in Hell's Kitchen and then getting backshots from Frank Castle

I'm not sure what's the surprise with aunt may. Makes sense for a 14 year old to have an aunt around that age. Never bought into the whole 14 year old only child with an 80 year old aunt.

Pretty sure Peter will be a HS sophomore/Jr though so he'll be 16/17.

A 50 year old Tomei could passed for a stressed out aunt raising her deceased husbands nephew. Make it modern and give her 2 jobs. I like what they were doing with Sally Field's Aunt May in ASM 2 with giving her the nursing job.
 
For some reason I never looked up if she was really his aunt. She always seemed so old. I would've thought she'd be a little closer in age to his parents if she was a sibling of one of them.
 
Ben Parker and Aunt May were actually older than Peter's parents by around 20 years or so, in 616 canon. (Hell, they were both young adults during the Great Depression. Move that up through Obama's election, which happened in 616, and May would definitely be pushing 90-100 anyways.) So it's not all that surprising, as people can have siblings that are a good deal older than them.

I prefer her being portrayed younger though, like she was in Ultimate. The doddering old biddy from Spider-Man the Animated Series and other appearances is always on the brink of physical collapse, as if it's a miracle she doesn't break in two. Out her looking like Death himself has one hand through her chest. Main purpose was only ever to get sick and put more pressure on Peter. :smh:

She's Peter's aunt through marriage. Ben and Richard, Peter's father are brothers
 
Ok, thanks for posting the info guys. 20 years is a big age difference. I thought the 10 year age gap between my youngest sibling and I was kinda big.
 
Imagine STARTING to raise a child after your first is a junior in college. And I thought me and my youngest sisters and 12 year age difference was bad.
 
Let's say she plays her age..

That would have her around 35 when Peter was born..

The difference between Aunt May and peter's parents would still be fine.
